Pretty weird to have laptop on this ad as the keys on the laptop look more inviting than these "keys". These are not even velocity sensitive, right? You can change the velocity but it is still fixed. So I don't know why you would ever use this with a laptop. Also the brother has a backpack on the video. Surely you could fit a normal nanokeys in there
I make music since 15+ years on trackers with the pc keyboard... you have 2 rows of 12 characters + 1 row of 10 it is almost 3 chromatic octaves. But having a piano-layout keyboard is also nice so this product make sense and it's quite affordable
I have been looking for something like this for quickly inputting notes for notation software so I don’t have to have a midi keyboard sitting at my desk. There are key commands for it but it’s kinda annoying to input notes with key commands. I definitely wouldn’t try to perform music with this.
To be clear: i don't hate it, i just would like to know more. (presses button on screen) I have the volca drum and it's really neat. I would buy them all if i could, because they're, versatile, intuitive, sound great and are.... small. I barely have enough space on my desk so it helps me being motivated to do something, because setting up gear upsets me sometimes. I'm not making music, i make room and cable management, it's frustrating. But if you show me your new, small keyboard, i need more info. What can it do besides being small and foldable? It's a nice video, throw in some unobtrusive text here and there. Going into a café to make music alone doesn't convince me because most people, when in public, make noise. LOTS of it. And walking across the street while a red light is showing doesn't either. If i am going to get hit by a truck, at least give me some decent info on your product.
This needs an iOS/iPadOS/Android equivalent of the Korg Kontrol Editor. This is the #1 thing keeping me from buying any more Korg controllers, and the nanoKey Fold needs it even more than the others.
I waited for the whole video to get a comprehensible view on how the keys work/might feel. Now i'm just thinking they look like those awful membrane switches on the cheapest of remotes. I would prefer capacitive ones like the volca series, with adjustable sensitivity added. Maybe they are and i'm just stupid for assuming that they are not. I know some people hate these but that's just normal for everything ever created.
Porque esto sería mejor que los Nanokey? No le veo un uso práctico para tocar en vivo. Sólo para secuencias en estudio y sin la flexibilidad de manejar la velocidad mediante la pulsación de las teclas (que ahora son botones).
I've had the $25 version for 5 years now. This one is simply fixing a problem that didn't exist for a higher price plus, the key design imo just reminds me of an aftermarket car stereo remote, just not it. Pointless design, but still an amazing technological achievement.
As a keyboard player, I don’t see how I’d actually use this. Little buttons instead of keys is a no for me. I could see it being used for generating song ideas on the go.
It’s for data input. Like when you need to do step input on a piano roll or notation software. It’s not really intended to perform music on although I suppose you could if that’s what you’re in to. It’s kinda like the OP1.
It’s actually exactly what I have been looking for my notation software. I often write out sheet music and the practice/perform it on piano. I don’t like having a big midi keyboard at my desk where I write music.
According to the manual, it does not support aftertouch. And while it does send velocity, the key buttons are not velocity sensitive. You hold two buttons to go into a shift mode and then you can use the key buttons to set the velocity from 10 to 127 in increments of 10 that the keys will send.
I like the idea of a foldable keyboard, but those keys are worst than using the actual computer keyboard at that point... So unless you hate to use your tablet screen as keyboard I don't see the point. BTW nobody will stop music, not even the red light of a semaphore it seems... It may sound like a "rebel thing" to do; to me it just give even more ideas to some kids these days, and they don't really need that type of encouragement.
Seriously, WTF is the deal with crossing the road when the sign says "No". Ok, I'm 62 years old and way out of touch with today's youth, but safety applies to everyone/all ages. Remember the old slogan/PSA "Cross at the green, not in between."? Korg - you are doing a real disservice promoting this type of "rebel" behavior.
Brother at this point just use the QWERTY keyboard

@maomao180 yeah I'd much rather use the computer keyboard over these microwave buttons . Those look like such a pain to use

Can’t wait for people at Starbucks to see that I’m a real producer.
Please make this but with bluetooth
Dude is a friend with danger! Crosses road on red and plays a bubble wrap wired to his computer for some reason 😂
I usually stop walking mid intersection , then bust out my mpc one for a quick jam
Is that really the best you could come up with for keys
Just what I needed. Ordered one right away 😊

Foldable keyboards now becoming more of a thing on the market I see
I’m definitely buying one lol

Black hands also plays Korg instruments \o/
Ridiculous 😂
👍 nice
Bro, do you even dold brew?
If you’ve got a laptop, why would one use a smaller sized keyboard?
OMG Sick
We have Micro Freak at home.
MEMBRANE KEYS????!!! You could have done something cool like the MicroFreak
Membrane allows to put the fingers on without triggering, it is way more playable that touch sensors like microfreak...
Does it have aftertouch and velocity.

@RobertFisher1969 thanks for explaining. I guess I'll buy a different mpc/keyboard
Wouldnt want it even for 20€ from a second hand market
Are those buttons??? 🫣🫠
Very useful… .
Perfect upgrade to the nanoKey
It's better than a touchscreen, but looks worse functionally than other nanokey versions.
🤯
Was that awful audio made with one?
Today is not 1st April
🥰
Take my Money.
great looking thing but overpriced by 50% imo
Ikr, although from the responses to the video it seems Korg knows their audience. A sucker is born every minute, etc.
iOS compatibility?
Yes, shown on the Korg site
So glad I went to 5U (human scale) synthesis. This is getting ridiculous.
Ah yes, modular. A much more reasonably priced market
What the hell is going on with this company? WHO ASKED FOR THIS?
🗿 korg,,,,, w h y

Zero innovation
WTF? you guys need better RAD
