I love seeing more Software Inc content. I'm risking to repeat myself a bit since I commented on the last video as well. Regarding printing it's cheaper to just buy the copies for $2 each instead of the around 14% royalties per copy. And the funding of $42,000 is really not worth it for 13.6% royalties, since you will lose money as soon as you've sold for more than $308,000. The only thing you should be chosing under the publisher options is the marketing, since you don't have any marketing people hired and it cost a lot of money doing by yourself, at least early in the game.
In the U.S. taxes are due by April 15th. Your accountants have from January thru April to file and pay taxes for the previous year. You don’t have enough high-skilled accountants to get it done within those 3 months so you keep getting fined! And then from May thru December they’re just sitting around because they haven’t been given another project to work on. Love this series!
True. I usually have my accountants help out with other service sector tasks such as support or marketing, they may not be very good at it at first but with practice they get better, and there's 9 months out of every year where sending them off for training doesn't matter too much.
Every NerdroSoft series, Dylan has always hired the low salaried employees at the start only to realize later that the high-salaried (expert) employees are always worth the extra money.
When designing new software, on the 'Market targeting' page where you manually moved the pip in the triangle to reduce the wasted interest I think you're supposed to hit the 'Analyze' button to the top left of the triangle in that window. That should then show you what the market is actually interested in and you can then choose features accordingly. I've not played for a while though so not sure if that info is still relevant.
If you do a Kingdoom trilogy before developing a 3D editor, then you can have a natural devision between 1,2,3 and a potential 4,5,6, with the latter being in 3D.
I feel like it would make the most sense to make all support roles be done by the accounting team at a 1 priority so if there is no taxes they will focus all their effort on verifying bugs for the core team to then fix. That way core can stop worrying about support beyond updates and the accountants will have somthing to do for the rest of the year
Even better than priority (they'll work on all tasks just different amounts by priority), in the teams management window, you can set which task types are secondary. They'll always do a primary task before a secondary. So you can set accounting teams to accounting primary and everything else secondary.

One of the things I typically do when I get past my first million is I invest as much money as I possibly can into all the companies that have over 40% of their stock listed. In my current save, I have over two billion dollars in stock while having invested less than five hundred million. 80% of my company's worth currently is that 2Bil+ in stock 😂
I remember making a live service game thst I just kept updating and porting that for some reason everyone loved it so I invested the profits in the savings, stocks and making the employees happy. Basically won the game from that point
09:50 I'm playing in 2024 as well and your skyscrapper building is different from mine, I don't have those stripes and I have middle rooms on my 2nd floor and small spots outside those middle rooms to place money trees etc
Ok. This just be totally out there but have you considered the color scheme as the Nerdrosoft logo? Maybe do it off camera or timelapse to keep the episode short. I know it's gameplay BUT you know in the past the design bug has bit you. Besides it could produce some very interesting stuff.🤩🤩
Here is a list of “off-brand games” that could be used in the software inc series. Still works today, yep!
300 hours on this game and didn't know that. thank you
You should auto adjust the triangle when developing something, that way you don´t have to manually find the best percentage

So Nerdrosoft is becoming this worlds Valve.
For the future of the company, keep an eye on the number of employees not doing anything

file your 182k taxes, or be fined for 47k.
Ah yes, capitalism at it's finest
in the last episode you did get a message to pay your taxes
Do you really need to have funding for your games? Considering how rich you are 🤔
Oh, so THIS is what probably happened to HalfLife xD They got wind of VR and just, vroom, off they went. XD
This, but actually irl.
Be the first to market with a 3d editor!!!!
Love It!
