I would love to see this used on one of those realistic ballistic bleeding dummies that Garand Thumb uses to see the trauma damage like broken ribs, hydro shock injuries etc.
I like options, but I would personally use a slick concealed carrier instead. The extra weight pulling the t shirt around would drive me nuts, and I'd also prefer a panel that wraps around instead of just a square, though I understand the idea is to protect the vitals. Just seems kind of loosey goosey to me. To each their own though, definitely better than no armor.
I’m a proud owner of this armor. It’s honest worth every single penny. I was hoping you’d test it out with the shot shell that it is rated to defend against. Regardless great video
I also own this armor and I completely concur . It is indeed worth every penny and more . They also offered a discount since it was my first order which I took full advantage of before purchasing it . If everyone was smart enough like us to purchase bulletproof armor there would be a lot less fatalities in regard to people being killed by guns . Most people only buy guns but don't think about actually keeping bullets from perforating their bodies and becoming fatally wounded or seriously injured by having bulletproof armor if they get shot . Hope he does do a video on testing this armor on 12 guage shot gun shells which it is also able to defend against since it is level IIIA bulletproof body armor. I would also very much love to see him test it against knifes, because it is rated to be stab and slash proof/resistant. Where I live we in the East Coast we had almost 600 murders last year in 2021 ,so I definitely had to buy this item which was in October of 2021 just several months ago .
Thanks a lot for the video, man . I bought this armor recently just several months ago in October 2021 and it's definitely worth the hundreds of dollars that I spent on it. It's absolutely cool to wear whenever I travel outside of my house and I feel invincible since I know that it will make me essentially bullet proof from most guns that people commonly use for self -defence . Most people who get shot are killed or injured primarily by handguns, so this body armor is completely utilitarian advantageous, and useful . Most people are too ignorant to know better to buy bulletproof armor ,and only invest in guns which is entirely foolish on their part . Making yourself bulletproof by purchasing a product like this is still a novelty to a lot of people ,so they are unable to fathom the overall practicality of it . Wearing this armor will give you a tremendous advantage in any gunfight. I feel like James Bond aka 007 when I have it on my person .
@Air Shootist Not might it will actually save someone's life if they wear this body armor. Think about it ,statistically speaking most killings happen as a result of being shot by handguns . As long as the wearer of this bulletproof armor is not shot in the throat or head which is quite uncommon than they should be perfectly fine .
Thanks for giving me the info on this premier body armor EDC now I can wear something with my concealed carry been wanting some kind of body armor for everyday use but didn't want to wear a big old bulletproof vest just to be safe nice to know that they have something like this that I can wear in the mall and such
10mm doesn't get you close to .41 magnum levels much less .44 magnum. It ties or beats .357 energy levels most of the time though not in buffalo bore hardcast. Good body armor and great video Eric.

I've really gotten into armor since I escaped Minneapolis during the Floyd riots. Got 3a+ soft armor plus lvl4 plates. Even got my fiance a concealable vest.
I could see using this shirt / carrier under a plate carrier to stop spalling and maybe soften the impact a bit, a little extra protection never hurts. I could also see using this as a safety device on the farm when using a forestry mower. If you ever had some debris get by your safety cage you will understand the reasoning there as well. I have come off the machine looking like I was drug by a horse through briars many a day after mowing, and even required stitches a few times.
I bought one a few months back and I wear it everyday at this point super comfortable I forget I have it all the time. Very light weight and comfortable its only saved be from a few pokes to the ribs so far. lol
Eric, I wish you would put some clay behind the plate, if I don’t know how much backface deformation is caused you can’t say wether or not it would save a life. Also the clay makes it so the Kevlar has something fairly firm to hold it in place while it takes a hit.
I would love to see this against 300 blackout subsonic. I believed an old video showed s&b subsonic punched through a lot of body armor where 45 and 10mm didn't.
Just like anything else, you need something you will actually wear. Like you wouldn't try to conceal some big honking pistol in your summer shorts, better to have something practical that you'll use than something of superior performance that you end up leaving at home
I wonder if the deformation could still kill. Not sure how deep it would go. And is a .22 more of a threat because of the speed? Maybe combine this with a trauma plate.
Looking at how animated the shirt becomes and allows for plate expansion being so loose on the dummy. I wonder if it being tighter like how it is on you, changes the the dynamics of expansion and absorbs less energy.
It’s just too gimmicky. I get it, I’d rather have some broken ribs then a hole ik my chest but in this case, you’d still experience some form of massive internal bleeding and possibly lung collapse if shot in the plate. I’ll stick with my PACU soft body armor, which does the job just the same but covers more area and is still very concealable
Yeah that would be nice to have but I also know people that carry 44s and 45s If it will stop a 45 caliber I’d be good with that so but thank you for all your testing Eric and thank you for your service to our country
Based on what I have seen on Kentucky Ballistics there is no better protection than making a vest from a bunch of Stretch Armstrongs. Those things seem to stop everything. 🙂I would think those .44 mags would have turned organs into jelly even if they did not pass through, but still a nice armored shirt.
just kevlar and spandex.... u can make the same armor about half as thin and more flexible with laminated UHMWPE..... they want 300$ for 1970s technology off patent. R&D was done by dupont chem.... not very innovative imo.... would have liked to see them use newer tech. kevlar expires relatively quickly compaired to polyethylene
Good to know about. Maybe it needs to be a tiny bit wider in the lower end as it can bend with the body somewhat. That 22 rimfire could zing around into a kidney from the front. Be Well.
Edit: man that 22 is sick! How much that weapon cost just bare bones? Ay yo I got the same green army fleece/wearing mine right now lol idk how I got away with it from CIF ha I deployed 4 times to Iraq from 2004 to 2012 and I believe it was my third tour in 2009-2010 when those fleeces came out as part of the Army's new cold weather system and fire retardant line. I hated the ACU era because a lot of the matching gear and clothing items were cheaply made and low durability, but that fleece is probably my favorite and the best new (well, new back then) Army issued clothing item ever produced from the beginning of the ACU era to the end. I wish we had the camo/duty uniform back then that the new generation of soldiers are wearing now. ACU was years of dogshit lol although I think the green Class A's we wore back then look way better than the Dress Blues or whatever TF the Army is on now.
It'd be nice if they feathered the edges with a gentle angle. It's a good concept but it prints like mofo. If you have to wear heavy clothing to conceal it, You might as well wear a low profile carrier/vest. You'd have more comfort. That shirt will be flopping and sliding around all day.
.45 ACP is well within the capability of any IIIa armor to stop. .50 AE is not within the ratings and unless it was one of the lightest loads would probably defeat the vest.
