Can You Beat Terraria 1.4.4 Using Yoyos Only?

- In this video I try to beat Terraria using yoyos only! The rules are that I can't kill enemies unless I have a yoyo equipped and also accidental hits will not count which means that if I'm chopping down a tree and I hit a slime with my axe that would be considered as an accidental hit.
With the new and recent 1.4.4 update for terraria, with the addition of a brand new yoyo, I've decided to revisit a challenge that I've done in the past. Can I beat Terraria using yoyos only? Hope you all enjoy!

For anybody wondering, that double yoyo drop that happened when the crawdad fell into the lava had a little bit under a 1/10000 chance of happening

thank you i was wondering actually, but the chances are probably actually a little higher considering the rarity of a crawdad falling into hell isnt very likely

Yoyos have always been my favorite subclass so seeing Terraria add the Hive-Five it made me very happy

Yea, you're lookin for "Fargo's Soul mod" or even "Calamity" more than likely since I'm pretty sure those 2 have something like that
Usually when I'm in my pre-mech boss phase with yoyos, I farm for the frost armor, use the hel-fire, and use a cursed flame flask so that my yoyos deal 3 different flame debuffs, that usually carries me through plantera until I get the eye of cthulu

Pretty sure the yoyo now causes Hellfire debuff, not regular Fire, so a Magma Stone can go in there too. Think that was somewhere in 1.4.3 actually.

The Hive-Five is such a cool new addition, especially for fighting Skeletron. The bees help do continuous damage to the hands and even the skull when you’re focused on dodging.
I feel really bad for the Kraken, it is basically useless in the game because of where it is obtained and its damage output

Personally. I love using Yo-Yo's. They are absolutely amazing and I do want a new upgrade to the yoyo bag. Maybe combining the fire gauntlet with the yoyo bag for a mega weapon!

The hive five us probably one of my favourite yoyos. You get the amazon at the start of the game then beat queen bee with it and progress through pre hardmode from there.
im doing a yoyo only master mode playthrough and my experiences with the hive five are so mediocre. it only summons a bee like once every 5 hits and the bees seem to die faster than they spawn in

I have a playtrough idea, little bit more time consuming but way more refreshing
Misc ranger weapons only(excluding darts and rockets)
snowball cannon (pre boss)
Paintball gun (ammoless ranger weapon)
Sandgun/starcannon (time consuming)
Toxikarp (ammoless hardmode weapon) also cool behavior like the shimmer arrows "falling upward"
Dart rifle/pistol
Post plantera
Piranha gun
Jack o lantern cannon
Candy rifle
Stynger
Nail gun
New shimmer water is intense! For example, you can switch between different emblems, if you got the wrong one.

Just so you know for future challenges, the slime mount's damage is classed as summon damage. Loved the video, and I look forward to seeing more like it in the future
Also it doesn't matter what emblem you get from the wall of flesh bc you can change it in the shimmer liquid that spawns in the outer 3rd of the world
It spawns on the same side of the jungle, and it’s horizontal position is around 50 blocks away from the sand from the beach. It’s also deeper than you think
You could have used Glimmer to turn the Emblem from the WoF into a Warrior's Emblem, would have been really helpful in early Hardmode.

The first time I completed terraria I actually did defeat moonlord with yo-yos because I convinced myself they were the best weapon, took me almost an hour irl 😭

Honestly. It was good that you got Adamantite on this world. The titanium armour got hard nerfed in 1.4.4 because it lost its shadow dodge set bonus, that hallowed has now obtained.

I was like how did you get over 50 defense with adamantite armor when I got 50 with chlorophyte but then I realized melee gets a ton of defense while mages dont

Just a little tip for using honey, you can place it within bubble blocks in your arena so you can easily run through it and get the buff :)

I feel like yoyos got the least stuff added in the duration they were in the game, by that i mean new stuff added in later updates not the 1.3 update.
They didn't need more they already are the safest melee option in the game high rapid damage against single target bosses if you're skilled with aiming a mouse icon with the least risk especially since flails became clunky after they got their rework in 1.4

Instead of a Cloud in a Balloon, you could've made the Fart in a Jar, which has a higher double jump and can be crafted into the Fart in a Balloon, then a Green Horseshoe Balloon.
Also, at 8:22 you missed an Obsidian Rose.

If you crafted Frost Armor instead, you can inflict three DoT's using Hel-Fire

Which will make it an absolute beast

How did you go from three mana crystals fighting king slime down to one during Queen Bee?
He had the ancient cobalt helmet which increases mana by 40, but he equipped the shadow armor so he lost the 40 mana
@FATTY_BATTY he didn’t change accessories, neither did he have a goblin tinkerer, so mana increasing accessories aren’t possible

expert, he has 5 accessory slots and still gets eoc shield
I just realised how frickin jacked moon lord is
one thing that works really well is having the Amarok yoyo for frostburn, a magma stone for burning and a cursed flame flask for tripple debuffs. alternatively you can wait for a snowstorm and farm three ice cores to craft the frost armor which applies the frostburn debuff, so you wont even need amarok

the yoyo bag is as close we going to get but if a new armour was added which buffed yoyos could be fun but yoyos are very viable but they are best treated as a side weapon paired with a sword or other melee weapons. yoyos are great for dealing consistent dps in conjuntion with a sword
also sommoning gear increeses yoyo damage

I see you were getting the honey buff by quickly using a bucket of honey on your player, but there's now an easier way to get the honey buff!
As of 1.4.4 if you have a bottle of honey in your inventory and use the quick buff key, you will get the honey buff for... I think 15 seconds.
This will still consume the bottle of honey, but will not heal you directly or give you potion sickness.
So you can hit the quick buff button every so often during a fight, and keep the honey buff on you. Also do not worry about wasting other potions, as hitting the buff key only applies buffs if you do not have them already.

I would recommend if you ever did this again to use flash they work with yo-yos and I think it would’ve been really good but that’s just my opinion
