      He's reviewing the old one which doesn't work as well. Then goes on not utilizing any of the tips on their website such as wearing pants a couple inches bigger than normal. Not wearing it in the correct position. Just generally going out of his way to exaggerate issues.
      No holster is perfect for everyone, and this holster may in fact be the worst one for you and him according to your preferences, but this is not a fair review. If you watch their video they show a portly fellow using this holster just fine without all of these theatrics. ruclips.net/video/pkRofcvfnHg/видео.html

      As a fellow fat guy I can tell you.....yes those pants are TIGHT AS SHIT FOR YOUR BODY TYPE. Hence why use them 6 inches below your actual waistline. Pants go around your waist not under your gut. Again fat guy to fat guy, no shame.

    I love my Urban Carry! Not sure what you have against the company. You made some valid points, but the most useful gun is the one you have on you, and this holster is the first to allow me to carry at work. For my specific situation, the urban carry is definitely the most concealed and comfortable holster I've worn with business casual attire. What's a better option for slacks with a tucked in button up shirt? Ankle carry, pocket? It will not fall out, I've hung upside down with it. After a few training sessions it's a quick reliable draw single or double handed, I can get a solid positive grip without any trouble, I can put it on my belt in the morning in a matter of seconds, and re-holster very quickly. The only dumb thing Urban Carry did was put that stupid slot for your firearms permit; great way to get killed by the police! Maybe I got lucky and have the perfect gun or body type for this holster, but it has solved a serious problem for me. I carry a 9mm shield and have the version one Urban Carry.

    Add to the list of reasons you might need to re-holster your CC handgun quickly: if you haven't actually needed to fire it, but still needed to stop a threat from bad guys...and you don't want to be standing around wrestling to put it away while others see you / film you with their cell phones / get you arrested for assault (for brandishing).

    John, I have one of these UrabnCarrry holsters... I agree with your assessment... I never use it but once a year... Easter Sunday at church, when I want to be dressed in slacks and a dress shirt and still carry an M&P Shield 45. It works for that... but as soon as I get down I got back to my White Hat Holster made in Texas!!! I just love these guys! And their tuckable options are awesome.

    I have the new G3 holster. I gave it a couple of months of tying and I agree. It is a wretched, pulsating ball of suck and fail. Granted, the G3 does hold the gun securely and there trigger is protected but all the problems remain. It binds most of the time trying to draw, denying access to the gun. Don't even try sitting down. If it doesn't bind, the draw is far to long to be able to access the gun and you have to yank the gun out the holster as well.

    • @john-martin
      @john-martin 6 лет назад +8

      David Hamilton the footsteps of a navy seal aren’t really silent especially when they’re walking on gravel or when their boots are squeaking and swooshing from getting wet. so its false advertising. i would say footsteps of a bunny rabbit or an illegal immigrant would be more correct and honest. but it perfectly makes sense as this product doesn’t work.

  • @generalrendar7290

    The G1 is more or less an anti-pickpocket wallet. Both models suffer in the seated position. I haven't had issues with concealment or comfort with it, but John's complaints are valid. If you already have one just use it as a wallet when you go to the big city or travel.

    As stated in the other video, this holster is for people who have to have their firearm 100% concealed where it's either this or go unarmed (ie: carrying at work in office clothes against policy, etc.). So it's good for the office where the most you'll probably face is an active shooter. I would definitely not wear this in my car or to the grocery store.

    Love you John but you still are missing the point of this holster. I have several options that I prefer over the UC but it has its place in my gear rotation. Yes. It has major drawbacks but sometimes it is still the very best option for some situations. It is without question the most concealable and the most secure holster that I own. (And I have many)
    It sucks to draw from and good luck getting a grip on it if you are seated. Reholstering is also an issue but you have taught me to be aware of my situation. I’d rather wear the UC than not have a firearm on me at all and I use it these type of situations. Thanks for the follow up video. It just shows how you are trying to keep things fair and honest.

    I haven't seen anyone point out that if you needed to conceal your draw, this seriously hinders your ability to do so.
    Not every defensive encounter is going to require you to pull out your gun so obviously. In fact, I'd argue most encounters have some factor of concealing your draw so you can get the drop on the perp.
    That alone is enough for me to give it the big seal of FAIL.

    Ever see those infomercials for new products that always start by having bad actors make basic tasks suddenly look inconceivably difficult to create the need for their new product that no one actually needs? Suddenly, using a regular pasta strainer is outside of the scope of human achievement, but this new product saves the day. Yeah, well that's what you look like demonstrating this holster. I don't plan on buying one, and you're probably right about it's shortcomings, but if you gave a best effort to actually make it work, that would be more honest. We've all seen the commercials, and the model there successfully and quickly draws the gun like a dozen times. You're really hamming up the problems here, and I don't know why. In truth, it probably works reasonably well from a standing position if you give it a real, authentic try. Still seems clearly inferior to other options, but you're not giving an honest review if you don't give the item a chance to succeed in your use.

I wear 5.11 pants so they are not like jeans they are lose fitting and cargo shorts. This G3 works great. It is so comfortable when having to sit you don’t have to adjust. I find that it is more comfortable and more concealable than any other holster I have tried and I have tried many. Don’t let him talk you out of this if you are considering as it has become my everyday carry

    It should be called the Ron Jeremy or the John Holmes holster. The women would go nuts over it. Pun intended.

      Which is great. I really mean that. But concealment is useless if you can't get to it. It conceals AWESOME in your safe at home, too.

      @@ASPextra I could get to my firearm quick enough for what I was using it for, I was far from the quickest draw in the west with this holster, but when it comes to concealment I don't believe everyone trying to be Bob Munden is practical (as cool as that would be to shoot like him). I got this holster cause I was working an office job that openly advertised we were a "weapons free environment" out at the front of the building just advertising to any psycho we got fish in a barrel. My work did not have any metal detectors so all I needed was a holster I could feel confident would not reveal itself to my managers and get me fired. In an office space, or any other fish in barrel environment such as a school the holster does its job. I'm not a very tall man but of average height, as long as I wasn't a shooters first target I could stand straight up without worrying about my head poking out over our cubicles get to my firearm, then take cover. If I was a shooters first target then no matter what holster I use I'm likely a dead man unless I can disarm them bare handed (since most people can't draw faster than a shooter who has a bead on them), at least I would die with a clear conscience knowing I didn't just give them another gun to go on their killing spree. Your first video you stated 3 requirements your holsters must have for your use 1. Covers the trigger guard: Yes. 2. Has to hold the firearm securely: Yes, it holds it very securely. 3. Has to allow reliable access to firearm: I would say No, it holds the gun too securely especially for us heavier guys we got to tuck in our guts to get to it, has to be in an upright position to get at it. "Two out of three ain't bad" - Meatloaf. But I'm happy to report that I am no longer at that job, and have reverted back to my Galco holster to tuck up under my shirt now that my life is less crowded.

      My appendix IWB holsters conceal as good and usually better than this thing. Thats a fact! Its also about clothing choices/sizes. I actually can't stand IWB carry. Almost all of my holsters are OWB, mostly DeSantis thumb break scabbard/pancake style holsters and a couple SafariLand ALS. Have the DeSantis for every handgun I own. But when I do carry appendix, I can tuck any shirt over it like it's not even there. I also use a good ankle rig, but mainly only as a secondary/backup piece. I always have a primary besides. I also can't wear loose pants. The bashing on this thing probably wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt for all the urbancarry cock sucker fan boys(not you!!) leaving such ignorant and condescending comments all over these videos, some of which CLEARLY shouldn't even own a firearm. Again, not including you. You're comment was actually a very fair one. Even you admitted it doesn't give reliable access to the firearm. And the scenario you described, unfortunately, actually does limit your carry options badly. But some of the comments, especially on the first video, did absolutely nothing to dissuade my opinion of the product and only made them look like whiney little twats who actually agreed with the video but had to put up the arguement to hide their butt hurt for blowing money on this pile of shit.

    I’ve been using the g2 for years with an air weight. Never had it fall out. Never had the problems you are claiming. It’s not as fast as a regular holster which could be a major problem but it puts a gun on my body everyday. Not trying to be an ass but its probably not best to have a belly and use this holster. And the holster in this video is the cheap leather and a version 1.

      Active Self Protection Extra I just watched your newer stuff. Nice job on the weight loss. It’s not for everyone but it’s the best option I’ve found for me. When you make videos like this sometimes it discourages people that this holster would have worked for.

    • @seancarraher
      @seancarraher 4 года назад

      Active Self Protection Extra I bought the more expensive leather with a smoother finish on the outside. After the leather gets worn in like a baseball glove it forms to the gun and your leg. Did you ever try and play a baseball with a brand new glove ? Doesn’t work well. Same with this holster. These are facts. I wear it everyday. Yes I can draw sitting down. I wouldn’t be staying my case if I didn’t think it was important. This holster takes practice and wearing in to the gun and to your body. People don’t like hearing that because it takes effort and practice. If I can’t dunk a basketball I don’t blame the goal for being too high.
