Construct and design buildings for optimal working conditions. Hire people to design and release software, so you can defeat the simulated competition and take over their businesses. Manage and educate your employees to make sure they are skilled and satisfied with their job.

The fact that Dick Tate is a "Born Leader" characteristic is AMAZING
I love that Dylan decided to add an extra desk to his office rather than just having Bella use his office at night and letting Dick Tate and Dudley Gross work in the other room together
I thought the same but then realised later that Bob and Bella both have assigned desks so no-one else can use either of them, if Bella is moved to the small office then it would still need 2 desks so Dylan can use it as well and a bunch of messing around with desk allocations.
@@khannaraha8817set the room to leaders only and make the respective person leader of the team. Problem solved and could also expand the night shift by having 3 or 4 desks in the larger room
@@khannaraha8817The Founders can be made leaders in their own teams and the small office can be assigned to leaders. Then the big office can be used by general employees.
Hopefully we'll see some more internal promotion in the series this year! Usually he always gets team leaders externally even when the members have developed leadership skills (and already have good compatibility of course from already being there).

When you are making a new software, using auto balance will get you the best possible interest for the software with the options that you have selected so you don’t have to manually do it.
Very smart to release multiple episodes for members first! Had to buy it, followed and watch pretty much every single video you've posted since many many years back! Much love!
I still think you're using that 'Market targeting' tab wrong when designing new software. I think you're supposed to 'Analyse' the market first to see what the users currently expect from the software and then choose software feature options in the right hand pane that get the bars as close to the lines as possible.
Choosing options and then manually moving the 'pip' in the triangle to reduce 'wasted interest' seems very Blizzard to me (i.e. You think you do, but you don't).
Of course, this approach is also a gamble because, depending on the length of time development takes, and taking into account the fact that other studios may fulfil those needs before you've finished, customer requirements may have changed by the time of your own software releases.
That's the way I use this feature anyway 😆

How about you split the day into 3 shifts - Core 1, Core 2 and Core 3 - working 7hrs from 8am, 4pm and 12am, with a gap of 1hr in between to avoid conflicts.
Make the Founders to be leaders in these Teams and let them use the small office alone. The rest can share the big office.

I was reading patch notes to catch myself up to the game since the last time I played it was last January. I noticed something interesting... you can apparently get a Publisher after you complete a product. This may be beneficial if you want to make something without the deadline.
A very basic computer OS project like almost right away would be insane, especially if it makes a lot of money
I had a unique name for an eventual sandbox game; Astralis.
Maybe a DLC for it could be called Astralis: Sun Seeker
Edit: If we're to go off of the in-game genres, it could be under either RPG or Simulation, whichever is better suited.

Why didn't you just put Bella into your office instead of buying a second computer? If you had done that you could have used the other computer in the other room. Other than that I'm so glad to see Software Inc back on the channel!!

If you do the math... It is better to have 3 shifts of people working on a game, keeping with half the recommended number of people. (You are still, in a day, at 1.5x the recommended people.) As opposed to having 3x the recommended level of people, all working at once, on the same software.
EG. It recommends 6 programmers. So you have three shifts of 3 programmers, or 6 programmers, working 2 on 1st shift, 2 on 2nd shift, 2 on 3rd shift. (Or one person each shift.) You can also have 6 on each shift, without losing out on production.
Your returns drop fast, the more you go over the recommended level of people. It's like doubling up the number of people on a sports-team, or having 4x the normal team players. There is still only one ball, one goal and the same time to play the game. Having 2x more people will not give you 2x faster development. You will get about 0.5x more, then doubling it again, you reduce the gains to only 0.125x... Luckily, you never get to negative gains, but having up to 100 extra people when you only needed 6, reduces gains to nearly zero. They would complete the game about the same time, but it cost you nearly 100x more to develop it.
if youre going to pay to use a framework, just stick with the tech levels it can provide to get the speed and complete a patch the day of release. it'll be current tech.

The accounting mechanic in this game is a bit silly. Its too expensive at your stage to have accountants on hand so it better imo to just pay the full amount until you have a lot of money and can afford to have accountants who only work half the year to file the taxes. In my experience the amount owed can be reduced with an accounting team doing the filings on time but you will always owe money. It does get a bit more fun once you can procure gold/silver to horde your wealth and carry out illicit activities. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about filing taxes until you have a few million in the bank and can afford them.

ya shouldnt talk shit about game devs. game dev is very hard and often under horrible crunch and time constraints. its very rarely devs not wanting to do their job right its often times they literally cannot do it how people want it. its in no small part because game devs just gotten harder and takes a lot more work and consumers want and expect it faster and faster for the same price and then get mad when their unreasonable demands cannot be met by reality. the fault lies not on game devs but consumers and higher ups in companies
