I have been doing industrial maintenance for the better part of 30 years. The video that you have shared is one of the most detailed, informative, and precise procedures that I have ever seen. I wish that just 10% of the work that I have performed would have came with instructions like these. But then again, the experience is what separates a true technician from a parts changer. Thanks for the video and the expert advice that you provided to make life a little easier for the rest of us. You didn't have to but you took the time to do it.
Excellent video I am about to take my turbo off I am 70 years old by watching your video it is going to make it much easier for a old man to do , thanks
I watched multiple videos on installing and pulling a turbo. Your comment on loosening the mounting bolts was spot on and made my rebuild a success. Thank you for that quick tip, it made the difference.
Great video. It's nice to see someone who's not camera shy or lacking information about the job at hand. It's not very inspiring to see vids where the tech guy can't put two words together or needs subtitles to explain what he's doing. Keep up the good work!
Erin Mcpherson Well thanks for that I do get camera shy at times but not when I am filming me doing something like this where I don't have to stare directly at the camera.
I've been working on big diesel trucks for over 20 years. Working on the 6.0 is a little different, ( room ) lol. This video is the best one I've seen. You did a excellent job doing a step by step on disassembly . Thanks, it help alot.
thanks for the video. i have an 04 F250 and my turbo vanes are sticking. this is the best video I've seen on how to remove the turbo so I can clean the damn thing.
Your replies are very thoughtful and well organized and I also notice you use correct punctuation...ie upper case letters and commas and periods where they should be...damn, you're a real inspiration to us motorheads out there!!
thanks for taking the time to make a good video. most of the videos ive watched are filmed from outside the truck. i appreciate the time you took to angle the camera so we can actually see what your doing. thank you
Hi, I want to thank you for providing a video that actually shows what we need to see. I am replacing my HPOP on my 2006 6.0 F250. My truck is worth about $8000, and the idea of paying $4100 because my repair shop (Motion Automotive) "thinks" it is bad, and guessing they plan to replace extra parts later. It has actually been fun. I replaced all the o-rings (80), on the injectors and oil rails. If the HPOP isn't the problem, I will replace the injectors. I just think you are great for actually providing a well made video.Thank you. You go Dude!
Thanks for the easy installation my I watch this video a lot of time and I can’t believe how easy it is to line up the back pipe. When I just follow your instruction. Everything in smooth
very well done video. I've watch dozens on this engine in the last few days. this is by far the most too the point, and loaded with info. much appreciate you mentioning each socket size, torque specs, and the interesting combination of tools you used for some of the harder to get to fasteners. makes it very easy to get everything setup and ready for the job.
Excellent job. I've used your channel previously for something else (can't recall what). I just replaced the original glow plugs on my 2003 6.0 @ 200K miles. Turbo R&R is next on the agenda. Keep up the fine work.
Thank you, sir. This is a tremendous help. I appreciate you giving the torque specs and the proper tools to use, also appreciate the fantastic camera angles. Very helpful!
Great video. I'm currently doing a HPOP STC fitting change and oil cooler change on a 2005 Excursion, and I got as far as removing the CAC tubes and air filter/intake tube assembly before I ran out of light. I remembered reading how difficult finding the turbo mount hardware was due to it being pretty cramped in the valley. But this video, with all of the detailed closeups really helped me out. Hopefully I'll be able to get the turbo out tomorrow and be one step closer to getting her running again.
How do I know that the turbo is problem w engine? What if I replace it and still have same problem? What is my test b4 I remove? Also about how much time should this take? What is parts cost? I was driving, not pushing hard. A big BOOM under hood. No place to pull over, I continued driving 10 miles, reduced speed to home base, greatly reduced power. How do I know it was not something else wrong? Pressure pump u mentioned?
I know it’s too late but I had this happen along with a reduction of power. My turbos intercooler popped out of the boot. Just simply had to put it back in and tighten the hose clamp better than the last guy and have been fine.
@ thanks for your reply. I did a lot of inspection of system and found the intake intercooler pipe into the turbo had blown in the flexible elbow near the radiator. Apparently the pressure just blew it like a balloon exploding. I replaced it myself. Not too difficult. Ford had no parts in stock . I ordered replacement set on line, 3rd party, worked well, different color , but ok! Lots less money than factory.
Took my truck to Ford for a now boost issue. They said the turbo needed to be replaced. I limped it back home and found your video. Good news is I got the turbo replaced. Great video and thanks for that help. Not sure I could have figured it out on my own. Bad news if Ford was wrong. Brand new turbo, still no boost.
THANK YOU I MISSED THE INTERCOOLER TUBE , IM DOING THIS ON A F 450 AMBULANCE ,I QUIT MY LAST MECHANIC JOB 10 YEARS AGO , I COULD NEVER GO BACK , GOOD INFO THANK YOU ,
Thank you for the video, I've been trying to get to my egr hose and this worked, it took me almost a week because I've only had hardly any time to work on it because it's been -10 to 30 degrees outside
Unless you are FordTechMakuloco or DieseltechRon RIP or a flat rate mechanic do your self a favor disconnect the batteries and remove the alternator. It is only 10-15 minutes extra and it makes so much more room to fight with the turbo that it is worth the extra time. Removing the alternator also lets you look at the belt and the pulleys at the same time which is especially important on a high mileage engine. Finding and dealing with a bad pulley bearing is a lot easier now than somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. Also it gives you a chance to inspect and clean the battery(s) terminals which could help to save your FICM so it really is a win win for just a little more work.
Yeah they have been really coming in recently I guess good for the videos but we haven't really seen them in awhile and now we have a steady flow of them. I have a high pressure pump fitting video coming out today also.
I got to call you out on this one thing. I like the idea of leaving the pedestal bolts loose to align the y-pipe and the downpipe . It seems like a great idea, but I have had trouble getting to those bolts once the turbo is mounted and you didn't show that part.
It works great been doing it for 10 years now, you just need the right adapters for the passenger rear bolt. The rest can be done very easy with basic universal.
I appreciate your response. I myself have been working on these 6.0s for a few years. I have one currently that I am working on that has given me a lot of trouble. It is a vt365 international version of this engine in a heavier duty truck. This particular engine has injection control pressure problems. The power is low and the ICP runs at 90% under load and 90% while cranking during a hot start. I have changed the high pressure pump out twice ,once with a used pump and the second time with a brand new pump. I have changed the regulator out at least a half a dozen times. I have pressurized the W pipes on both sides with the regulator energized and also installed a dummy plug on each side to make sure that the system had no leaks with an air pressure gauge. I suspect base oil pressure as a problem. This engine, hot, will only produce 6 and a half to seven pounds of oil pressure while cranking. I tested another engine while cranking cold, It achieved 60 pounds of oil pressure. I also tore down the front of this engine and inspected the oil pump and regulator . I didn't find any problems there . As I said before ,I have worked on a lot of these engines and this is a new one to me. Do you have any thoughts on the matter?
Great video that’s for showing me all the lines around it and explaining if it need o rings or not! I’m replacing all the lines right there and oil pressure sensor cause I’m leaking somewhere in there
Take note! The turbo mounting bolts are different on the 03 model and possible that the 04 is different too. The mounting bolt on the back is horizontal not straight up and down.
FordTechMakuloco is the 6.0 an easy engine to service as in it will take time but can get done I go through looking at so many trucks seems it doesn't matter what I look at to buy in the future they all have problems and I could make a book and since the 6.0 is an older engine can they use fuels with higher sulfer I would like to drive to Mexico and they don't have ULSD
I have a 2003 F-250 SD with the 6.0 and want to clean/inspect the turbo. How does the 2003 differ from the 2004-2007? It looks the same from what I can see.
Hey brother really appreciate the video cause some of those bolts are hard to get to, just an FYI for anyone who buys the turbo new from Amazon, it will come with the replacement paper gasket/orings/bolts/hardware in the box that pertain to hooking up the turbo.
good video, i like to remove the alternator as it gives a little more room. One drawlback is too many ads but good video, the pedestal mount loosening is something I have not seen before.. I have to remove my turbo and have fought with that stupid up-pipe before.. thanks!
Your video was great and helped me out emmensly but what u don't tell people is this video is for the mid year 2004 turbo removal! The 2003 to mid 2004 turbos are held on by that back bolt going in thru the back facing the front not straight down like the newer ones do, I felt around on mine for about 5 min's when I realize the bolt I thought was the right one actually turned out to be the right one and it takes a special wrench to get it off either u can make one or snap on now makes one and believe me it's a pain to get loose, other than that ur video is great thanks it did save me a lot of time,
Your videos are the best, hands down! I had a serious oil leak coming from the firewall side of the turbo area. Removed the turbo and my down pipe is drenched in oil. Hopefully that's the problem?
Execellent video/camera.thanks I could see exactly what your doing without standing on my head.youve helped me fix a couple 6.0l and I didnt geab to many tools....I owe you 1!
first off, very good video. i do have a question. when preparing to install the turbo back in you said to loosen the pedestal bolts slightly when aligning to the up-pipe. my question is when did you tighten them back up? either i am missing where you said it, or you didn't say. thanks!
My high pressure oil pump went out. According to Tenvoorde ford said something about the check valve failed. Is it really that difficult to get to it? Also something about the EGR valve wasn't closing correctly closing. My truck is a 2003 F250 SD.
Could I please get some tips on how to lose the three bolts that are so rusty to remove the turbo? That's the problem that I am running at the moment, and I can't remove the turbo. Thanks in advance!
Your video has saved me heartache and pain. i was working on the turbo today..to get into the EGR cooler im replacing. but it still feels all tight. i took off the 3 bolts and both clamps tryed prying it and everthing. i guess i will have to check if the upper clamp is sticking to the pipe instead the turbo. any more suggestion FTM?
hey jamelle i got the same ,,release the 3 bolts and clamps but it still strong there,,,did you know if there is another step to remove this?? thank you
+Caleb Holz here you go- www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008Y7R3NI/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B008Y7R3NI&linkCode=as2&tag=fordt-20&linkId=BVLSUPHB3XZ3WSZ7
I have a question I just purchased my first diesel truck its a 2003 f250 I noticed that it burns up diesel real quick I'll take a drive about 10 miles and it will burn one quarter or even more what could it be .ill appreciate any feedback.
excellent how to video,thanks,2004 6.0 liter powerstroke f250 when cold turbo works perfect, but once warmed up to operating temp will not go over 2000 rpm wher it looses boost and goes to vacume mode via MAP hose T.What could be the problem?thanks for now
On the min 8:28 and 12:09 you can see coolant sitting on the left side of the valley, where did that coolant came from? I had a mechanic fix a oil pump leak and now I have a coolant leak that originates on that left valley. The EGR has already been deleted. I can touch those to hoses and don't think is coming from there. please help
i have 05 f350 6.0, bought used 2 years ago, previous owner had new heads, gaskets, arp studs, egr delete and oil cooler installed. then sold it to me. truck had 147000 miles.i installed a edge evolution cts2 ,with degas sensor and fuel preasure sensor to keep watch on them. this is my daily driver ,i also pull a trailer alot .truck ran great for a year. truck now has 176000 miles , now the degas preasure is hitting 17 18 under load, and coolant coming out of the bottle. i took it back to the same shop that did the repairs and they said it failed the carbon test, most likely it has a cracked head, not bad gaskets, can i get your opinion on what to do . change heads again ????? im conserned about the quality of there work. help!!!! love your videos ,
Would you suggest that if I wanted to change the UP pipe that this would be the time to do it? Or is there more involved with replacing that pipe? I have already replaced the Exhaust with a Banks Turbo back system, that was a pain to get the 4" Pipe to connect to the turbo. The clearance was a big problem. Is there a way to know if I have the factory oil drain tube or updated one or should I just replace it to be safe? The vehicle is an 03 F350.
How did you get to the back passenger bolt for the mounting pedestal after the turbo is on? I was able to torque the other three bolts but can't get to that one with the turbo on...please help. Does that one really matter if I've got the other three torqued?
hey dude can you do a video on changing the dowel on a 6.0l diesel? from the 18mm to 20mm? i know they went to bigger headbolts i was just wondering what they did.. if it was just chenging the dowel's or if theres something else u gotta do
after I finished and I started the truck, my oil connection on top of the turbo started leaking bad, I did used the paper gasket and tighten good, is it ok use sealer or what am I doing wrong.
Thank you. This is the best instructional video I have seen on RUclips! You should do a video on How to do a video! lol Do you have a video on rebuilding a turbo on an 06 6.0 Powerstroke?
So i have a 2010 f250 6.4 and the water separator sensor came on two days ago so i drained it and it still stayed on. The fuel filters have been changed recently. Earlier today i was driving and the truck just shut off unexpectedly while running. I checked the pressures for the filters and their fine and my truck doesn't want to start anymore. Any suggestions to what could be wrong?
+Cinthia Guerra It really sounds like you got water in your tank and the system was trying to run on it an it quit. How does the fuel in the secondary fuel bowl look Golden clear not cloudy with a hint of green at an angle?
i think i need to do this, i have no codes, no turbo bark, but way to much turbolag and it only gets 18psi under load, and something like 14-15psi in 1st gear
The E-350 comes out the back. Should I split the turbo in place for easier removal? Oh and I don't know why you guys are complaining about the back bolt so much, I thought it was a piece of cake to get out ;-)
Hello, Ford Tec. Mecanic.i have a cuestion muy truck Ford power stroke 6.0 diésel wenis runnig then stop it shot off alone what you think is the problem also sone times a turned suich off and engine stills on march then a after 4ir 5 minutos shoot off hope you can help me thanks so much
I didn't see in the comments so I'm asking. How long did it actually take you in this video to take the Turbo out and reinstall it? I have 2003 F-350 which sat 1/2 of 2016 and all on 2017. Today Jan 1, 2018 I noticed when I started my truck the turbo is not working so I believe the turbine vains are not working properly (it's an old plow truck) so I'm taking the turbo and see if I can take it apart, clean the inside out and see if this works. If I but a new turbo I just junk the truck as a $1300 turbo is worth more then the truck is

BEST tip ever when doing this job @13:15. Leaving the bolts loose on the turbo pedestal makes the install soooooomuch easier and quicker. Thank you!!!
Excellent video I am about to take my turbo off I am 70 years old by watching your video it is going to make it much easier for a old man to do , thanks
I don't think I have to go this deep to find my oil leak but it's nice to see what's in store for me if I do. Great job bud.
Usually you do. 9x our of 10 it’s the hpop cover or the o-rings under the turbo
The one tool this requires that I don’t own is patience.

Same
This video saves me so much time and frustration. Had my turbo out, cleaned and back in in about 5 hours.
+tgmartin82 Frikin awesome!
Your replies are very thoughtful and well organized and I also notice you use correct punctuation...ie upper case letters and commas and periods where they should be...damn, you're a real inspiration to us motorheads out there!!
thanks for taking the time to make a good video. most of the videos ive watched are filmed from outside the truck. i appreciate the time you took to angle the camera so we can actually see what your doing. thank you
I used to do it all first person view and was told 3rd person view would be nice so I mix it up as shown in this video and it works out well.
Hi,
I want to thank you for providing a video that actually shows what we need to see. I am replacing my HPOP on my 2006 6.0 F250. My truck is worth about $8000, and the idea of paying $4100 because my repair shop (Motion Automotive) "thinks" it is bad, and guessing they plan to replace extra parts later. Thanks for the easy installation my I watch this video a lot of time and I can’t believe how easy it is to line up the back pipe. When I just follow your instruction. Everything in smooth
For those with a 2003, the steps will be very similar however the back turbo mounting bolt will be horizontal into the turbo and not straight down. 😊
He’s gotta pin this comment
we have one in the shop rn and removing that exact one was a living hell we ending up having to heat the bolt is there an easier way to get it out?
very well done video.

Good video!!! It's apparent this ain't your first rodeo and you've done quite a few of those.
Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to make these videos. They are excellent!
I wasted more time moving the harness out of the way then i did unbolting all the turbo connections lol Thanks for a perfect how to.
How do I know that the turbo is problem w engine? What if I replace it and still have same problem? What is my test b4 I remove? Also about how much time should this take? What is parts cost?

What ended up being the problem ?
This is one of the most helpful videos I’ve have seen and most appreciated.
9 years later! Thank you!!!
Very good video. I have to change that blue egr cooler hose and removing the turbo is the first step. You made it look easy. Thanks.
THANK YOU I MISSED THE INTERCOOLER TUBE , IM DOING THIS ON A F 450 AMBULANCE ,I QUIT MY LAST MECHANIC JOB 10 YEARS AGO , I COULD NEVER GO BACK , GOOD INFO THANK YOU ,
Ty so much for the how to video. Took all morning but without this video it would of been days. Step by step instructions were perfect.
thank you for the video, is very helpful since I'm going to change the oil ring on my f250 tomorrow
GREAT VIDEO IM CHANGING THE EGR COOLER ON MY TRUCK AND I COULDNT GET THE TURBO OFF BECAUSE I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE BACK BOLT THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEO
Tightening the pedastle bolts with the turbo back in is challenging. Wish that was in the video... other than that very informative!
Exactly. Egr pipe in the way on mine.
Ahhh yes back on the 6.0! I've been waiting for a new video thanks!!
Yeah they have been really coming in recently I guess good for the videos but we haven't really seen them in awhile and now we have a steady flow of them. I have a high pressure pump fitting video coming out today also.

Yup and the early ones are a nightmare to get off.

Snap On makes a wrench to help with this bolt specifically. The wrench and long pry bar make it easier to brake the bolt lose.
I have a 2003 F-250 SD with the 6.0 and want to clean/inspect the turbo. How does the 2003 differ from the 2004-2007? It looks the same from what I can see.
From what I've herd it's the number of bolts that bolts to the pedistool
Thank you!! I have been a tech for a little while now, I work for another Brand but this was so helpful!
Hey brother really appreciate the video cause some of those bolts are hard to get to, just an FYI for anyone who buys the turbo new from Amazon, it will come with the replacement paper gasket/orings/bolts/hardware in the box that pertain to hooking up the turbo.

Thank you so much. I’m looking at an Excursion with a 6.0 that has a bad hoop I was worried about doing this and your videos makes it look easy.
Hey thx for the video!! replaced my HPOP with no problem u saved me a grand!!
Nice!!
The best most informative video of this procedure by far. Thank you!
Your video was great and helped me out emmensly but what u don't tell people is this video is for the mid year 2004 turbo removal! Yeah the early turbos that rear bolt was such a paint
which is more difficult e-350 or f-250 to remove turbo on 6.0 thank u I’m a novice
9yrs later. Still a great video
How long does this job take an expert as yourself?
Your videos are the best, hands down! I had a serious oil leak coming from the firewall side of the turbo area. Removed the turbo and my down pipe is drenched in oil. Hopefully that's the problem?
Great video! Thanks for all the detail and great cinematography!
Execellent video/camera.thanks I could see exactly what your doing without standing on my head.youve helped me fix a couple 6.0l and I didnt geab to many tools....I owe you 1!

brock19 Get turbo all lined up and clamped onto up pipe then finish tightening the pedestal to block bolts.
I cant stand how you say "cack tube" lol but your videos are amazing keep up the good work
CAC tube: Cold Air Charge it is a Ford term what can I say?
Fantastic video thanks! Ordering the orings and I'll try to tackle this next weekend.
Thanks for showing how you put the damn thing back in to clear the drain pipe. Cursing at the moment but don't want to be banned.
My high pressure oil pump went out. According to Tenvoorde ford said something about the check valve failed. Is it really that difficult to get to it? Also something about the EGR valve wasn't closing correctly closing. My truck is a 2003 F250 SD.
Excellent, very detailed video. Best I've seen on the turbo install!
Could I please get some tips on how to lose the three bolts that are so rusty to remove the turbo? That's the problem that I am running at the moment, and I can't remove the turbo. Thanks in advance!
Where can I buy plugs like that blue one that was used to plug the coolant reservoir's pressure inlet?
great video, helped me remove my turbo to clean the vanes to clear a p0299 code.
Your video has saved me heartache and pain. i was working on the turbo today..to get into the EGR cooler im replacing. but it still feels all tight. i took off the 3 bolts and both clamps tryed prying it and everthing. i guess i will have to check if the upper clamp is sticking to the pipe instead the turbo. any more suggestion FTM?
hey jamelle i got the same ,,release the 3 bolts and clamps but it still strong there,,,did you know if there is another step to remove this?? thank you
thanks for the link to the gaskets, how do i get the green air inlet o ring?
+Caleb Holz here you go- www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008Y7R3NI/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B008Y7R3NI&linkCode=as2&tag=fordt-20&linkId=BVLSUPHB3XZ3WSZ7
I bought the truck new from the dealer. I cannot remove the clamp for the turbo down pipe because it's welder to the pipe from the factory
Nice work and great video production! I'm your newest subscriber!
How many RH side bolts have you stripped? Use a turbo socket and comes right out. Get a snap on one and have them replace every 10 turbos or so.
I normal don’t, it’s the person that was in there before me.
@@FordTechMakuloco
Sorry. Didn’t mean you caused the strip. 03’ terrible design caused.
I have a question I just purchased my first diesel truck its a 2003 f250 I noticed that it burns up diesel real quick I'll take a drive about 10 miles and it will burn one quarter or even more what could it be .ill appreciate any feedback.
+ernesto cervantes So your saying that in 40 miles the tank will be dry?
+FordTechMakuloco 55 miles what could it be when I start the truck I could smell diesel fumes by the air intake
+ernesto cervantes Ok then you have a fuel leak is this really a 7.3l?
I have a question, does the screw you took from the back of the turbo go down or is it stuck to the back of the turbo?
excellent how to video,thanks,2004 6.0 liter powerstroke f250 when cold turbo works perfect, but once warmed up to operating temp will not go over 2000 rpm wher it looses boost and goes to vacume mode via MAP hose T.What could be the problem?thanks for now
On the min 8:28 and 12:09 you can see coolant sitting on the left side of the valley, where did that coolant came from? I had a mechanic fix a oil pump leak and now I have a coolant leak that originates on that left valley. The EGR has already been deleted. I can touch those to hoses and don't think is coming from there. please help
Thanks for the well instructed and clear video with step by step method.
My wife and I watched this video to do our own swap. It only took us 3 hours
10:40 is exactly why so many of these trucks have a broken oil dipstick
I wish you would have shown how to make the turbo mount loose
Thanks man I appriciate it that back bolt is no fun though
i have 05 f350 6.0, bought used 2 years ago, previous owner had new heads, gaskets, arp studs, egr delete and oil cooler installed. then sold it to me. truck had 147000 miles.i installed a edge evolution cts2 ,with degas sensor and fuel preasure sensor to keep watch on them. this is my daily driver ,i also pull a trailer alot .truck ran great for a year. truck now has 176000 miles , now the degas preasure is hitting 17 18 under load, and coolant coming out of the bottle. i took it back to the same shop that did the repairs and they said it failed the carbon test, most likely it has a cracked head, not bad gaskets, can i get your opinion on what to do . change heads again ????? im conserned about the quality of there work. help!!!! love your videos ,
Very detailed video! I am ready to tackle removal from my 2006 F-350. Thank You!
Thanks for the very detailed video! It helped me change mines easy! Very much appreciated!
Small 1/4" extension set but if you cannot get to it the three in the front are more than enough.
FordTechMakuloco great. Thank you for the help and the great video
Very detailed!! You helped me out big time with this video!
This is a very good video.....one of the best I've seen....thank you for your help
hey dude can you do a video on changing the dowel on a 6.0l diesel? from the 18mm to 20mm? i know they went to bigger headbolts i was just wondering what they did.. if it was just chenging the dowel's or if theres something else u gotta do
Yeah sure if we ever see one again for head gaskets.
kool beans man! im sure you will! my uncles truck is an 05 with 103k km's on it they are still out there!
Question, what's the composition of the O rings?
Your a badass tech, sweet vid!!!! Thanks for sharing your expertise and craft!!!!
after I finished and I started the truck, my oil connection on top of the turbo started leaking bad, I did used the paper gasket and tighten good, is it ok use sealer or what am I doing wrong.
The paper gasket is all you need.
Thank you. This is the best instructional video I have seen on RUclips!
You should do a video on How to do a video! lol
Do you have a video on rebuilding a turbo on an 06 6.0 Powerstroke?
James Plemons No I don't unfortunately.
Where is the second fuel bowl
Up on top of the engine right next to the oil filter housing.
i think i need to do this, i have no codes, no turbo bark, but way to much turbolag and it only gets 18psi under load, and something like 14-15psi in 1st gear
this guy is a boss. very helpful
what drill are you using? - thanks for the video!! awesome knowledge!
I wish my duramax was that easy and had an 2 into 1 uppipe and clamp instead of bolts that break
so what do you do if you have turbo bolt shears off on the driver side?
+King James if you have a late build lift up on the pass side and slide it out. If it is early build remove the pedestal with the turbo
Thank you for your time to answer my question. 1 have been putting it off to work on my 2004 f350 for a while. Now i can continue to work on her.
The E-350 comes out the back. Should I split the turbo in place for easier removal?
Oh and I don't know why you guys are complaining about the back bolt so much, I thought it was a piece of cake to get out ;-)
You gotta film the areas you’re working on. Harder newbies to see and understand what they need to do.
Did you have to drain the coolant?
No
Hello, Ford Tec.
If I but a new turbo I just junk the truck as a $1300 turbo is worth more then the truck is
I change these out in 45 min so 2hrs max I would say for you
FordTechMakuloco Thank you Sir!!
Very detailed awesome video thank you I can change out the turbo on my 6.0 now
