I've been on keto for the last 4 1/2 months down 50 lbs. At first, I was strict keto, but the last few months, I've allowed myself a weekly free meal. It helps me not feel so restricted, and I never have trouble getting back on keto or into ketosis. It works for me!

    • @FireTuPapa-sp3gw
      @FireTuPapa-sp3gw 11 месяцев назад

Yeah. I been on and off from Keto as well. And I occasionally have little more carbs for example ill have bread, pasta or something with sugar on the weekend or every two weeks to not restrict myself. And it works too. I guess the fear is that many people out there telk you " this will kick you out of ketosis!!, that too!!" this and that. No problem in a couple of the days your back in Ketosis even sooner. Sometimes you don't even get knocked out of ketosis 😂

I started strict keto July 2022 for metabolic reasons. Within 6 months my numbers were all within accepted ranges, my BP was normal and at 65 I dropped to my high school weight. I now consider myself low carb because I love my veggies. I've had no problem maintaining. One thing I've really enjoyed are your "treat" recipes. They've really helped. Thanks for all you do.

Really excited to watch this video. Your story has a lot of similarities to mine. Keto was not sustainable for me. Once I actually “said it” and made the decision to stop labeling my diet, the pressure came 100% off of me and so did the pounds! I no longer count any carbs or macros and I’ve lost 60 pounds over the last 6 months. I turned my focus to moderation to be able to thoroughly enjoy all foods again. Life is so good❤️

Been keto for going on 6 years. Lost 135lbs my first year and a half and have kept it off. I tried low carb after reaching this goal, and I started to gain, went back to strict keto. Strict keto works for me and I love it. Everyone is different, and this is my different.

@MollyP23 Hi Molly. I was in the same situation. Now, I eat low carb, which means any rice, pasta, etc. is only 1/4 cup. I eat a good serving of protein and veggies. If I get a craving for sweets, keto ice cream. I have also tried to be consistent in my exercising - 30 minutes of cardio, strength, and balance. I mix it up so I don't get discouraged. I really am not an exercise enthusiast.🫣 Just be consistent and trust the process. You will succeed! Blessings.😊

I really resonate with what you are saying. I have lost almost 20 lbs in the last few months. I have been doing keto for about almost 2 month now and right now it is a struggle. I see how it is helping me because I am off 2 medicatios, I have lost some weight, and my blood sugars have stabilized. The downside is that I feel so restricted most of the time. There is so much focus on what I can or can not eat that it becomes frustrating and hard to deal with. I am the only one in my family doing this, so the other foods are always in my face. At the same time, I am afraid that if I stop keto already, i will gain the weight back and not lose anymore. I need to lose at least 20 to 30 more lbs. I still get tired and have cravings, which make things even harder. Sorry for the rant...I am glad that you have lost the weight and you look amazing. I am glad you found what works for you.

Low carb works for me also. However I need to incorporate more protein in my diet, it’s hard. I definitely agree with you about the feeling of being ‘restricted’ when we follow a strict diet. When we allow ourselves to have the ‘good’ stuff on occasion and in moderation it definitely helps to stick to the lifestyle.

I love everything that you share. KETO style really changed my relationship with sugar, the carbs ect...watching your videos, you showed us all how to create delicious recipes without sugar. In 1 year I reversed type 2 diabetes , my metabolic bloodwork changed from red flagged (very scary bad) to normal within that year and lost 55 pounds. also doing a daily 18 hour intermittent fast sometimes OMAD if I'm not hungry. I feel like I could stay fasting AND move more into the direction that you have been working on. I appreciate the much needed help and you are a huge part in the choices that I made that were truly life saving without insulin. Thank you for sharing your beautiful soul. I often wonder if you realize the healthy impact that you make on the viewers lives. Well done! This video was super helpful & really resonated with me. Agree that it sucks to feel like you're on a diet and that there are "forbidden" foods. I like that you're focus is on healthy, low carb eating, rather than a diet. Also, agree that when you're restricting, you're more likely to fill a craving and then completely backslide -- which creates more feelings of failure & around & around it goes.
Please make more videos like this explaining how you're able to continue to maintain your weight with this new outlook. Possibly with suggestions sprinkled in for those who still need to lose weight.

Like you, I’m like 80/20 strictly high protein, LCHF, real food diet. I have found that drinking wine is my calorie killer and I choose food, so that keeps my weight in check. Intermittent fasting and no snacking helps. I did keto back in May for about 2 or 3 months. I went from 160 to 135. I was also diagnosed with diabetes and fatty liver a month earlier. So apart from wanting to loose a few pounds my biggest concern was controlling my sugar levels and reducing my fatty liver which my dr told I needed to loose weight for that. I just want to say that I did quit keto and slowly allowed more regular food and carbs without gaining any weight back. But but but I’ve decided to go back to mostly keto friendly foods. Not so much for weight loss but because my morning sugar levels have been higher then I want. I started yesterday with keto and my morning sugar levels were at what I want to be at 85. Yes I’m super happy. Thank you for the low carb recipes that helped me when I first started on keto.

Keto isn’t sustainable long term for women, quite rightly they need carbs to support their monthly cycle. There are ways to manage the insulin spike without depriving yourself. Rice for example, cooking it with 1tsp of ghee or coconut oil and then refrigerating it. The rice turns into resistant starch and if you heat it up after it’s gone cold it reduces the insulin spike significantly. Having Apple Cider Vinegar 30mins before a heavy meal absorbs carbs as well. Eating greens with your carbs and adding fibre to your meal helps too. Low carb is definitely the way forward. Thanks for sharing Myra ❤

Great message! I wish variety in the diet was celebrated more. And including wild grown fruits, veg, roots and herbs. So important to have variety from the land. Wild game and fresh water fish too.
Let’s remeber, KETO is a medical treatment! It is designed to be a medical protocol. To do it forever isn’t needed if a person is lean with healthy insulin sensitive muscle mass.
Excercise on a very regular basis and moderating out refined carbs is the lifestyle protocol for the vast majority.
Keto is medical let’s try to remember that.

What your doing now is technically my version of keto, a healthy keto.
I don’t eat potatoes, rice, except at holidays where I have just a few bites.
We go out once a month to have pizza and I eat the outside of the crust and just the toppings. That helps me stay healthy and keeps the diabetes, with all it’s health problems, at bay.
I do have birthday cake at get togethers. I usually regret it afterwards with a stomach ache 😂😂
I know that I can never go back to poisoning myself with excess carbs.
Diabetes is a wicked disease and is relentless.
I want to thank you for the last couple of years helping me beat diabetes. ❤

    You’ve achieved a great deal it’s amazing.
It has a lot to do with mindset. If you think it’s a diet it is. When you start thinking that keto is a way of life then keto does not become restrictive it’s a way of life, just like vegetarianism, veganism.
As for Binging that has a lot to do with your relationship with yourself and food.
You’ve repaired your metabolic health you can handle the extra carbs now your body has become metabolically flexible which is the long term goal!
I lost 30+ kg before keto was mainstream. Reversed NAFLD and prediabetes
I feel that Your message is mixed in this video and conflicts with your over all message especially for people new to keto and your channel.
Which by the way I love.

My advice is to go hard KETO to lose down to your goal weight. Do your best to limit to 10-20 carbs. It will be hard, you will be hungry, but the harder you go the faster you lose and the sooner you can relax your diet.
Carbs make up 45-65% of your daily calories on a non keto/low carb diet. So by reducing carbs you reduce your calories, you will only lose weight by a caloric deficit (you burn more calories than you intake). You have to be disciplined and strict and hold yourself accountable. Once you get down to your goal weight you can transition from keto to reduced carb. I will have somewhat normal sensible meals on Sat/Sun and then go back to reduced carb Mon-Fri and have no problem maintaining my weight over the week. YOU CAN DO IT. Get your mindset right, be disciplined, go hard, and then enjoy the fruits of your labor. It's really satisfying when you can control your mind and show your mind/body who's in charge.

I was keto for 4 years and transitioned to low carb the past year. I feel better and am happier. If i eat carbs, it's sourdough bread (low glycemic) occasionally or healthy carbs. My main focus is like a diabetic diet. Still low carb. Just more veggies and some fruits. No sugar though. I always feel sick if i cheat with sugar or white bread/flour.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m so close to goal my BMI is 24.6. I’ve learned I need to switch to high protein and lower fat. Dietary Fat is important so I don’t cut it out entirely, but I’m in the process of figuring it out. Both you and Pernilla Styker are what I’m focusing on.I do notice that if I trim the , the “fat” values decrease on my smart scale. Cutaneous fat goes down right away, visceral fat goes down slowly, but I think it might be because the visceral fat on my scale only measures in pounds, not fractions of a pound. Those are the only two parameters I need to lower to get them into the optimal range. It’s interesting how it’s fine tuning, but I can see f I decrease dietary fat my scale fat decreases. I just didn’t expect it to be that straight forward.

You and I am on the same page with this one. I threw out diet culture a while ago and I'm glad I did, It felt like a burden and a punishment when I restricted, then I would eat whatever I restricted with avengence. Now I just eat mostly low carb and I don't deprive myself when I really want something and it balances itself out.
I look forward to hearing you tips around the holidays and your lifestyle!

Keto is too strict for my mental set up, I find that lower carbs is a must but not excluded. I too love salads veggies Mediterranean diet is a great one for my taste and happiness! Color in my foods absolutely. There is joy in variations, discovery is also apart of enjoyment. I love the new idea of the Chaffle but with a little almond flour, not too much egg taste using only the white is better tasting. Thank you for all the great recipes and being a joy to watch every time! Love your energy. I’m in Encino CA

I've tried all sorts of ways of eating. Vegetarian, keto, low carb, vegan, carnivore.....I'm at a healthy weight and what works for me is high protein, whole grains, some fruit, various veggies, all real food. I love to cook and try new recipies. I'll have desserts, small portions. I have what I want, practice intermittant eating 5-6 days a week and am flexible when I choose. I avoid snacking and make good choices for me. I'm very aware lots of protein makes me feel good, and at 70 want to feel good, which if I choose nutrient rich foods and high protein, low carb I feel good. I haven't counted calories over 40 years, am active and have a bmi of 11%. Lift weights.

So i started keto not for weight-loss but for health reasons. I was tired of feeling tired, with no energy, and crappy all the time. I’ve been eating more low carb lately, and I honestly don’t like how I feel lol. I like how keto makes me feel far more and that’s ok! I appreciate your openness and honesty regarding the matter, and I appreciate that you encourage your viewers to do whatever works for them.

I’ve reversed my type 2 diabetes through tracking my calories on an app and eating low carb and mostly whole fresh foods.
I was WAY OVEREATING AND EATING JUNKY SUGARY DRINKS AND too much processed FOODS prior to losing 51 pounds.
I, too, don’t skip dessert or pizza (use LC wraps, turkey pepperoni for ex)
but now I “tweak” recipes to make them healthier.
My new favorite “dessert” is pumpkin pie pudding…RECIPE: 113g 2% cottage cheese, 1/2 ripe avocado 🥑, 60g pumpkin purée, 1tsp pumpkin pie spice, 7g SF cheesecake jell-o powder, 2 stevia pkts, 30ml unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Blend in food processor or mixer and chill for at least 30 mins.
It’s like a creamy beautiful custard pudding consistency and it’s very filling due to the protein and fat. If I crave chocolate, I just add 2tbs Ghirardelli’s unsweetened cocoa. Love it! 🎃
I agree that what you choose to eat for weight loss or maintenance has to be sustainable, something you get JOY out of, not dread.
SAFE weight loss takes months and months. It’s a marathon, not sprint, I realized. :)
I also WALK a lot and strength train 2-3Xs per week. Oh yeah, CUT OUT ALCOHOL!! Bad for diabetes.

I just started back on keto. I am having skin issues so keto really helps with that issue, especially clean keto. Not to mention I need to lose weight. That being said, I will cut myself some slack when necessary. I want to enjoy my life and not be controlled by a diet. So I will try my best. The holidays are not going to be a concern hopefully because they are only 3 days to consider. If I want stuffing on Thanksgiving I’m going to have it as I celebrate with my family. Life is too short to not enjoy these memory making events. Great video! Glad you’re in a good place that works for you.❤

I lost 35 pounds on keto last year around August. I can agree with you completely on the restriction mentalilty once I was closer to my goal I started eating the way I use to.. And within a year now I have gained all that weight back.. Just thinking going keto made me eat so much carbs cause I know I am not gonna get to eat it once I am on the "diet". I have started again but this time I am not labelling it as keto or anything.. Its just so much less pressure also for me keto isnt sustainable but low carb seems like. When u were talking I felt it was me.. I felt the same way.. Thanks for your videos

Lately, I’ve been trying to change out the rice with cauliflower, rice, I’ve always wondered on the whole foods diet not plant-based but just Whole Foods why they want us to eliminate things such as beans and rice? In my mind they’re considered whole complete foods. They may have some processing done to them in the sense of the beans in a can have been cooked but I get dry beans a lot of times and I cannot do without rice! My favorite meal on the planet is on stuffed green peppers or on stuffed peppers cause sometimes I do bell peppers as well that are different colored, but between ground, turkey, bell pepper, Diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and rice. It is my absolute go to meal every week!

I sure envy of your power, i started Keto 5 years ago and lost around 30kg, i can say that in the last 2 years i think i am out of keto (by numbers) but still keep my low carb ( less the 30 i guess), without eating any now allowed food like bread, potato , fruits and other stuff :).
as one that was overweight to another i feel like an addict that if ill eat even one bite for example of Pizza or Ice-cream and stuff i ill fall again :( this is why i try to keep the lowcarb\keto without counting and checking the ketons on my body.
i must say that i realy love your videos since the beginig of my journy and love to see how Naty grow up.

I never had those strong cravings before. Now I have been beating myself over the fall and it feels like I can't do that strict keo again. I had lost 22kg but I have gained 6kg back. But I pray I get to a good and peaceful place with food.

I have been doing low carb and trying to eat clean for the last 6 mos and I've lost 30 lbs! I tried keto and carnivore and I could not maintain that diet at all. Now I'm trying to eat Whole Foods and checking labels but I do get bored because I'm not a great cook so I feel like I always eat the same things. I also have a huge sweet tooth and lately I'm finding it more difficult to find or make low carb or sugar free choices. It's a process but I know that this way of eating and lifestyle works for me.

I started keto in 2020. I dropped 30 lbs. It felt great.
I am low-carb now. I still need to continue to decrease my weight. I am no longer diabetic nor on medication. The outcome is to not be on diabetic medication because I feel it does more harm.
There are still foods I do not eat like rice, noodles, or bread. I still do the keto alternatives. The only berries I could do are blueberries, so I had to add other fruits that are low in acid.
I like low carb. Recipes are still great and creative.
I am always baking low-carb cookies, cakes, etc, and share with others.
I am interested in your meal plan, but I have allergies and have to be cautious.
I would like to see more recipes with vegetables (no eggplants or cabbage, please).
