I just recently bought the Edifier G2000 speakers. At first, they sounded pretty good. Sadly, I began hearing a very noticable hissing and crackling sounds from the drivers even at mid range volumes. When I pumped them up, the sound became all mudddled. Don't know if this was some flaw with the unit I recieved, but when checking the lowest rating reviews in amazon for these, they mentioned the same issues. I will now try some Klipshch ProMedia 2.1 and see the differences for the same price.
@@nathg8096 amazon screwed up and sent me a replacement unit today instead. So I tried them out in the hopes that these would perform better. I'd rather keep them than going through the hastle of replaceing them, etc. Sadly these new ones performed even worse than the previous ones... They even sent them in a bag instead of a box so I can imagine they got damaged in the shipping process. Just steer away from these. They seemed nice at the beginning, but for that money you are better off chosing something else.
@@Antidoxy I connected them via AUX. Long story short, Amazon messed up and sent me a replacement instead of a reimbursement. This second had the same problem, even more noticable on the left speaker. It was unbearable to listen to. Even if this problem would have been solved only by changing the output source, it is still unacceptable for a pair of speakers that cost 80 USD.
@@nathg8096 Sadly I haven't been able to try the Klipsch speakers since I received a replacement instead of a reimbursement. I am now in the process of collecting back that money before I attempt to purchase a new product. All in all, a very bad experience as a consumer.
Loudspeaker systems sold as "computer speakers" by companies that also sell keyboards, mice, and other computer peripherals are usually not suitable for serious music listening. They're fine for general use and for gaming -- as long as the player isn't used to something better. Notably, most of the units described here are NOT marketed as computer speakers.
@@mech0p I think the Bose Companion 2 Series 2 speakers are an excellent compromise. I'm not generally a Bose fan, but the pair of these I've had for well over a decade has never let me down. There are of course better speakers for movies and music, but these are pretty darn good in a small room. And I doubt if there's any powered stereo pair without a subwoofer that can beat them for gaming. Used ones abound but are often sold incomplete, so be careful of that.
I have the KANTO TUK for my computer speakers and the S8 subwoofer....amazing sound and set up...did i over do it ? ( probably...LOL ) but i LOVE it...cheers all from Canada
Hey, I appreciate your comment. I have been mulling over that exact setup! Glad to hear it sounds like you'd do it again. I wish there were more videos on high-end desktop speakers.
lol A2+, i had it, utter crap. really muddy shit. this is what will happen when videos create based on paid reviews. TO REVIEW A UNIT YOU MUST HAVE IT WITH YOU OR HEAR SOMEWHERE ELSE
I have these too and I partially agree. You can get good sound out of these if you do the following 1) make sure that the volume knob on the unit it not turned on too high 2) Use Equalizer APO to tune the speakers. There is a good profile to be found online that calibrates these speakers the right way.
@@nossy232323 yes I was using APO, that's the only reason I kept it a while. Try some good studio monitors. Then you will agree with me 100%. Even with apo you can not get the best from A2+. I switched to HS7 then again Adams audio T5v. Complete game changer. When you have something truly balanced pair, you can't recognize where sound comes from. They isolate instruments and projects the sound incredibly well.

Hi, how did you connect them? Via AUX, USB or Bluetooth? Usually I hear problems with AuX.

Confused what they say which is better Edifier 2.0 G2000 Logitech Z407
?
G2000 has bad quality control and they can produce hissing quite quickly
i really hate videos like this, showing a SOUND device, without actually hearing the sound of it
I just wanted to comment and say that your intro is really well written. It definitely has a good hook for attracting viewers!!
