    I bought the Valxala 2 yesterday. What a special headphone amp it is. I couldn't sleep. I was blown away listening to jazz with my Sennheiser Hd 650! Thanks for your nice review. Johnnie from Athens Greece.

      Congratulations! That's the one big downside of the Valhalla - it leads to sleepless nights. Thanks for watching.

    Excellent analysis of these two great amps. It answered the age old question, which one do I buy?? Answer: Both!

    I think I need to do some ear pushups: I can only detect minimal difference between the Magni 3 and Valhalla 2 when used with my HD600

    what i need to buy if i have HD660s2?
    I bought a Fiio K7 and I was a little disappointed and I feel like something is missing and I just wasted money. And I've only just entered this world and these are my first headphones. What would you recommend I buy?

      I don’t have experience with either the 660s or the Fiio you bought. I’m also not sure what your budget is. If what you think is “missing” in what you’re hearing is “emotion” or “soul,” then I suggest trying to get your money back for the Fiio and get an Asgard 3 and a Modi dac. If you want a single box that does it all, get an Asgard 3 with either the ESS or multibit DAC. If you can’t return the Fiio or if a loaded Asgard is above your budget, maybe you can use the Fiio as a dac and then left/right outputs to output a signal to the Asgard. Or get a Schiit Magni amp with the optional internal dac for $189 plus tax and shipping. The good news is you have plenty of options from under $200 to just over $500 depending on your budget. I suspect any of these will be more musically satisfying than the Fiio. Good luck!

      I can't return the Fiio unfortunately. Will the Valhalla 2 not fit the headphones? Because I heard that this amplifier gives warm sounds, will it be suitable to connect it with the Fiio?

    Let's saw someone bought both Amps and want to drive both by the same DAC, what's the easiest way to switch between them without swapping cables?

    • @headspaceav
      @headspaceav  Год назад

      I am using a simple switch from Amazon. Search for “Solupeak U31.” Relatively inexpensive but good build quality and I’ve had no troubles with mine. There are many others like it to choose from.

      @@headspaceav yeah this looks perfect. Is there any noise introduced or degradation of the signal quality?

      Sorry for the delayed reply! I haven’t detected any sound degradation with it in place. And it beats swapping cables!

    Just because they're single ended amps doesn't mean you can't use balanced headphones with them.

    • @headspaceav
      @headspaceav  2 месяца назад

      The only way I know you can use balanced headphones with these amps is to use an adapter and one of the engineers at Schiit told me I should never, ever do that. The advice I’ve heard from sources who are proponents of balanced headphones is to get an amp that is designed from the core to be used with balanced headphones. Admittedly I’m not into balanced gear only because I don’t want the expense and am not interested in spending $$$ on headphone cables. I’ve got kids to feed and other hobbies to fund. :-)

      @@headspaceav You have it backwards. You can't use a headphone and single-ended cable with a balanced amp. As an example, the HD 600 series headphones can all be run balanced but can all be used with a single ended amp in fact most people use them with tube amps which are usually single-ended.

    I’ve been reluctant to buy another Schiit product after I’ve had two break on me.

      Wow. If you haven’t already I’d reach out to Schiit and try to send them in for a fix. I think you may be surprised, they might not even charge you.

      We use to order 300 to 400 computer at a time for deployment. Out of that many PC's there was always 10 or so PC's that came in and acted up with in the first 6 months of having them deployed. That's a 3% or less failure probability on same make/model of PC. Didn't matter what brand we bought it would always fall in that 3% to 5% failure rate. The smaller number orders like 20 or 30 PC's we would have maybe 1 PC act up, and the rest be gold for 5 or so years. It just showed to me over that the years that failure's are part of any mass produced product, but overall 3% failure rate is very common.
      Now for you to have two devices, guessing they are different devices and not 2 of the same meaning first device broke you sent it back then Schiit sent you a second device and it broke. Also what broke? Was it not working at all or was it broke like it didn't perform like it said it would? I ask because I am about to go $400 into a Schiit stack and would like to know if I need to rethink my options, maybe go Topping or Atom Stack?

    love the Asgard, you can try headphone or IEM.
    I use Modi => Loki => Asgard => ATH-R70X (460ohm) and I absolutely recommend the whole stack.
