We need some more old school in the mix Genius. Not only are we getting a break down we getting some historical context as well.
Faxxx I never even knew the lox was on it
agreed!
ruclips.net/video/iF0KjW9a1Ts/видео.html you'll be on this channel for hrs trust me
half of this new shit has no deep meaning anyway
@@JonLondon210 you wrong for this. Good looks though!
R.I.P to DMX..all dogs🐶 go to heaven
"Where my Dogs At"? S.I.P. ~DMX The Great
The most simple breakdown to a legendary song.
DMX will always be a legend 👊
LegitMusic always 🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿
May he rest in peace
"If the drums aint tight the beat aint right"......HAVOC
Facts 🙏 blessings
"Niggas Done Started Something" is my, favorite joint off this album! Mase was, in rare form!
That x verse was nuts
Yeah that mase verse was vicious, him X and the Lox was a perfect blend
its dark and hell is hot is brilliant
I hope there are more Boom-Bap/Old School type beats that will be in deconstruction
Bru Th3r this ain't boombap tho
Sebi Old School I guess?
yeah xD
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
hes talking bout the era
I like how it's so easy for him to recreate this beat like he just made it yesterday.
Ahh the timing. This gets recommended to me right after he passes. Rest In Peace DMX
Yall complain about how "easy" or "simple" trap beats are made but this was a very simple breakdown, I dont understand what the complexity of a beat has to do with you enjoying the song
RIP DMX we will always remember you
Music lives forever and so does your memory in our hearts
Get at me dog is a straight classic. Still playing it hard in 2019 like it came out yesterday as if it's 1997. Real music is timeless!
It was definitely a big hit in its day. But, this is just testament to Erick Sermon’s (E-Double/the Green eyed bandit/MC Grand Royal) genius on the beats. E-Double is one of the most underrated producers. He is on par with Dre, Premier, Timbaland, and Pete Rock! He is cut from that cloth.
So true. I wish him and Eric sermons name ould be recognized the same as Dre, pharell and the others.
Lox leaving Bad Boy going to Ruff Ryders was the best decision they could’ve done. That partnership with Lox and X was like Snoop when he went to No Limit. It just worked brilliantly
Flame Beats oh don’t get me wrong Lox on Bad Boy was bangin’ too. The whole album Money, Power, & Respect is a classic and was done while on Bad Boy
Flame Beats I fuck wit you for this comment. 🔥
Haus of Thug Life they were always Ruff Ryder's
Mr Wonderful actually they were signed to Bad Boy before going to Ruff Ryders
They was always w Ruff Ryders even when they was w Bad Boy. But Dee & Y was the Lox management at the time. So when they were trying to get off Bad Boy, Ruff Ryder’s was securing their deal w Jimmy Iovine & Interscope in 1998-99 they wanted to add the Lox to their label. So Jimmy Iovine helped get them off Bad Boy so it could happen. It worked out the end cuz the lox became more successful eventually getting all their publishing back from Puff down the road & the business relationship that Jimmy Iovine has w Puff grew from there along w Iovine’s relationship w Double R. Bc nobody can say anything bad about Jimmy bc when his artists needed him he took care of them
Damn... This recommentadion just hit different now.. rest in peace X
RIP King. This song gets me so amped. Who needs coffee when you can listen to this in the morning.
I knew this beat was simple af but it made it legendary.
GTG Beats this beat is simple now but at that time, it was hard to make
GQDADON1000 back then it was more difficult cause he was probably looping through the MPC. Now that loop, I can do that in 3-5 Minutes Tops in FL Studio. Technology made it more simple to create music.
He actually used this same beat for 3 songs. X get at me dog, Mase will they die for u, beans and jay z raw and uncut
Very simple
Why is there no mention of EPMD using it before he did, "Get the Bozack"?
E.P.M.D used the same sample 10 years prior on "Get The Bozack."
Exactly, the same breaks and everything. I guarantee that the freestyle was just rapping over that instrumental.
@@svh01 yeah this guy has some self-importance trip going on. old heads knew X bodied it but we knew it was EPMD track he was spitting on.
@@cameron_fairchild Exactly, to quote Chuck D, "Stole a beat, Paid ZERO"
@@svh01 Hey man, he flipped it in a different way, built it up a bit. I'm sure the man knows who originally took it, that's Deaf Jam, c'mon now.. And there was a group from Canada that flipped it around that same time as well, anyone know what I'm talking about? I forgot the group's name.
@@sgtcreasegrease Naw bruh, he slowed it down a little and DMX ripped it but that's about it. LOVE the track, but for him to act he constructed without a mention of EPMD feels a little shady.
EPMD sampled the original song too in 89 on Get the bozack. Damn near the same beat.
Tell em fam he just re used the beat
yes this is true!!!
I'm like we just gonna fail to mention that beat too lol
@@adrianbatey3357 THANK YOU!!! DJ Clue and Duro did the same thing with the song “Ryde or Die”. That was just EPMD “Headbanger”.
It is the same beat.
Yo...I am 50...This is my golden era. These people were/are geniuses! Long live these greats!!!!!!!!
RIP DMX man this was the first place I came to when I heard the news 🙏
Did he really not big-up EPMD for using their beat?????
First thing I thought of. His version just a touched up version
No mention of EPMD tho?? Come on yo. They looped it the same way back in 1989. Epmd - Get the Bozark.
R.I.P. DMX
🔥🔥🔥. need genius to link up with timbaland and deconstruct missy elliot - sock it to me.
D'Artizt please
WORD
He needs to deconstruct anything, I need to see that
D'Artizt or *Lick Shots* or *At it again*
Yes lawd
I'm laughing at him doing the beat for "Get at me Dawg" like EPMD didn't give him the blueprint with "Get the Bozack"!
😂😂😂😂
Yeah it's funny to talk about everything but the song they took to make this one. Gotta show EPMD some respect.
Glad I ain’t the only one thinking this. No mention at all.
DMX's version is better anyways
@@no1u521 Get the bo the bo the bo bozack.
Yeah yeah. Everything was stolen from Eric sermon version 🤣🤣. He did nothing new. Even the repeats. Damn.
Nowhere on this video does Dame mention "Get The Bozack" tho...smh
I miss my dog DMX. He is and still a real dog. ✌️
Dope interview!
Today is the 23 year anniversary of Its Dark and Hell is Hot. R.I.P DMX!🙏🏾💔 we love you❤️

Yo I love this beat its so greedy
RIP DMX, such a shame, the guy had so much talent!
he was a legend. r.i.p DMX
Do Hail Mary or I get around by tupac
lord louie The guy who produced 'hail mary' died man.
allroundlad You sure? I saw an interview 3 years back on the guy who produced it talking about the studio session of hail mary with pac...unless he died recently...?
Oh that's weird I looked it up and i'm wrong but I distinctly remember seeing on wikipedia a producer who had been jailed and had committed suicide by jumping off a balcony in jail. I was sure it was the producer of 'Hail Mary' but I guess not. Now I want to know who the actual producer i'm thinking about it.
Nevermind it was 'Johhny J Jackson' who produced for Tupac and committed suicide by jumping from a higher tier level in prison after being sentenced to 3 years for DUI.
fuck tupac!
This is really just Dame and X's version of EPMD's-Get The Bozack
*The Making of Hail Mary - Tupac ! we need this.*
Lucas Miotto and ride on our enemies.
FUCK TUPAC!
Sam Rodgers are u nuts?

I need more classic beat breakdowns like this, the stories surrounding them are so interesting and dope
R.I.P DMX 🕊
Make what you were just dancing to. Dropped a jewel right there
Mase also used this sample on Will The Die 4 U
Dame Grease Legendary... I Recorded and mixed this song the same night. You didnt tell them that he recorded 3 different verses for each verse. That's 9 verses in all. All in one take. With the famous adlibs growls and barks... classic. You bought the gritty back to nyc... peace Bro. D'Anthony Johnson Recording and Mix Engineer. Get At Me Dog...

EPMD get the bozack unfinished business album.1989. Surprised that wasn’t mentioned. Get the bozack is a classic. When I hear get at me dog the thing I said was “thats get the bozack”

Monster Beat!
One of my all-time favorite songs. I could be in the worse mood and this always hypes me up!
That prime DMX was no joke
So many jewels dropped in this 5 mins. I always felt like the hip hop tracks back in the day were a little off time. Now I know.

Anthony Colon nigga he ain’t dead
Backwood Bandit no shit goofball..imma x fan..BEEN an X fan since 98..so when I speak, don’t comment..now mind my business..LONG LIVE X

Dre H by the way, LONG LIVE X
Dame is so underated! 🎵
Great to see how my all time favorite song ever was created
HERE FOR THIS.
MIND BLOWING.
Dame Grease is the BEST producer for Dame Grease is the BEST producer for DMX. Can’t Nobody capture the RAW and DARK Dmx like him. He is to X like Dr Dre is to Snoop
Dame Grease is cool, but Swizz Beatz is who made X pop off.
Dudes dark production was hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This beat is from EPMD....GET THE BOZACK....
Wonder how it would be in studio with DMX only to get sudden short exclamation bursts.. I'd get a heart attack every time
CHADD SIMON 😂
Dame is a legend. Thanks for blessing the culture.
We need more beat breakdowns from boom bap beats I would love to see some of Nas producers breakdown some of his beats
Dame one of the illest. he took that sample and just created something incredible
Epmd had that same beat..."Get the bozack"
DMX is fucking legend
Wow,I love this beat
I like when they go on the vault. Every throwback Thursday they should do this.
"Back then it was on the Akai SP 1200 but we using Ableton now"
LEGENDARY.
