All I can say is WOW!!! Your plants are gorgeous!! I'm glad to hear you talk about the realities of plant care and matching the plant's care with your willingness to do certain things and what you dislike (floor cleanup). That makes caring for plants much more realistic...and in reality...more fun. It feels less obligatory. Loving the long form video BTW. Thanks for sharing your collection.
Thank you so much for all those kind words! I really appreciate it. Actually, I'm probably going to steal some of them for my bio because I've had trouble putting my approach to plant care in the right words. 🤣 Thanks again! 💚💚💚
Morning gorgeous! I have fallen in love with you for just one sentence....I shouldn't get more Alocasias as I don't have enough space 😂 fab! I need your advice badly! Two days ago for my birthday I got Polly and I LOVE them, beautiful leave plants, but I previously successfully killed some of them😢 so I need all the advice I could get.
I also grow my alocasias in self watering pots with very chunky mix of leca, perlite, vermiculite, seramis, pumice, orchid bark and peat moss. They do well like this.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! Alocasia is one genus I’ve struggled with, and I’ve never believed the one in, one out theory. Your care videos are very helpful, I appreciate you!
I really appreciate how you organized your video. I felt like you were just having a convo with me. ❤️❤️❤️ I'm so glad that I found your RUclips channel
I do use beneficial bugs specifically for spider mites monthly as a preventative in the summer since I live in FL and so far I never had a spider mite problem an I have 18 different Alocasias. For me, it works. The other parts of seasons I just wipe down my leaves when I water all of my plants. Love your information on Alocasias.
This is my first time of your channel. I have a black velvet and it's flowering. You are just such a beautiful human and a wealth of knowledge. I absolutely love your personality and how you interact with your plants. 💗
Thank you for confirming my suspicion that my Alocasia Tiny Dancer losing a leaf after growing another one was not normal! I didn’t think it was either! All I could think was “how will my plant ever get any bigger or make any progress if that’s the case?”. Turns out she is root bound and has roots coming out the bottom of the pot! I’m hoping this is the reason why she’s unhappy because otherwise I’m stumped. She has 12 hours of bright indirect light and high humidity with constant air flow. This video cleared up so much!
You are adorable! Love your real approach to plant care. As low key as you are, it’s obvious that you really know what you’re talking about. Thank you so much for this video!
I'm torn between hoping my Alocasias will grow as big as yours and worrying about where I'll put them if they do! 😍😂 I'm in the process of transferring all of mine to self-watering pots, some in pon and some in soil, and they do seem to love it!
used rice husk, + perlite + peat moss + pumice, you can mixed peat moss and coco peat, trust me all alocasia species love it, i have 50 species of alocasia, included caladium and colocasia.
Love that tip about the feather duster! I've had lots of run-ins with bugs and tried all the sprays, but what I've decided is that the most important thing is mechanical removal. I like to spray my plants with the shower hose, to get all the buggies off. I have found that is way more effective than any pesticide...and WAY less work! But I love the feather duster because that means I wouldn't have to even move my plants! ha ha...getting one today
I am very curious about the feather duster, it seems like such a good tool! But wouldn't you have to clean it once in a while? And how would you go about cleaning it?
Really happy to run across this video. I picked up a variegated “Lucifer” from Home Depot last week. There were 3 plants in it, HUGE pot. Two are variegated, one of those has reverted but the smallest is all variegated. I’m not a huge Alocasia person and just have a silver dragon that I’ve been battling with. I put the two variegated plants in semi hydro so I’m glad to see you approve. But not before harvesting the 10 corms in the pot:)
New plant mommy here!! I can’t get enough of your Alocasias and monsteras 🤭 you’re the reason I bought an Adansonii and a deliciosa…now this vid is tempting me to get an Alocasia…I think the feather 🪶 duster and dusting it off like a maid in a novela sold me 😂🤭 Anyway great content and new subby ❤
Not sure if you mentioned your location, but I know Alocasias are tropical. I live in LA where its very dry and hot desert climate. My Alocasias have 1-4 leaves at the most, and the leaves don't grow very much. I watch a lot of plant content but most people don't mention their location so i'm wondering if you think it makes a difference where your are located. I love your videos!
I was starting to struggle with what to do with some of my plants. They're doing ok but I still felt they weren't 100%. This video was absolutely amazing and I now know what I need to do to help them out! We have similar tastes in plants too! I would love to see more about the different types of alocasia that you have too but I'm looking forward to the different projects you have planned!
I’m so happy I was recommended your channel. I just can’t relate to lots of these plant channels. They feel a little snobby and too curated. Their process it complicated. Just not me. I’m a novice. Your personality is wonderful. I love the simplicity of your suggestions and your esthetic is lovely.
I love your content so much and I am excited you created a RUclips!! Your videos aren’t full of annoying fluff, cleanly edited and your collections is amazing. I would love to recommend you doing a video talking about how you propagate your cuttings, if you do. I would also love a video on what plants thrive in lechuza pon vs which are best in a soil medium I would love a video on your care tips for your different anthuriums, like you did with this Alocasia video ! Have a great week ❤
Thank you so much for the kinds words. Those a great video ideas. I can definitely do a video about which plants i recommend Pon for and which ones I believe do better in soil! 😊
How in the world have I never seen your channel!!! I love your energy and your plants are just magnificent! So pretty and healthy and I also love your hair lol Started following on IG as well your going to love the dragons breath its one of my favs for sure it grows super fast and the leaves size up so nicely as it matures. Have a wonderful day!!!❤❤😊
FEATHER DUSTING!!!....WORKS GREAT!......i've tried all sorts of potions, lotions only to "WORK" the plant over to the point of death. this is a great tip, thanks for sharing🤗
First video I'm watching of yours and I absolutely love you! (and your gorgeous plants!) You seem to be no-nonsense and really funny (and of course, informational!). Thank you for the tips, I'll know what to do with my new Silver Dragon :D
I’m back, so happy I found your video. I’ll probably watch it over and over because it is so informative and I admire all your plants and I want mine to be like yours. Love, love, love your video. The plant site you referred me to is great and the prices are very reasonable. Thank you!!!!
I love your alocasia collection very much. They're so beautiful am a bit jealous. My collection is not so bright, but I can grow it outdoors. Growing them outdoors is a different thing all together. Only hardy species, all giants and countless offshoots every year to trade with other hobbyists..
So jealous of your lighting !!! I am growing my alocasia collection. I just splurged and got an albo odora - so many corms, lets hope they are variegated lol!!
Your plants are amazing! A testimony to your knowledge and care. I’m just starting with Alocasia’s … on a side note are you by chance in Canada? I noticed your potting soil bag in the early part and I thought you might be in Canada. 💞
I like your feather duster idea. Plants I can still lift I carry to the shower and stroke each leaf as I shower them. I take a wash cloth to my big plants, but if a feather duster works for you, Hallelujah! My poor old back thanks you for the tip. God bless you.
OMG, the duster idea is genius!! How come I never thought of that?!! Thank you! I'm glad that I watched it through the end of this video :) I saw a tiny baby Silver Dragon at a garden center. I was hesitant as the silver color was rather dull but after seeing your well grown plant, I think I want to go back and get one. Well, if there's any left by the time I got back to the store.
WOWSER! I can only hope & pray that my baby Alocasias grow up to be half the stunning plants you have. Thank you for all the great information. Especially, about the fertilizer you use & that you use it for every watering 1/3 strength. Because I heard they were big eaters.

Thank you for this amazing advice! So tired of all the "Oh, this plant is supposed to drop leaves" stuff I see online. I feel like healthy leaf dropping is only really a thing for outdoor plants, or plants that can be propagated by leaves and are trying to spread (burro's tail). Totally subscribing!
I've just bought a small Alocasi Bambino... the Leaf pattern did it for me ... thank you for your video it is going to help my keep my new plant healthy...
Wouldn't that just spread them all over the place? I had spider mites once on a syngonium I bought locally from a private seller. I took it outside, hosed it off two days in a row, and haven't had any since.
I just wanted to say that I got most of my alocasia in pon because of you and they are finally THRIVING!! I have been able to buy some wishlist plants and even some variegated ones because of your advise, so THANK YOU!!
Wow, I’m so happy to hear that! It’s such a great feeling confidently buying wishlist plants and knowing they have an excellent chance of survival. Happy growing! ☺️🫶
These are great tips! I have acquired a dying alocasia and it needs some serious help. I don't want to do trial and error to see what works. You have some great advice and really prove it with your beautiful plants!
Diva , where are you originally from, what island, Barbados , Jamaica ..? Thanks for the longer videos 😊 could you do corms step by step with monthly update. Also how you repot with your self watering system.
I bought my first Alocasia today (Dragon Scale). Hopped on RUclips to get some care tips and clicked on you. So glad I did. Great video! I subscribed. Will start binging your videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I use predatory mite satchels, and they removed my spider mites - they were like $2 a pouch and got rid of my mites in a month or so.
$2 a satchel?!? At that price I wouldn’t mind using and replenishing them. Do you mind telling me where you got them from?
Share the resource, I need this in my life 😂

Great info I can use. I need my love of alocasia to overcome my fear of dust mites!
Beautiful plants. I bought one a few weeks ago.

Beautiful plants and you have a great personality.
