I go over the differences between the Native Titan X 10.5 and the Native Titan X 12.5. I go over some key differences and some pro's and con's to both. I try to answer the question to which one might be best for you.
The Native Titan X is a new fishing kayak for 2024 and was originally released during ICAST 2023. This kayak has a ton of great fishing features but has some key differences that you may want to consider when deciding between the Titan X 12.5 and the Titan X 10.5.

I’m glad you pointed out the battery box deficiencies in the 10.5 bc I am thinking about upgrading with my new Newport 180 and the 24v 50amp battery will not fit in it ! But I cannot handle the 12.5 either bc of the weight (I have a disability with an injury to my lower back and can’t lift the 12.5).

Yep! Definitely a "Deal-Breaker" for someone wanting to use an electric outboard (i.e., Newport) on the 10.5 Titan-X Kayak. And, it weighs 21 pounds more than the 10.5 "Original" Titan (which has served me well after more than 5 years, by the way!).
I think it'll be a "Winner" for most people seeking a pedal drive 'Yak, along with a trolling motor "assist".

Thank you very much for this review. That battery box issue is huge imo, not really sure what the thought process was in that design. Definitely makes me lean towards the 12.5 however like another commenter I would be interested in knowing the difference in stability between the 12.5 and the PWR 129 considering the PWR is a few inches narrower. Really appreciate all your videos and reviews!
Not the end of the world but definitely a thought provoker. You can lay a lithium on its side but it's important to know that you would have too
Great review! i was considering the 10.5 but after the battery box revelation i may need to reconsider the 12.5. one of my main concerns is loading it into the bed of my truck. was hoping to save a bit of weight with the 10.5 and maybe skip the bed extender. i have a 14 foot touring kayak, that i mostly use for multi day kayak trips, but haven't had much experience with fishing kayaks yet.
If you are not going to motorize it, the 10.5 is still a great option.

I'm 6 feet and 175 lb, I've some experience with paddling sea kayaks , but now I'm looking for my first paddle driven fishing kayak.
I primarily fish lakes, from 17 sq miles down to a lot smaller lakes and the bigger lakes in my area can get some pretty rough sea. Obviously I try to avoid days with rough weather but sometimes the weather can get bad pretty quick.I will add a decent-sized fishfinder (or maybe even a livescope) but no motor. Since I live in Sweden I'm going for perch, pike and zander which occasionally means bigger fish (especially pikes). I've been looking at kayaks like Native Slayer max, Bonafide SPR 127, Hobie PA 12 or 14 but i I have a hard time making a decision. Also kayaksstores in Sweden are few and far apart so I would like to narrow the playing field before going on a roadtrip to check them out.
Do you have any suggestions on what to get?
For rough water I would go withthe Titan x 12.5. I would definitely suggest getting the sidekick wheel system with it though as it is heavy

Thabk you again for these videos on the Titan X series! Im leaning toward the 12.5 but I was wondering if you have any experience to compare the Titan X 12.5 with the P127. I'm looking for soething I can stand in comfortably to fish and have the option to motorize in the future. Weights not a huge issue just more curious about deck space, stability, etc.
I dis an on the water video of the Titan X 12.5 and it was the most stable kayak I've ever been in. The PWR will be very stable as well but I have not been able to get on the water with it yet. I will this week

On the 10.5 rear battery tray, if you take that out and put the battery in a group 24 or 27 box, will it fit allowing the seat to slide forward and back? Another question, when you take off the black access plates, is it already cut out underneath it or do you have cut that out also?
I don't believe you have to cut it out. But I only checked the front plate on the Titan X 12.5 and it was cut out.
Battery box, it's tough to say. I don't believe you could but I wouldn't want to remove the top lid as you would get water directly into the hull
If you don't plan on ever adding a motor and sticking with a pedal drive system, would there be better options? If so, what do you recommend considering?
I love the 10.5. The 12.5 is awesome as well. It depends on how much space you need really. They both move on the water really well and can be rigged up really nice

Great run-down… Thanks! I’m full time in a 5th wheel rv. The max I can do INSIDE my storage is 10’. Outside max with a YakUp hitch mount is 12’, due to height limits. An 11’6” would be great. What would you suggest that would be near what I’m looking for? Thanks in advance!!
Slayer Propel 10 may work. Same drive but lighter/smaller kayak

How do theses kayaks stability compare to the normal titans? Would love to see titan 12 vs a Titan x 12 or a 10.5 vs 10.5
They are all stable but the X is a different level of stability in my experience
I've commented on a few of your recent reviews as I've really enjoyed them and appreciate the content you're putting out. From this video I've ruled out the 10.5 due to the battery box. I was leaning heavily towards the 12.5 but I've seen some concerns about the small standing room space (not being able to move your feet). I also noticed your reply comment to someone from the on the water 12.5 video review you did saying if you had to do it again you wouldn't get the titan x. Love the honestly and wondering why you say that? My main goal is I want to be able to stand to fish comfortably but I also don't want to feel like I'm drilling a bunch of holes into the kayak (I want an xi3). I'm not 100% on peddle capabilities but not against it. Why I'm stuck: titan x 12.5(lack of foot room), nucanoe unlimited(requires drilling), PA12/14 (requires drilling and recent quality concerns) and autopilot 120(I hate the proprietary motor setup). I was considering the pwr 129 but the 35" width I don't think will give me the confidence standing. Any suggestions or comments that might help push me in the right direction?
Never said I wouldn't get the Titan X. I did state that being on the Titan X made me question my choice in the Hobie Pro Angler. The Titan X 12 is the most stable kayak I've ever been on and has a ton of room to stand up on and move around. The pedal drive is very low profile and does not take up a lot of room on the deck.
The kayak is heavy so that's the big drawback. But if it's not a big deal, it's an excellent kayak

Very informative, how would you rate stability in order between the 12.5 titan, 10.5 titan, and the bonafide pwr 129? If the titan lines are significantly more stable than the bonafide 129, then i wonder if native would consider having the pedal drive as an option for those of us that really value stability?
I haven't taken the pwr or the 10.5 out yet as they just hit the floor (I will asap) the Titan x 12.5 is the most stable kayak I've ever been in though so I can't imagine the 10.5 very different
I HAVE to have a wide 'Yak, as I don't have any balance (lost hearing in left ear), so my Titan 10.5 would be the narrowest 'Yak I can "comfortably" use! (I did try the PA 12' by Hobie, and did NOT like the stability of it!). I also get "excited" fighting a fish, and have to stand up from time to time (yes, I HAVE fallen out of a few 'Yaks, doing that!). Lol Never fallen out of my Titan 10.5, though!@@thebeardedpaddler

No room. You would have ro.take out the underseat pull out tray
That battery box issue is a deal breaker for me. I personally like running smaller kayaks and was really considering the 10.5 but I wanted to outfit it with the motor guide. I’ll just have to wait and see how other people modify their batteries in that spot
You can lay the battery on its side if you run lithium. It's just pretty tight is all
I got a Native challenge. I just love this boat. but how about making a light version ?? Kinda like what you did with that 10 ft light weight slayer.
That's kind of the hole that the Propel 10 fills. The X is meant to be that HD kayak

Are you asking if the shaft will lay across the front hatch? If so yes
I'd love to know your thoughts between the Titan X 12.5 and the bona fide pwr 129. Specifically for somebody that is 6 ft 5 and fairly need a kayaking that once a boat they can grow into

Pwr if you want to motorize and Titan if you also want a pedal drive.
I suspect it's going to be extra tail heavy with a batt and crate and the seat wont go far enough forward to balance it out?
I wouldn't worry too much about that honestly. It's a pretty heavy duty setup and also is really well balanced. Would take quite a bit to throw it off

will a blackpak pro 16x16 fit flush/flat in the tank well?
It won't sit flush but plenty of room for it. That recessed area in the middle does not cover the entire Blackbak pro
@@thebeardedpaddler yes, that was my thought when I saw your vid. That recessed area didn’t seem big enough t for the 16x16 to sit flat. Disappointed bc I was strongly considering the 10.5
Another difference, one i didnt notice until after ordering the 10.5, is that you lose the rear flush mount rod holders. I had planned on using one for my flag...
It doesnt help that almost every picture of the "10.5" on retailer websites are actually the 12.5

Yes there is quite a bit of adjustment. I would strongly consider her to sit in one to be sure though
I'm building my titan X 10.5 and i ran into a problem while trying to install the Humminbird Helix Mega SI+ G4N transducer.... the Humminbird bracket is to narrow and does not align with the Titan X transducer mounting screws. Any help on resolving this??? I'm really surprised and somewhat disappointed that the mounting bolt pattern does not accomodate name brand fish finders being sold.
Not sure but probably an adapter that needs to be installed. I know Hobie does adapters as they are set up as Lowrance ready. I'll check on that.

So what's the difference between the x propel and regular propel?
A lot more features on the X. More storage options, swivel seat, etc.
The pedal drive itself is the exact same
So you can run only a rear mounted motor with a smaller battery on the 10.5 but you can run a rear and bow mounted motor with big batteries on the 12.5 correct?
Pretty much. The battery tub in the 10.5 is just too small to really run any decent sized battery

@@vanilla3251 it will always depend on your amp draw on whatever motor you will be running vs the A/hour rating of your battery

Yes. There is quite of bit adjustment in the seat. Try sitting in one first though.
One of my fishin' buddies is 6'7", and he just moves the seat back on my 10.5 Titan, when he takes mine fishin'. Heck, I'm only 6'4" and have Plenty of ROOM!

I covered that toward the end (on screen graphic) you should only do that with lithium. It's just important to know that you will have too.
The 13.5 is the best Titan. Nice room in the front hatch.
Unfortunately they no longer make the 13.5. A lot of people had issues with transport and the wet deck. I think they did a great job with the redesign
I’d just store the battery in a black pack behind the seat and use that battery storage unit for miscellaneous storage.
Probably what I would do. It's too good of a platform.
@@thebeardedpaddlerI know it was a limiting factor on some other native models but are you able to use the pedal drive with a bow mounted motor with the motor in the stowed position on both the 12.5 and 10.5?

Looks to me like you take a wave over the side you're gonna be full of water inside the boat.
If you have the scupper plugs in then all you gotta do is pull one and it drains right out

At the lowest level you have steering mechanisms that will leak water to the inside of the boat.. I've took waves and filled my boat completely and scopper holes do drain it but slowly. was from beach launching.
I think this kayak was a mistake! Because of the weight and the size of the yak, you are all in! "A Hobie Pa 14 loading experience with a smaller size!" That undersized battery box makes this a where is this the best option Yak to use? Not Often!
I think it's right for some and not right for others. If I'm running a motor then I would be running the 12.5 or the PWR129 if I didn't want the pedal drive.

@@manny4491 the propel max 10 actually has stern motor capability. The standard Propel 10 would be a strict no motor kayak though
