I just ordered an AD17e Blacktop that I'm taking on my European tour in June and at the end, I'm going to find a deserving Ukranian refugee who lost their guitar(s) back home - and I'm going to give them the guitar as my gift of hope and love from Nashville. Let me know if you know of someone or just send them to my show in Prague June 24th so I can meet them. I'm stoked to be doing some good on this tour. Aloha!
Something about zero glue on the neck joint that gives Taylor’s the unique woody tone with the extra high end shimmers. Love my 2014 custom gc. It’s gonna be my sons one day.
I think you could play that guitar on any stage anywhere or leading a church group or doing some solo performances. Really good sound and sharp looking. Thanks for the video.
Listening through headphones this sounds good. Several years ago , I took their factory tour ( highly recommended ) . Someone asked the tour guide what guitar he recommended . He said the ovangkol series was the best value. We tried a bunch of various guitars in their showroom and came to the same conclusion. Hard to top their consistent production quality and playability.
Paul wearing black & blending into the guitar or background. That black top is sharp looking. Being Taylor, the top will wear great. My 717e builders Edition is also satin & wonderful. Wonder what the electronics sound like. Great demo.
I know this guitar was born out of making an affordable guitar in light of covid . However those of us who are not rich have kids and mortgage really can’t drop 3 grand on a guitar . 1 grand fits the budget much better. With a bit of a stretch this guitar fits the budget .
Thanks For the great review guys! I just purchased this guitar a few months ago and have been loving it! I put on the Taylor black tuning pegs and black front strap pin and it looks even more incredible now. I also am trying it with some Elixir HD light strings and it really comes alive when playing finger style vs. the medium strings it comes with. That said I prefer the medium strings when playing with a pick. You should totally buy one Quinton, just don't get to close to the fire! hahaha
I have the e20ss/v and it's amazing. I have played the taylor american dreams too, but they just don't resonate with me. I also prefer the shorter scale on the Eastman. The varnish feels amazing too. Overall, I'd recommend the e22ss/v over the ad17.
I played the mahogany and thought it was too mid-heavy. The 517 builder’s edition with torrified spruce top is my favorite Grand Pacific, but the price is painful.
Ford has done the same thing since their inception. Today people actually fall out of their brad new trucks while driving down the highway. Buying American can be good. Buying American cheap is for morons.

I'm going to get exactly that guitar! Grand Pacific and spruce top done looking.

Try Mackenzie and Marr!
This guitar isn't 3 grand, bro, not even close.
@@jesseland324 he didn’t say it is

Sounds better that a lot of 3 grand guitars outside of martins. Not a huge fan of most Taylor’s especially the cutaways this one is about 1500

I love the quality of tone I get from my Taylor guitars above all the other qualities inbued in them.
I love my Taylor GS Mini.....party last night with 3 other Taylors and a SeaGull.....but I prefer my 2 MacKenzie & Marrs.
If I could afford this guitar, I would never take it to campfire... instead, it would be on my wall next to security camera.. 😀 Great guitar!
Well, it's only $1,500 ($1,499) at Music Villa so, food for thought, this certainly makes this affordable for a primary guitar.
Do people really do campfires? Not in my world. I also prefer indoors and nights.
That would be like never taking a beautiful woman dancing - and a world without campfires is not only dark but sad 😭.
This duo makes me smile y they blah more lol
A slope shoulder is great
That fella can sure play!
Not bad for a Taylor.
i was taught if you can't say anything nice, then keep yer trap shut. so that's what i'll do. good review tho.
I was taught the same but I will say...
You're wrong! 😁😘

I’m torn between this and the Eastman e22ss/v. I just don’t know. What would you think ?

I thought these were Walnut back and sides?
They were now they are walnut
Looks pretty, nice sound, but that top will mark easily I'm sure.
I don't think it will mark because that Taylor satin finish is very tough.
It did.
Can we please please please get a cutaway on these?
that would be called the American nightmare

Another treble-heavy Taylor 😐 Yee-haw...I'd like hear the Mahogany version...It may have more warmth.
you don't like Taylor. Get over it

Campfire guitar
yes u toss in the fire
This or the Gibson j 45 studio...hmmmmmm
Too bad it's not all black or else I'd get it. If the back and sides were stained with black, it would've looked amazing
check out the ad12e if you can find it, not a dred tho
sounds exactly like my j 45
No. No, it does not.
@@auramac youre right probably better sold my j 45
Seriously. I'm sorry guys. But I still like the review if Tony Polecastro will do.
Grow up.
