I went back to the hamskea versa rest for both a 2022 Hoyt and Mathews bow. Honestly it’s still light but built to handle anything you throw at it. Did this also because of the crazy prices they are putting on these new arrow rests. I’m really excited to see about the new Hamskea Everest which is sub $200 and has the integrated mount to keep up with the new tech.

I’ve used both rests the QAD are nice due to your arrow doesn’t move around much, however I have been using the Hamskea Epsilon since they came out and I helped my arrow stay slightly more contained at rest with a Vaportrail shag pad on the riser shelf, really liking the Hamskea

I had 3 qads fail in a year shooting a lot. Switched to a hamskea and I’ve never had one fail. That said I went back to a qad this year on one bow and the newer ones seem better.

You can tie the QAD cord directly to the down cable without a bow press. Just serve above the knot to keep it from slipping out of position. The benefit of this method is being able to fix it in the field with limited gear.

The only positive to the qad is exactly what you said, it can hold your arrow up. I’m still choosing the hamskea every time. You said the qad is hunter friendly, but then you also said if it messes up, the hunts over…so just my opinion, the hamskea is a better rest and more hunter friendly.

Subbed. These are the 3 I’ve been considering personally. Can’t believe the weight difference. I like the simplicity of the QAD but do feel like a hamskea is more accurate. I think the best thing to do is having the hamskea on my 3D bow and getting the qad for hunting bow

Was a Hamskea fan but after trying an Integrate QAD, will never go back to those bulky Hamskeas unless they come in with a real integrate solution… Qad’s are so slick n light! Got my Rx8 on order with a mx2 rest

Qad for hunting - hamskea for target and 3D. I've never had either fail.

    Could you review:
    CBE Defy
    Ripcord Drive Cage
I think these two are more on the budget friendly side of arrow rests.
Would be nice to see more reviews on budget friendly gear. Thanks!

I always stick with QAD due to the smaller profile, ease of use, and less cord hanging around. I get the argument that Hamskea is easier to replace in the field but at the same time you have a lot more cord exposed to be snagged or cut. The Hoyt’s have a gap for the QAD cord to run through so it’s even more protected

I run the new CBE Defy (love it so far) on my Era. But, I’ve run the QAD HDX on my backup bow (and 3 other bows in the last 6-7 years) with no problems. I even have a QAD MXT on a “target” bow.

    Appreciate the opinions you shared!
I actually feel a lot the same.
I have shot both so know them well….
I hunt with the QAD….and now shoot year round with the QAD….
I won’t say ones better than the other but do shoot the QAD

I switched to Hamskea, no issues hunting with it. And I feel it's built better and more accurate. I always felt like I had to adjust the tune on the QAD. maybe just my experience

I had trouble with the QAD going out of time and I went to a Ripcord and have had no trouble with them.

Love my QAD light and never had any issues! I like the Hamskea but they are just so damn bulky and having the full capture of the QAD is nice! Archery is a mental game just as much as skill shoot what you’re confident in and what makes you happy!

I shoot a QAD on my hunting rig for the same reason….plus some bows can be a little finicky about where a limb driven chord is attached to the limb. Not a hard problem to solve but why deal with it if you don’t have to?

Been hunting qad for 2 years very happy, love arrow being captured while stalking in, so far no failures, hopefully I didn't just jinx myself😂

I like how my hamskea doesn’t get sticky? It’s hard to describe but the Mx qad is alright but I shoot the hamskea more betta!

I prefer the Qad I find them to be more quiet. I’ve never had any issues.
I’ve tried the hamskea and they’ve always been louder.

Anymore I prefer limb driven rests. Ez of setup and it has no effect on cam timing plus you can replace the string without a press.

I've got 5 Hamskea s on all my bows. Guys at pro shop hate using them bcuz take longer to install. But I disagree that and them
