Water in the lower travel cases is common. I drained probably 5 gallons out of the lower end on my Northwest 41. Its all condensation from those heavy castings.
And the more machines you collect the harder it is to keep up with keeping water drained from gear cases, running everything every year, keep fresh gas in gas machines, checking antifreeze or draining water. Yet I continue to keep my eyes open for more and make plans to make necessary repairs but it’s what keeps me going. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.
Yeah, I know them heavy castings can sweat something fierce, I drained and replaced the oil in all cases in Summer of 17’ and she had a long sit after that but I didn’t think I could get gallons out. And after looking it over it’s not open to rain anywhere. So. Yup. I am surprised!
