I usually wait until I'm ready to epoxy the last layer and clean the rims and inside. A little rubbing alcohol or acetone on a paper towel will take paint right out
Mandy, Normally, after I epoxy first layer and its cured, I just wipe inside and the rim with acetone. If you paint open side down, no paint gets inside, but it may get on the top at the rim. Hope that helps!

Before epoxy tumblers were a thing, I sealed with clear spray paint. Between each layer, I would bake in the oven at 200 for about 30 minutes. I can't suggest you do that since I don't know how safe it would be. I do know from the research we were all doing back then, it appeared safe. But, I honestly can't promote it.
If you bought paint with primer why do you have to use sandpaper. I only used the paint with primer and it was fine. Didn't know you could use gloss paint alot of people said to use flat never gloss that's why I didn't buy the gloss but I see from those video it doesn't matter
Sorry I missed your comment. I always sand to give the paint a little bit of a rough surface to adhere to. Some folks don't sand, but I prefer doing it to assure the paint won't lift. Gloss is just fine. It's just a base to help hide the stainless color when you apply your glitter. You don't have to do a base coat if you don't want, but stainless may show through, depending on glitter and the color.
To confirm, you didn’t add any primer for the pink spray? Is it necessary to use primer? I have some sitting around at home but not sure if it’s necessary
The Rustoleum 2X Cover has a primer in it, but it's probably not necessary since you are epoxying over whatever you put on the cup, which locks everything in

Sorry for the delay. I missed this. I have seen people glitter over the plastic cups. My only concern would be that they may be too hot with coffee in them or sweat with a cold drink and the epoxy that would be over the glitter would separate.
Yes, I believe the higher the # , the finer the grit. You would not want to use something like 1500. I use a sort of coarse grit, but dont have any particular one I use. You just want to knock of any coating and scratch it up a bit to give paint something to grab

After the paint dries do I need to wash the outside before epoxying?
When I have done epoxy over paint, I do not wash the outside. Just be sure it's fully dry before epoxy.

Denatured alcohol if the regular rubbing alcohol isn’t working, do this outside thought and rinse thoroughly after paint is removed

Is that a cake turner? Also, 220 is not rough, it’s fine. The lower the grit, the rougher the it is.
Yes, those could be used as a cake turner. I love those things, so many uses!
