Low carb is not a bad thing. It is what has helped me keep the weight off for a lot of years (an Adkins girl). Keto is just a word someone tried to categorize a way of eating. Low carb is a way of eating and I think people and companies have made the Keto word for money. Low carb is the lifestyle not Keto. God Bless Kristi. Praying you have a long, low carb life. :)
I am actually quite relieved to hear this. I knew you were having a really hard time getting answers, getting the proper medical equipment, getting situated with a plan that's right for you...Sweetie, you do YOU. I, for one, am not going anywhere. I am praying that things work out exactly as they should for you. ❤
This is my first time watching your video. I am 7 days in on a ketovore to carnivore diet. I had a gastric bypass in 1983, it ruined my life. Went from 285 to 103 and I was six months pregnant with my first child. Had a 45 day hospital stay while they got me full of nutrition on hyperalimentation (feeding tube, main vein of the heart) 12 hours a day I would attach to an IV pole of $200 a day bag of nutrition formulated just for me and my daughter and a small bottle of Lipids (fats) just to get me to delivery. Long story short, after the baby was born they went back in and continued to botch the stomach surgery from the first botched surgery. I could never again eat veggies, fruit, hard cuts of meats, etc. What I could eat was sugar, fat and salt. I threw up constantly for 20 years, lost my teeth and gained all the weight back after having two more children. I have been on every diet, lost weight, gained weight, but all said and done, I am healthy, on no medication and now on my way down from 285 (again) at 225 now (most of that was Jesus) and now I was led to carnivore. I can eat ground meat, eggs, bacon, cheese, etc. So it has been the best week. I feel amazing and I know, after watching so many video success storied, I have found something great!! It broke my heart when you said you can not continue on the program you love and I am sorry for that and I am praying for you. You do your best and occasional OJ and your meds will get you through, however, Jesus will even get you farther. So, like I said, first time I have watched you, don't know if you know Him, but lean on Him and get in His Word, cause that is what helped me lose the last 60 lbs.
I've been here since the old Dollar Tree hauls! (I miss those lol) I'm not going anywhere, Kristie! I have been worried about you with your T1D and lupus scare. Then, when you told about you passing out with your sugar drop. Your health is all that matters. I'd watch you do laundry, mow the grass, or do square dancing. I don't care what you do, I'll always be here. 😊
I quit Keto and low carb forever ago and switched to WW. I’m a lot happier. I finally found what works for me. But I still watch all your videos because I like you and your family.
Honestly, I’ve been worried about your diabetes since you were diagnosed. I’m glad you’re trying different things to keep your insulin levels stable - your overall health is what’s most important!
I did ketosis for 6yrs. Really worked for me till it didn’t due to some serious post viral intestinal dysfunction which also reached brain health. I had to change everything out of necessity. Still healing. Brain and colon are slowly recovering praise God. I eat completely different now for the most health of digestion organs. So I cheer everyone on to do what you need to do for the most health you can attain. 🙏🏼💕
Dearest Kristi, I would like to thank you for your honesty and your willingness to strive thrive during your Diabetic journey. I too am a diabetic, type 2. I still take my nighttime insulin shot , but I have totally controlled my daytime glucose levels. That is thanks to sweet caring people like you. I will have you in my prayers for you deserve the best. Thank you and bless you🤗
First, I ain't goin nowhere LOL. Second, you didn't need to be nervous or anxious about putting this video out. Anyone who has been paying attention already knew all of this. Wishing you a happy, healthy journey going forward, Kristi; and I for one, will be following along ❤️
I have been lower carb rather than keto but eating the same things for the most part. I am not going anywhere! 💕 I have been focusing on my protein intake and resistance training to keep my muscle as I get older. I am probably at about 50-70 carbs a day. I’m 48 now. I have been following Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and I love her!
I know this was so hard for you to do, but thank you for your honesty and sharing your life with all of us. We 100% support your journey and wish you the best of health and joy! We hope we can still make treats that you can enjoy as well 💞
You’re doing a great job adjusting to what your body needs! After 32 years of having T1D, I can tell you that flexibility as your needs change is crucial. You may still be in the honeymoon stage, which always makes it more complicated! The first few years are the hardest. I am still holding out hope for a pump for you. The control IQ on my TSlim has made my nights to much better,. Keep jumping through those insurance hoops, juggling the hurdles of DME will get easier in time. It’s a hard system to navigate. Don’t give up. It will be worth it in the end. You’re doing amazing … even if you can’t always see it!
I’ve followed your journey from the beginning. Watching you go through this diagnosis was devastating and actually a little scary. I started feeling fear it would happen to me. This video really explained so much and how it all fits together. I love your transparency and am encouraged by the way you’re handling all of this change forced upon you. Being flexible isn’t my forte. I’m learning from you. ❤
Being a T1D, dagnosed at 67, I follow a low carb diet. I have come to the conclusion that insulin and sugar are drugs for me. There is no way I can survive without either of them. Thank you for all the information you gave me over the last few years. I truly appreciate all your hard work.
My heart goes out to you Kristi. As an old follower I appreciate all you have taught us throughout the years and i admire your openness. Sending you my prayers and hoping your journey be a safe one. I keep following you no matter what diet or life style you choose to be doing❤
We love you Kristi! Thank you so much for being brave and vulnerable. I can imagine that was a hard video to make. You did an excellent job explaining and I couldn't imagine anyone feeling any sort of negativity towards you because of it. I don't care if you call yourself Keto, low-carb, or anything else. You are INSPIRING and that is that.
Honestly, keto, low carb, similar routes. You are a great content creator, I don’t think anyone would leave because you go from keto to low carb, or even if you don’t actually follow a diet. Good luck with everything, your health is the most important!
I wish you the very best and look forward to all The new content as well as still having the old. Thank you for helping all of us on our keto journey and I will keep you in my prayers!
Well said! 100% staying. I achieved my weight loss through keto and your help. Husband was just diagnosed T2D. Would love to see any diabetic meals. God bless. ❤
It’s hard to be this vulnerable. Anyone who has an issue with this is more interested in being more a part of ‘the Keto Cult’ than in just embracing where people are. I’m glad you are figuring it out. Our bodies are constantly changing. Good for you.
Kristi I love this video. So sorry that it was so hard for you to do, but it was great and so straight forward and honest and genuine. And yes!!! WE do wish you luck... but you're not going to need it. You've shown yourself to be quite the warrior in these past two years even though you might not feel that way on the inside.
I am so glad you shared your journey! We needed to hear about it...there are those who suffer in silence and needed to hear your story. Praying for you my dear and you keep on with these videos!!!
A journey is one step at a time. Life changes and people change. You are a successful person because of your passion and dedication not because of a diet or a condition. Your personality shines through in your videos. Just keep going one step at a time and life will be fine.
About the 3am drop… in March I had a DKA and became insulin dependent- I have struggled with the spikes and drops as well. So Scary! I was afraid to sleep in case I wouldn’t wake up! My neighbor is a retired nurse and she told me to eat an apple with peanut butter every night before bed. I was like, ya right. But eventually out of desperation I tried it. Kristi! It worked! I have not had a nighttime drop in MONTHS! The natural sugar in the apple with the fat and protein in the peanut butter keep me in a solid line all night! Try it!! Love your videos. Keep Forging Ahead. You’ve Got This!
I've been with u for so many years now. Please, please do what u have to do to take care of yourself. U put out such amazing content to help others. Now it's time to help yourself. Do whatever u have to to survive and beat this. Love and prayers.
I have watched you for years and always admired how you take on your challenges. Even with your video changes, I will stay with you. You always offer fun, interesting and informative content. I can always watch your older videos for Keto support and recipes. Wishing you all the best
Thank you for sharing your story. I am not keto but I did try it for almost 2 weeks. I am almost certain I got the keto flu a few days after starting keto went to the gym and felt awful. I don’t do a lot at the gym I just get on the elliptical or the treadmill but I feel like I was going to pass out. I feel sick to my stomach at that point I kept with the keto diet but then I decided to stop because I didn’t feel any better. So now I’m doing carb 100 or less than 100 carbs probably around 80 carbs a day. I feel great I feel is the right choice I feel I’m not restricted and I understand your journey, baby girl you got to do what’s best for you and we still love you. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
the keto flu passes...the trick is to MAKE IT through that keto flu...its your bodies way of getting rid of the junk it was used to AKA starchy processed foods
My keto flu symptoms went away instantly when I took some electrolytes. But if you found something else that works for you, that's great too of course!
I'm 6 yrs into low carb casual keto. Staying low carb , no sugar. I have integrated Einkorn wheat in my diet along with potatoes. Great added magnesium. Still high fat intake and NO sugar. That's it. Yiyr channel still inspires me. Oh, a little vodka along the way vs wine. No wine. Living my dream. Everyone has their own dream. My spouse and I both enjoy the benefits of ketosis AND minimal carb like tater totts. Reba STRONG. Giggles ❤️ 😅😊
Good job!!! Im 3 years and 1 day (but who's counting 😂 )into straight up old school atkins. Im so confused these days with keto, low carb, what's what.. I just say atkins. Just recently someone told me atkins isn't a low carb diet and i was like oh well I've been saying i changed to a low carb lifestyle oops! 🤭 . But man I feel like these definitions change monthly lol..anyways. Lost 131lbs, my primary and chiro/acupuncturist are beyond impressed with labs. I've been maintaining for the last year and am slowly learning to add things that were once a no no ! Awesome job!
I have followed you since the Dollar Tree Hauls, which I admit, I do miss. I’ve never done Keto, but have enjoyed your content along your journey! We just like YOU, you could make a video about anything and we will watch. ❤ Looking forward to your new journey/content!!
Ok so I leave the comment above ⬆️ and then click to the home page and bam! there’s your post where in the comments I see that you have another channel with Dollar Tree Hauls!? I am RUNNING over there to follow! Lol I have missed those!! 😀
I am low carb now, but aspire to ease my way into Mediterranean. Keto never got rid of my sugar cravings and while I did lose weight, the combinations of ingredients and eating that much protein just was very hard on my digestive system. Between the acid reflux and the constipation I made it maybe 18 months before I decided the specifics of keto just wasn’t doing for me what I saw it do for countless others. I learned a lot and am glad for that. And while I can’t sustain keto I also can’t sustain the normal American diet that led me to type 2 diabetes to begin with. I am still figuring how to rejigger my intake of carbs, protein and fat, but I do feel I am headed in the right direction for me.
Sending you prayers and positive affirmations...and baby do what you need to do to be above ground and as healthy as you can be for your precious family.Diabetes is serious as you know.Take care of you💝🌞
Yes, I am so glad you are talking about this!! Diabetics really need to have a balance of healthy carbs and proteins. I know this because my dad was type 2. I'm excited to see how you are feeling after switching up. :)
Thank you so much Kristi for sharing your story. You did a great job on explaining your journey. I love your videos! I lost 40 lbs on keto and now switched to low carb. I have high inflamation in my body so had to get off the night shade vegetables and lectins. I eat pretty much the same keto food but added some sweet potatoes back into my eating plan and eat gluten free. That seems to be working for me. Everyone's body is different. Love your videos and your ramblings!!
Kristi, your transparency is what I love the most about your channel. I have not been keto for a while and still watch you to keep updated with your life. I also like the easy meal ideas.
I had gastric bypass in 2006 before I knew about Keto. Have had calcium issues and I have to see an endocrinologist also. Back then the "for life" food plan still allowed a lot of fruit and other carbs and eating small meals throughout the day.. Nothing about how you need support and that you must eat this way the rest of your life. ( I tried and it made me gain weight)! Going on Keto has been the best thing I have ever done to feel the healthiest I have ever felt. I went off Keto during Covid and gained 20 pounds back. Your channel has helped me greatly to recover. Thanks for sharing about the RNY. I am so sorry you now have Type 1 diabetes. However, I know you will continue to do well and keep on inspiring us followers as you now eat low-carb. I TOTALLY get the frustration over issues now because of the bypass. I was shedding a tear over your testimony because I DO understand completely. Sending love and support from someone that "gets it." Again, thanks for all of your help through the years. You inspire so many of us!
Hi Kristi! Love your channel and love all your content! I also grew up husky/ chubby never was happy with my body image as I'm getting older I have learned to accept myself as I am. I tried keto and have learned that it helps me lose weight easily, but sometimes life circumstances gets me out of sync with my body and my healthier eating habits. Keep putting out those great videos! Keto / low carb they're all great ! Love your true personality and your strength and struggles in every video! God bless you and your family!
This is good. You need to do what will keep you alive! I'm excited to see your rebranded content because I like you. I think you're smart and funny, and I enjoy your content. Let's go!
The key is eliminate processed food. Keto, carnivore, paleo, plant based...when you stop junk you lose weight. The recent research shows you need carbs. Not junk and sugar. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains help don't hurt the body.
I may have some of it wrong, but from what I recall from Paul Saladino MD, he eats mostly meat, fruit and raw dairy, along raw honey. I currently am not keto, but i attempted it and felt extremely bad. I can't say you need carbs, but I'm still learning what works for me. if you have a diet that works, then keep going. I've tried vegan for 3 years, i personally don't recommend it. because you have to supplement to live on it@@carnivorepolice5-0
Thanks for sharing your journey. I know from your videos how scary and challenging this has been. I am not going anywhere, I’m just sending you all the very best for continued health.❤
Kristi, we fully support you and stand beside you. The journey of life would not be the same if we didn’t have those bumps in the road and detours. Keep going and keep moving forward. Blessings to you.
Hi Kristi, type 1 here. Keto doesn't work for us because it pushes us to ketoacidosis, aka persistent insulin resistance. It can be why your sugars are stuck so high at resting. Low carb is great, but it is important to consider lowering fat. If you are dealing with high swings, ask your endo about increasing your basal and lowering your bolus. Best wishes.
So proud of you. Great and sincere video. Bless you sweetie. I loved your video. I was KETO and developed Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. My pancreas isn't producing digestive enzymes. It is another part of the pancreas. I feel for you. I had diarrhea all the time and was basically not absorbing nutrients in food for 2 years. Thank goodness it was found and I'm taking prescribed enzymes. My daughter swears it was KETO but I have no proof of that and Dr have no cause for my pancreas doing this. Sending you love and strength. I'm not going anywhere and look forward to your videos. ❤
I used to watch your channel before you switched to keto, and I really miss the old videos. Dollar Tree hauls, DIYs, chats...but it is your hard work. If you ever decide to go back to the other format, I'll be there. Good luck in your journey!
Kristy, sweetie I love your videos, health updates, sip & chats unboxing’s and all. You’ve been on a real roller coaster since the diagnosis. Bless your heart! I pray that your health road smooths out in the near future. My granddaughter in law has the dexcom & Omni pod and it’s really helped her. I truly hope your insurance comes through for you. You’re in my prayers 🙏🏻
Great that your making great health decisions. I would love to see how your blood sugar reacts to your low carb meals. That is my current choice too regulate my insulin and also using a glucose monitor.
I love your videos! I'm a type 2 diabetic and also trying to lose weight. I can't quite say I'm keto but I'm very low carb. Thank you for your honesty about not being strictly keto. As a type 2 diabetic I shoot for 30 carbs a day. Don't always get that low but that's my aim but I'm also not afraid of foods like carrots or cashews (in moderation) even high fiber bread on occasion. I hate when someone says "carrots aren't keto" or "that salsa your eating has a few black beans and some corn in it so it's not keto" etc. That's why I'm gravitating to more low carb than strict keto.
Kristi, Thank you for your candidness and such a thorough explanation of your plight. I wish you nothing but the best going forward: good health, continued success on your channel and in your quest for balance…and happiness! 🥰
Excellent job explaining your journey, Kristi! I have learned so much about how every body responds differently to foods, sugar, carbs, surgery, etc. I love your videos and recipes! Don't stop telling your story. We need you! ❤
I just discovered you by searching for a keto sausage balls recipe. I found this video very informative. I am very sorry for your diagnosis. You are picture perfect with a loving appellation or southern accent. Stay healthy Kristi.
Not going anywhere! So many people hear the phrase Keto lifestyle and think the worst about what we eat. I have started using the phrase low carb lifestyle for years now. You do you girl👍
You are the 3rd keto RUclipsr to get off keto and go low carb this month. Keto with Sammy Low Carb Love are the other 2 girls I watch who are. And honestly it's okay with me because I am 3 weeks pregnant and I need to go low carb now instead of Keto. I really enjoy your content!!!
Ive been subbed for a long long time and plan to stay! Every body is different and functions better one way vs another but that doesn't mean we can't all do our own thing but still rant, share tips, vent and such 😬 💙💙💙
You do you. Ignore the critics. I'll still be here cheering you on. People need to take a step back with all the judgment - keto is not right for everyone. 🥰
I 100% agree with you. I've never been able to get into Ketosis because of my lows. I am as low carb as possible, but the lows kill me. You are amazing, thank you!
Love your videos. I did Keto for a while and lost weight, but not something I wanted (or could) keep doing while maintaining my social life! LOL I think just staying low carb is great for the long term. You look great!!
Don't worry. You have to do what is healthy for you. People who have common sense will not judge you for that. People's health journey changes over the years because life changes over the years. I love your channel and will continue to watch your content
Hi Kristi, so glad you have some answers and figuring out your situation. Honestly you need to do what’s best for your body and health situation and Keto people will have to figure out how to apply your content to their situation or not. I have trouble keeping my glucose low after fasting for a couple of days I think due to gluconeogenisis from glycogen in my fatty liver. Doing super strict keto keeps my glucose slightly elevated and if I have a small amount of fruit or sugar my glucose actually drops below 100.
I think you are making a decision that will be less stressful for you! Doing the ketogenic plan is so varied….it’s so personal….it’s hard to even pin down a straight and narrow truth! Good for you for sharing your decision with us. I also have settled for low carb….we do what’s best for us! Sending a hug!
God bless you! You have been through so much trying to handle your diabetes. You are brave, honest and intelligent. You are going to find your balance. ❤️🙂 I have been following you since your Dollar Tree days. I haven never done keto, nor do I plan to. I stay subscribe because I enjoy your videos. Hang in there. You got this!
Nothing like what you deal with but I am hypo glycemic and do IF the best I can. I've dropped 20 lbs but as much as I would like to be keto if my carbs are too low I feel really awful. So we all have to do what our individual bodies require. Watching you for the very first time and rawn by your honesty...I subscribed. You do you, I'll do me and that's ok!

Yt is cracked.
You did absolutely nothing wrong.
RUclips is nuts.
RUclips is anti-keto because of complaints from their pharmaceutical advertisers that keto gets people off of their meds.
@@tmarkcommons174I know this is an old video but it’s true about big farma but my dr told me to go on it to get my A1C down

Nope, not going anywhere. Keep taking care of yourself the best way possible - you got this!
Thank you so much
You explained yourself & your journey beautifully Kristie. I’m here for you & the wonderful videos you share with us. Sending a virtual hug 🤗!
Great attitude, I think we all have to find what works best for us and go with it😚
Looking forward to your new journey/content!!
Best of luck on your nutrition/food/health journey!
Sending you prayers and positive affirmations...and baby do what you need to do to be above ground and as healthy as you can be for your precious family.Diabetes is serious as you know.Take care of you💝🌞
Do what you need to and take care of yourself Kristi. Your health is most important. I will continue to watch.
Yes, I am so glad you are talking about this!! Diabetics really need to have a balance of healthy carbs and proteins. I know this because my dad was type 2. I'm excited to see how you are feeling after switching up. :)
Also in your corner!!!! I’m not going anywhere!!!!! Love all your content!!😊😊
Health is wealth. However you can stay healthy it’s what you need to do! God Bless You!
I actually like your rambling and side tracks! You do what ypu need to do and I will keep watching you.
Thank you so much🤗
Kristi, your transparency is what I love the most about your channel. I have not been keto for a while and still watch you to keep updated with your life. I also like the easy meal ideas.
Praying for you and your health issues ❤God bless you on your journey
Will still be watching. You do what you have to do to help you.praying for you. Love your meals.
My son is type 1 diabetic. We did Leto and low carb but honestly found that vegetarian WFPB kept his numbers the most stable. Do what’s right for you!
I'm so badly you found what works for him. T1D's is hard! Good luck Mama🤗
Let's go!
Good Luck! May we find a way to eliminate your situation. Love your inspiration. BE WELL!
The key is eliminate processed food. Keto, carnivore, paleo, plant based...when you stop junk you lose weight. The recent research shows you need carbs. Not junk and sugar. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains help don't hurt the body.
thats really why most people lose weight, its called healthly eating. the body wasn't made for processed food.
What research shows you need carbs and how long will it take for my health to fail without them?
I may have some of it wrong, but from what I recall from Paul Saladino MD, he eats mostly meat, fruit and raw dairy, along raw honey. I currently am not keto, but i attempted it and felt extremely bad. I can't say you need carbs, but I'm still learning what works for me. if you have a diet that works, then keep going. I've tried vegan for 3 years, i personally don't recommend it. because you have to supplement to live on it@@carnivorepolice5-0
@carnivorepolice5-0 there are zero essential carbs for humans. Fact. The liver produced all the sugar you ever need.
@@aphixe Yes, and even processed "keto" and "low carb" grocery foods. She eats and buys processed low carb foods which is still unhealthy.
God bless you girl, will keep you in my prayers, hope all goes well in your continued journey!
Thank you so much!
Type 1 is so different...you do what you need to do to be healthier n don't ever feel bad.
My aunt and mom both did the bypass. Both suffered lots of health problems and deficiencies from their surgery. My mom gained it all back also.
You always have my support 💕🍀🙏🏼😊
And now that I finished watching you’ve got this 🙃
Thank you so much sweet friend 🤗
Wishing you all the BEST, Kristi!! You got this!
Thank you
Kristy, sweetie I love your videos, health updates, sip & chats unboxing’s and all.
You have to do whats best to you! I recently found your channel, i love your what you eat in a day! Im going to keep watching :)
Thanks for sharing your truth. Of course I will still thoroughly enjoy your posts. Wishing you all the best!
Kristi, Thank you for your candidness and such a thorough explanation of your plight. I wish you nothing but the best going forward: good health, continued success on your channel and in your quest for balance…and happiness! 🥰
I was with you before you started Keto and I will remain with you always... Love you girl !!
Hi, Well done for the huge step you’re taking to give us an explanation about you new and forever lifestyle. Good luck 🤞🏼 & 😊xx
💛
Not going anywhere! So many people hear the phrase Keto lifestyle and think the worst about what we eat. I have started using the phrase low carb lifestyle for years now. You do you girl👍
I totally agree and I did the same thing to avoid all the negative comments. Its sad! Food shaming isnt OK
Love you! I support you finding what works for you!
You are the 3rd keto RUclipsr to get off keto and go low carb this month.
Keto with Sammy
Low Carb Love
are the other 2 girls I watch who are.
And honestly it's okay with me because I am 3 weeks pregnant and I need to go low carb now instead of Keto.
I really enjoy your content!!!
Congratulations 🤗
@@SouthernKristi thank you Kristi! I sure love you!
Ive been subbed for a long long time and plan to stay!
Every body is different and functions better one way vs another but that doesn't mean we can't all do our own thing but still rant, share tips, vent and such 😬
💙💙💙
I'm a type 2 and love your help! I started low carb and have moved to more Keto.... STAY HEALTHY💕
You have to do what is the right thing for your health Kristi! You go girl!!!❤
You do you. Ignore the critics. I'll still be here cheering you on. People need to take a step back with all the judgment - keto is not right for everyone. 🥰
🤗
I 100% agree with you. I've never been able to get into Ketosis because of my lows. I am as low carb as possible, but the lows kill me. You are amazing, thank you!
Awwww, thank you🤗
Love your videos. I did Keto for a while and lost weight, but not something I wanted (or could) keep doing while maintaining my social life! LOL
I think just staying low carb is great for the long term.
You look great!!
I'm staying Kristi! Love you and your content!!!
Don't worry. You have to do what is healthy for you. People who have common sense will not judge you for that. People's health journey changes over the years because life changes over the years. I love your channel and will continue to watch your content
Like you tell us… “you do you, Boo.” ❤
Hi Kristi, so glad you have some answers and figuring out your situation. Honestly you need to do what’s best for your body and health situation and Keto people will have to figure out how to apply your content to their situation or not. I have trouble keeping my glucose low after fasting for a couple of days I think due to gluconeogenisis from glycogen in my fatty liver. Doing super strict keto keeps my glucose slightly elevated and if I have a small amount of fruit or sugar my glucose actually drops below 100.
100 % support you ❤
I'm basically a low-carber myself. But I would watch your channel either way because I like you 😊🥰😘
I've been here since you're Dollar Tree and I'm sure I'll still be here for your future content. You rock girl! Keep being your fabulous self!
Great information. Wish you great health
