Dorian has had one of the best transitions from bodybuilding. Looks like a guy who just keeps fit and stays healthy. Left bodybuilding behind and can reminisce on the glory days with pride and comfort.
Yea but would he have done this is if he wasn't forced to? He retired because he had multiple injuries and couldn't continue. He made peace with that but would he have had he not been severely injured? He might be this mass monster still.
@layney boy LOL what? What was nonsense? Oh so you know for a fact that if Dorian wasn't injured multiple times he'd have went down the same path. Ok. Fuck outta here.
Breakneck Flex Wheeler lost a kidney and all his size and still needed to come back and do classic. Dorian has always been a realist when it comes to this. Never did it for attention like 99% of bodybuilders. And this is why he beat the best gene pool we’ve ever seen in bodybuilding. Just like Lee Haney.
Even still...looks like leg is totally shaved and hes pumping that calf through whole interview as it still is a bit freaky......once a bodybuilder always one at least mentally when hes walking around guys that make him look tiny...hes not completely absent of ego..but is a great example of transitioning out of the sport well.
Totally agree. He is 100% no bull shit on everything! Total respect for him and he has made a major contribution to the sport and history and body building.
IW Grobbelaar he is mister body building and diet but live interviews are not his shtick. He gets lost sometimes. Like with Kai and this one supper hot black chick who won some competition. Live is not Daves thing.
Excellent interview. Blows away the boring inty with Kai. Truly love Dorian's current chapter he's in . Solid, down to earth, straight to the point. Still intense, yet more in harmony and universal. What he's doing now. . it's something unlike any other Mr. O (current/former) has ever done. Bravo! From The Shadows. . into the Light .
Totally. His extremely hard working attitude that made him the best..also essentially ended his career. He couldn't force himself to back off and the injuries started. He already had enough size...but he knew what took to him to the top and it was the only way he knew how to train. ..I used to joke that Lee Haney said, 'Stimulate..don't Annihilate'. But Dorian practiced, 'Stimulate and Annihilate'. hehe Dorian is the the man. Very strong will. He over came the guys with the 'pretty bodies' and genetic gifts like Wheeler and Shawn Ray..through the type of hard work that most people can't even fathom putting themselves through.
@@chrisl1209 That's the entire point, they're NOT trying to maintain. They have no muscle to maintain. They are constantly trying to build but INADVERTENTLY simply maintaining their low level of muscle mass due to their lack of effort and intensity. Something tells me you're one of those people.....
Dorian is a living Legend. What a blessing and honor to be able to have him still amongst us sharing his mindset from when he was Mr. Olympia and before. Such a humble well spoken person. Gotta a love him
What’s great about Dorian is how he was his own man and understood how the body works, how every muscle functions and the angles required in the lifting movement, nutrition, diet, sleep, importance of rest, precision spotting, no ego etc ... he was best in all factors. Not often you can say that
This guy is so incredibly humble, given how legendary he is in his profession of bodybuilding. It is inspiring to listen to a guy so unchanged by his success.
Dorians training is on point. I grew up in the late 80’s\90’s and followed Dorian and his principals. It all made sense to me back then and I started to see the results
Yates is a real good dude. Inspiring. As far as I am concerned, he's the greatest bodybuilder to ever have lived. Not to mention Dave, he's awesome. Super smart. Cheers fellas...
Comment section on Dave’s videos are always the best can tell I’m with other brothers and sisters of iron, best bodybuilding channel on RUclips well done Dave your the man
Lee Haney and Dorian Yates are by far the best interviewees Dave has had. Absolute legends who kept their humilty and have great info to share if you're willing to listen. Thanks Dave.
Lee Haney always said, 'Stimulate, don't annihilate'. As evident through his high intensity style of training and the muscle/tendon injuries and damage he suffered throughout his career, Dorian seemed to have practiced the principle of, 'Stimulate and Annihilate'. But , he was the best and push himself to the limit to be the best. Much respect.
I was drawn in to this the entire video and could have watched it for hours! Love Dorians no BS attitude and Dave is as switched on as they come. Two very smart trainers there!!!
Great to see these guys moving on productively in their lives, both look fit and healthy (although Dave does look a little strange). Very cool video, always fun to listen to both guys tell old war stories.
People can hate on Dorian but he put so much into his career and the sport that you can tell he doesn’t care what anyone says, the guy was the epitomy of hardcore and the results say it all, inspirational guy
People wish they could have trained with Dorian back in his prime until it comes time to actually train like him lol. Another outta the ballpark interview Dave!
You could tell that all Dave wanted in life at one point was to be the like Arnold and Dorian, seems like he went too hard with the drugs and it took a toll physically, yet it's very inspiring to see how he reinvented himself and put his focus and ambition into something else, and that seems like something alot of bodybuilders are unable to do.
Dorian is so different then he use to be. He is a great guy and only a few people knew it because he never really talked when he was the Champ. I have learned a lot from him in recent videos. The guys is intelligent as fuck.
So much of calf décollement is genetic, I seem to recall Chris Dickerson saying that his brother's calves were as good as his, and he didn't train. But Dorian's are still good, yes ! I think he does a lot of hiking ...
Who the fuck would dislike this video ,, I had a chance to meet mr Dorian in Dubai , absolutely an amazing dude ,, I wish we have more dorians nowadays
If you're interested in finding out how Dorian Yates found his training methods go to Amazon and do a search for Nautilus high-intensity training and you can still find most of books will be available there.
When I am in the gym I rarely see anyone really taking their sets to the limit. I am 55 years old and have some arthritis and am still larger and more intense than most of the gym members who are at least 20 years younger than I am.
This is so true. I’ve been doing 10 sets per muscle group twice per week. I stopped growing and exhausted all the time, just because I thought I had to tire myself out that much to grow. I’m gonna cut it in half and see what happens.

Palumbo is the best interviewer in the bodybuilding space
I agree, he is a real asset to the bodybuilding industry. He is great

He’s an absolute disgrace to bodybuilding. Especially with that forehead and pencilled eyebrows

Dorian Changed my life in the 90's. I went from being weak to lifting heavier and better than 90% of people training in my hometown. A true Master!

Anything with Dorian Yates this guy will be remembered as one of the greatest bodybuilders to ever exist ... 👍
That was the easiest 30 mins bodybuilding interview to listen to ever! Could listen to Dorian Yates all the time. Such a inspiration

Best interview so far, Dorian and Dave Palumbo. Nothing better than listening to two iconic mass monsters share knowledge.
Thanks Dave, you are a true patriot of Bodybuilding... As for Dorian Yates, I could listen to him all day...

Best video by Rx muscle till date!!
Much respect. Yates got it just in time. Find out in what area-areas that you excel, and put everything into that passion. Simple but brilliant.
The closing philosophical talk about injuries was the best especially Dorians "Some higher power greater than me felt i needed an injury"
I can listen to these guys talk all day so much knowledge being dropped in one convo unbelievable!!! 💯🇲🇽🇺🇸
