We have two Teslas and both a wall connector and a mobile connecter (via NEMA14-50) in our garage. I see no advantage to the wall connector. Yes, it is a little faster, but both solutions will fully charge your car while you sleep. You have full access to the charging info on the app, so wifi connectivity for the wall connector charger really doesn't add any value to the charging process itself. And, as you said, the portability of the mobile connector is an advantage. Go visit someone and you can plug into their 110 outlet. Leave the interstate system (usually meaning no more superchargers) and you can likely find a RV park with a NEMA14-50 outlet....some are now even advertising that they welcome EV's to come in to charge.
Exactly! All well said!
@@PhonesAndDrones Question.. Are both electrical wiring requirements the same? I'm thinking to have an electrician wire and set up for a Wall Connector but start off with a nema 14-50 and use the Moblie Connector... Then maybe down the road remove the outlet (or at least have that option) to add the Wall Connector. Hope that made sense.
@@Emmanuel-tf4loI have the exact question.
I just bought a used 2021 LR model 3 and I’m perfectly fine with just using the 110v mobile connector at only 12 amps. I gain 40-50 miles charging over night. My job is only 6.7 miles from my home so by the time the weekend rolls around which is when I do the most driving, my battery is always at the recommended 80% limit
Questions. If fast charger is bad for the battery, is it better with mobile charger for longevity on the battery?
Wall charger is only a slight bit faster, I doubt the small difference would matter.
That install is ugly bro
MC Cable whipped through a hole in the wall 😂.
It’s only ugly to those who are electricians.
For those who are not, they don’t know any better, so they can’t see any difference.
Hopefully someone doesn’t go pulling on it 🤔
