It's not really pitying. The officer is trying to understand what's going on. Someone calls you over and wants to report someone who threatened them, I am guessing that is how the call came out from dispatch. You get there and you see this fucker, and he is rambling about a girl he likes, and you're standing there like wtf is he going on about? Why did he call? So then you ask questions trying to understand the situation, and thus he reveals himself to be a creep. I think the senior officer was fed up with him, that's why he told him to leave the department. The officers also did good work going to the Cracker Barrel in order to find the girl so they could have a complainant to arrest the guy.

This is just my brief recollection on something I read about the song and it's controversy some years ago.

Exactly! A lot of issues and beliefs with Incels who think that a woman saying no is a secret yes, is because back then the woman would have to pretend and say no, and then come up with excuses. Like the line 'say, what's in this drink?' the punchline there being that they weren't even drinking anything alcoholic, it's an excuse so that she could say "well, I said no, but oh, I must have been soooo drunk, you know I wouldn't have done so if I were sober!" Which also then ties into "well she was drunk and flirty, she must have wanted it" issues. The past expectations of women having to maintain chastity while men got to be horndogs meant that women had to come up with false signals and excuses in order to have sex *and* maintain their honourable standing in society. This unfortunately led to a false sense of 'no means yes', because that's the route society forced it to be, which then led to mixed signals when a woman said no and actually meant it. These incels look at these old twisty rules of engagement, and take it at face value without looking at *why*. And even to this day we are untangling the fallout - being drunk, being nice, dressing scantily have all been twisted back and forth between not consent and consent. And these idiots don't get the memo that we don't need to play such games, these things aren't signs of consent any longer.

Well Done Butterfield!! 👏👏👏👏 Beautiful work on this one, great advice as well. Did they really start shaming "Baby It's Cold Outside?" That song was written in 1944. World War II still had another year, I think it's absolutely charming for the time. Especially when you think about how many people needed to take their minds off of the horrors going on and the stresses at home. All those women without their husbands or "fella" and I think it's adorable now. It was a duet too. In the end she agreed to stay. During the 1930s and 40s in America it was considered a very "formal" time period, so the whole point of this song is that she wouldn't want to appear "loose" and stain her good name or her families reputation. That's just how it was back then, so they had fun making this song I can totally see it. So I like it, it's a classic. That's ridiculous to try to shame it, I never even knew this happen. Anyways...

I'm not going to add in any of my personal views this round because, I think you did an excellent job Issac, on portraying right and wrong. Clearly making the point that we are not enemies, we're men and women but collectively we should be good to each other. That the only ones we really truly should fear are the psychopaths and psychotics.
Yes, all women should be aware because that is just reality and it's responsible, and not all men are bad. It took a long time for me to find my hero, but I've got him. I'm completely happy, but I put in the work, went through the heartbreaks, accepted the lessons learned, and that's life. That's what it will take for you to have them, putting in a lot of effort to find them. You'll never know what they're going to look like. Just trust in the effort, sacrifices, self-improvements, and adjustments that will be required. Also reasonable expectations in another, as you funnel out the wrong ones, finally getting to that last grain of sand that will belong to you. Just put in the work, don't give up even when you want to, especially then, focus even harder. It's going to hurt a lot, but if you really want an actual happy ending 😁... Be willing to hurt, devastated even, then push through it. You'll be alright and you're going to be a hell of a lot more wiser by the end of it. As true wisdom is derived from the deepest pain.... Agreed. To add to your views, I think it's stupid that people try to cancel songs because of their "problematic" nature, because they're literally just songs! Whether some lunatic gets "inspired" by a song to do awful shit or not is not the fault of the song or the person who made it. I’m ashamed to say one of my 6 brothers is an incel: not to the point of stalking or harassing, but just his thoughts about relationships & women. We’ve all tried to get through to him for years & tried to get him to see therapists but he won’t, and he’s convinced he’s right and everyone else is wrong. I was heavily overweight, old, huge debt, not going out a lot when I met my soon to be wife. Pretty much all incel excuses are invalid. ive read the manifesto of Elliot Rogers, i have to say..he was a DAMN awesome writer, he could of had his manifesto turned into a pretty awesome novel, had his life turned around a bit. His situation to sum it up quickly was he didnt understand why alpha men were getting all the women and he had a nice car, lots of cash and no women wanted to get with him, but he was awkward and strange, made bad jokes and he came from extreme wealth in Hollywood , had a GIANT prince kingly attitude, was reasonably well educated and had a pretty decent vocabulary. He started to form a hatred of alpha men because he wasnt one and the hottest girls in his school swent for the sporty guy.. Then he started playing video games all day and his party life with women never eventuated like a normal bloke that goes to parties on weekends, gets with girls, he couldnt find a way to be that, so he became desinfranchised with himself, felt impotent and he started to have a loathing for people in relationships and hot women and then started to hate , then unfortunately became a murderer. I saw this woman I was attracted to at the store the other day so I decided to follow her to wait for my moment. She noticed me and seemed to start hurrying away so I thought that must mean she wanted me to chase her. Women love a good chase.

He told me he was the girl’s father and that he was going to shoot me if I didn’t leave. I tried to explain that this was a misunderstanding and I just wanted to ask his daughter out, but he didn’t want to listen so I finally just gave up and walked away.
That’s the problem with women. They play hard to get but then when you chase them, they just leave you hanging like that. Maybe women just aren’t for me.

I had a future offender poster boy who was constantly saying nasty sht to me in high school, commenting on my body and things he would do to it and other creep stuff. One day I was driving in a nearby town to do some shopping, and suddenly he's behind me and starts following me around. Ten blocks of that crap, I pull over to the side of the road. He pulls over too, and gets out his car with a big smirk on his face. That smirk disappeared when I launched out of my car with a tire iron in my hand, screaming a detailed account of which body parts I planned to mangle. He raced back to his car at warp speed, and got the hell out of there. He never bothered me at school again, and if he accidentally made eye contact he quickly broke off and scurried away. Hopefully he learned a lesson and never did that sht to another woman.

Now adding my own opinion: I don't know if it's the same everywhere else but here, sometimes cops take so long to respond. For non-emegencies cases. Meaning. He waited outside the poor girl's place for a while until cops got there. Now I understand the point that Isaac is making with the twitter post. @@f0repl4y i was 32 when I got married. I briefly lived away at college. I was picked up like physical picked up and carried out of my dorm by one of the teams. I'm 4'10' , I'm 80 to 90 pounds. I was fighting because I was scared because I didn't know what was happening and he was just laughing and I was really fighting. I drove home that night and my Dad went and got my things for me.
It wasn't real danger, but it was enough to remind me, no I cannot take care of myself. God blessed me with a safe loving home with very reasonable rules. I never regret staying there a long time.
