- I made a compilation of some of the exciting, stylish and fun things you can do with the awesome combat system in Horizon Zero Dawn. Hope you like it.
All gameplay footage is my own and edited together by me.
Within the first five seconds, when you'd jumped onto a behemoth's back, I realised I think firmly within the box. Ace video. Very inspiring!

This is so incredibly impressive, it just makes me want to fight all the machines and try new tactics.
Thanks! The combat is deep and rewarding once you start using a little imagination and not just unloading arrows into everything. Love it.

The only weapon i didn't use..tripcaster..lol..now i want to..lol
@@barbarianzg8826 I was in the same boat for a while, just using arrows. Turns out the tripcaster that does damage is easily the best thing to use against most medium-big machines. Never thought of stacking them on trees though.

When The Frozen Wilds came along, getting the 3 Banuk Bows pretty much broke the game. You could easily take down any kind of machine using just those 3.
But prior to the expansion, it was fun to play with all the other weapons (their ammo cost a lot more resources though).
I never thought of jumping on the big machines' backs, holy shit

I accidentally discovered the 2nd cauldron which unlocks the overrides for thunderjaw! I was level 20 below! I went in there and saw the thunderjaw waiting to annihilate me. From the previous experiences, I placed all of my shock traps, blast wire traps all around the thunderjaw and started fighting him only after he lost 70% of it’s health. Then finished him up with even more blast wire. Then was the fun. I always override thunderjaw and watch it kill everything nearby! This game is so much fun!!

Wow. I have been using the Tripcaster all wrong lol. Why did I never try to move around my enemy after setting the first trip bolt? And here I thought ropecasting enemies into trip mines was clever...

You seem to really like setting traps and using strike from above. Edit: Its impressive how you rodeo machines without falling off. Even with big machines, that's not easy.

Holy Sh!t, when Alloy said "out of ammo but not out of ideas" you took that really literally, never thought of using tripwires on the trees or just sliding to set them, and the freaking sling bombs, dude, I felt so good yesterday when I passed the Nora Hunting grounds and I see you playing, Now I'm pumped! thanks for the video. its GREAT!
Been playing this game since the day it came out. This person is on another level...
This person plays it nonstop... well, at least that's from what I can see, because it takes a tonne of practice to become this adept at handling the controls... and also of knowing where to shoot or how to engage and timing etc. I play Dota on the PC. It's a type of Moba and it takes a long time to become adept. Like, I'm talking of thousands of hours. So, either this person plays these kind of games a lot or he or she has played this game a lot.
Ferdinandt - 私の名前はリガタンです yeah i just recently got this game. I thought I had a pretty decent advantage because I was used to paying the souls/borne games. Which certainly did help, especially at first. But I think it kinda stifled my creativity, as I was taking down most mobs by spear dodge roll spear dodge roll.
This guy opened my eyes to the insane possibilities in this game.
@@cluckeryduckery261 I see... I played The Last of Us, Tomb Raider and Uncharted. So, I'm used to playing the stealth game, but I'm not so used to this acrobatic fighting... But yeah, this person is doing extraordinary things, even by others whom I've seen playing the game. So, in that respect, I've learned a few things here and there as well. To execute it though... well, that's another story 🤣
@@liganjinxeseverything3174 I think I made this first video after playing the game over 150 hours. So you are right that you definitely need a familiarity with the mechanics, but also a sense of experimentation. It's easy to just spam arrow your way through the game, but the developers created a really deep combat engine, that it's a shame not to use it. Once I found out you can get on top of most of the machines without an instant knock off or damage penalty, well, that just opened up many more possibilities. I'm up to around 500 hours in the game now and still find myself thinking of new tricks.
@@pinhead9 500 hours? 😄 whoa... that is some marathon hey and you're still finding ways of employing new tactics? That's quite something... I'm at about 70 hours now and it's definitely gotten a lot easier after getting used to the controls and knowing and exploiting the weaknesses. Even normal mode is too easy now. But either way, nice job though. I'm sure I'll come around to use some of these tricks 😉.

Wow. Just wow. I think I'll try some of that. And I'm realizing more and more how actually good and handy tripwires are. Also..... I still have more weapons I need to get. I beat the game once already, but I feel like I'm still way behind... but that's ok, this game has such a long-lasting appeal.

I've played it six times and the last time on NG+ Ultra Hard and I'm still not bored with it. You can be as creative as you want as pinhead's fun video shows. Now I have to go and try some of his ideas, thanks for the video.

I remember one time when I was in that mission in the canyon with the tightropes on the sides. And theres a bunch of corruptors and human snipers. And I ran out of arrows and resources for the arrows, so I had to do almost all of the fight sequence only with the spear and it was the most epic and spicy moment of my gaming career when I succeded

I never once thought of jumping on top of the robots and I never used those sling shot bombs either. Really creative and impressive.

The logs are used in the Nora hunting grounds if I’m understanding you right
I've been following the social distancing regulations, only attack with arrows and keep distance. Seeing you riding those Sawtooth made me feel like a proper fool hahaha. Btw nice video, I'll try these sometimes.
I just love this trick hunting! You should try the sticky bombs and walk away from your opponent as it explodes, anime style.
