The natural building journey of Jayan continues as he and his family get to the second stage of construction. In this tale, Thannal’s Founders and architect Biju Bhaskar and Sindhu Bhaskar explain the design and the execution of it respectively. Also, Thannalite and architect Akhil Shajan were briefed about the construction details that were encountered along the way. In addition to it, a rocket stove made by Shihab Khader is also portrayed. Jayan and his family continue to keep the fire going despite the many challenges they had to undergo. The video is in Malayalam. Spaces: 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, toilet, study, balcony, verandah.
Designed by: Ar. Biju Bhaskar
Techniques used: Stonemasonry with Mud and Lime Mortar, Cob, Wattle and Cob, Wattle and daub, Split bamboo for the first floor, intermediate walls, mud and lime plastering, terracotta tile flooring.

I just needed to share my two cents real quick that if you guys grow Timber bamboos you can use those chopped up like you would chop up a cord of wood and stack it in the wall of the Adobe light cords of wood.

in the future when they figure out that we should be Mass growing bamboo for its insulated value they'll eventually make machines that can bail 12 ft bamboos. Then we will be building bamboo bail walls.
