I'm obese and I'm watching this. Thing is, I've lost 48kgs (over 100lbs) in the past 18 months. I'm a couple kgs away from no longer being obese. This is despite me having multiple medical conditions and disabilities that helped contribute to my weight (comfort eating and being too sore to move). @@ElderWillows ...The other thing is that if you hear any laughter in a gym, 9/10 it's just someone spotting someone joking about something in general, often the laughter in a gym doesn't stem from mockery or anything of such nature it's usually just a harmless joke between gym mates, the problem is the anxiety aspect, you hear laughter you jump to the assumption it's about you and a lot of these obese people that believe "fat-phobia" is a thing often act as if they're targeted, have a victim mentality and pretend everyone hates them or jokes about them, when most people don't have a problem with them per se, but have problem with their incredibly poor mentality that they feel the need to push on other people.
My first time in a gym was great, I was large and very noticeably outta shape, stuck out like sore thumb, but basically everybody who goes to a gym is great with self improvement and great with giving advice, I can't recall anyone ever mocking me they treated me just like everyone else, as someone who is there to improve themselves and be better.
And as you said "start walking" that's something that can be done as well if they feel as if they get bullied and feel they get the piss taken outta them at a gym, hell buy a few cheap weights and a gym mat and work out at home. Anything is better than nothing.
It's not like their isn't numerous solutions, they just lack the mental fortitude to break the barrier and unfortunately usually that barrier is just laziness and a poor mindset.

The worst clients I ever had were the ones who let themselves go for years, and even decades, then come to people like me for help.
I can go down a laundry list of options for them to attempt, and 80% of them will tell me that's impossible for them. Whether it be diet or exercise. They'll have an excuse for every single thing I recommend.
All that tells me is that obesity is nothing more than laziness and lack of willpower for the vast majority.
You live your life an unhealthy, lazy slob. Then you get to the point it actually is hard to get you back to a healthy weight and size, and now it's just out of your hands "what can I do now".
      Perpetual victimhood.

He has a wide range of health problems caused by his weight gain. A doctor told him straight that if you don't do something now and loose the weight you will die young. Instead of this being a wake up call he said the doctor was a prick and had no right to say that to him. This is the world we live in now where feelings trump facts.

@@jesserogalski1402 I was always the fat girl. Very fat girl. 126kg fat. I see now, many yrs on, I ate terribly. But at the time I was in so much denial.
I found an amazing trainer. He worked with me all the way, the more effort I put in, the more he would. I lost 65kgs and have maintained my weight since. I am forever grateful I came clean to myself and changed my life. It was hard at first, mentally more than physically. And I'm grateful my trainer was willing to stick with me and is now a great friend.
Can be done but it's up to the individual to put the effort in. I believe this fat positivity is dangerous. Why would you want to settle for anything but the healthiest version of yourself?! Being overweight is not healthy!

Once she has a whole stable of “big girl and big boy” dancers, 95% of her concert audience will be fat activists. Now bear in mind that she’ll have to be OK with 50% less revenue in ticket sales because the venues will only be able to seat half the number of people they used to. In keeping with the whole FA movement, they can’t raise the prices of the tickets to accommodate “plus size” people. After all, they are entitled to be as big as they want to be and it’s discriminatory to charge them more for 2 seats.

I was a 330 pound lardass once. Wanna know what didn't help? People making excuses for me. I would just get fatter and fatter.
Then, one day, a collegue of mine came and said that maybe I should try some dietetic therapy, where I would learn how to eat propperly, learn what to look out for and learn how to cook. And yes, she pushed me a little, but, in the end, I lost almost 100 pounds back in 2018 and it was as if a new life had started. Not just because I no longer had to shop at specific shops, but because I no longer felt tired all the time. It literally changed my life! I started working out and discovered the awesome feeling of crushing on the couch after two hours of workout. I ditched playing stupid vidya games - which was my biggest hobby for over fourteen years of my life - in favor of archery.
All that change started with losing weight!
So here is my message to all the fat apologists out there: You s**k! You might think that you're helping people but you're not! In fact, you're robbing people of their health. I wasn't sick, when I started losing weight. I wasn't forced into losing weight by an unfair society or whatever. And I will always be thankful, not to the people who made excuses for me, but towards that one colleague who told me how it was.

It can never work, because people will want the power, and allow it to control them, and bam! Now you have a dictatorship.
Same with the fast acceptance movement. In theory, telling people it’s fine to be overweight is fine, as long as you say “you can be healthy, let’s work on it together!” but instead, what ends up happening is people say to give up, just accept yourself, and don’t try. No reason why you shouldn’t just be fat.
I could be wrong, but I think that’s where you were going with all of this, and I cannot agree more if that’s the case. If I’m wrong, though, I’m more than willing to hear you out.

I was super overweight in middle school. I never could do well on the mile run cause I was fat and couldn’t run like a 70 pound kid. I had kids in school constantly bullying me, which made me eat even more and contributed to depression. I had the most amazing P.E. teacher in 8th grade. She never judged me or made fun of me for being fat like the bullies did. She made a plan with me to work out every day to lose weight, it was up to ME to perform all those activities every week. She said if I did all the activities every week and had my parents sign off on them, she would give me an A in the class. I was a 4.0 student and because I was fat, the only class I struggled with was P.E., where as a fatty, they compared me to the skinny kids to receive high grades, when I literally couldn’t perform like them. I did every activity my P.E. teacher wanted me to do after school to lose weight, throughout the semester she showed me support and kindness. I’m forever grateful to her for showing me kindness, compassion and actually caring about me. She made a lasting difference in my life. I’m 26 now and I am STILL at a healthy weight and even more fit than all the bullies from middle school. I hope if you’re fat and reading this, YOU can change. Be kind to yourself and optimistic. So anyway my point is, if I gained 20 pounds with my poor lifestyle and still kind of just hovered around 140, how much more effort and more garbage would I have to be forcing myself to eat to gain another 60 pounds you know… like it takes a long time and a lot of bad habits to put on really excessive amounts of weight so how can anyone say that’s truly just what they’re supposed to look like

If you don't believe its possible you will never try and continue hurting yourself. If you are overweight the hardest part is getting started. It can be as simple as cutting out soda and walking more. As you get more comfortable you can improve your diet and move more. Eat less move more. These young people eating themselves to death is just as tragic as a figure like Keith moon or Kurt kobain, very sad and preventable. All of these young deaths were 100 percent preventable.

However, don't just go crazy. Look up what your maintenance caloric intake should be and only eat 500 less to make it easier. If you find yourself starving. Eat watermelon. Its waaay easier and better than just going cold turkey on carbs and sugars and starting intense works out and all...that'll just exhaust you and probably make you quit and go back to eating crap. You can give them all the information in the world and outright have the sources tell them "I was lying to you" and they will still 100% believe what they were told over those 6 months. You help people every week and I'm proud of what your message is, but there's just some people who will never listen. 15 months ago I was in the morbid obese category...I am now only 21 pounds overweight for ny height. Anyone saying they are happy having a lot of extra fat is lying. It's uncomfortable, painful, embarrassing and just a horrible way to live. I over ate with each pregnancy and had no willpower to lose it, year after year. And then, I over ate more over those years being depressed about it. And yes, accepting it as "OK" is easier, but doesn't make it the healthy choice. After 20 years, I've had enough. I went from a size 24 pants/3X to a 14 pants/Large Tops and I'm still not done yet.
Its very clear to me that you are not just hating on people because they are fat. You're trying to get the message out that HEALTHY should always be a person's goal. In the beginning I told my family, I don't care if I'm thin, I just want go be heathy. And not carry 110+ extra pounds around anymore. I want to live a long life. Hopefully grandkids someday?? And if that means I have to work hard, then I'm going to work hard! 🎉
