Honestly don't limit it to mini grids but just 1x1, 2x2, ... up to 6x6 grids, need to provide cheaper places for people to rent after all, due to the immense demand such a city will have (and nice 6x6 places for the people with jobs in larger than 1x1 industries). We must have Gridtopia! Might need to have bigger grids for educational purposes (since certain buildings are too big to fit in a 6x6) but I think we can look past that until mods happen.
Lets be fair a real Architech looking at this city, seeing all the problems would come up with the real solution. Build a Football Stadium. Because nothing fixes a city with bad water, no electricity, no jobs etc like a multi million dollar sports stadium right?
This guy is like the Tom Segura’s Steven Seagal of civil engineering. “I was in road engineering for like ten years.” “I was a drainage engineer for the last twenty years.” Yeah dude, we get it. You’ve done some engineering 😂 Big fan, I just think it’s funny how many different specific engineering niches you can claim some expertise in. Jolly good!
Fantastic video as always! I think Ductapia could really benefit from some decent public transport underground (if possible with the tunnels lol) so residents can get around much faster than the crazy roads currently allow.
Genuinely a little sad that this wasn't an episode of him fixing Lets Game It Out's city. You haven't seen broken until you've unleashed Josh on a creative environment.
The obvious solution to the issue is to burn everything and start over again... but even then, architects' souls still haunt the area, meaning the best course of action is to burn it, go elsewhere, and start a new city,
I just had a thought at 19:50 where Matt talks about Architects doing crime, they might be the remnants that wish to overthrow the things that he engineers to preserve their architectural lifestyles
I’ve learned so much about this game, but having never played it and only watched cheeky RUclipsrs play it, I haven’t the faintest idea how one is meant to handle sewage in the game. Surely thirty-foot deep ditches of raw sewage aren’t the recommended solution in a game called Cities: Skyline 😂
Did anyone notice when Matt said the one guy left the town. In the right hand corner as soon as he said that you can see his car driving out of town lol.
I was really hoping you're two birds one stone idea was going to be a catapult that launched the dead people away. Very entertaining, very good at getting rid of dead people

Here’s a video idea: Your only goal is to make the population as high as possible, you can forget about everything else and just try to get thousands of people into your city 😁
Day 121 of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet. It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
When I see crazy poop handling designs, all I can think of is CallMeKevin and his crazy stuff that goes even more horribly wrong thanks to natural disasters. Really enoy watching the messed up builds AND the fixes. It'd be a really cool series to get truly messed up stuff from other people and then fix it completely. That'd be fun. I learn a lot about how to properly do stuff here. Never really knew there was a rivalry between architects and engineers though. Interesting!
Electricity is a great way to farm XP; don't know if you've done a video on this, but you can essentially set up a small town, mine lots of rock, tax the sh*t out of the "minerals" good, and make several hundred million per month until you unlock the nuclear plant, at which point you can place and bulldoze it over and over to get 10k XP each time until you've reached megalopolis, unlocking everything and essentially speedrunning CS2. It's so broken and easy that I amassed a playtime of merely 4 hours before realizing I could do this, some of which was spent AFK.
i am not an architect, but my adhd would be making thousands of roads, non symmetrical, and i would just be like "more roads, who cares about how many hours google maps is gonna have to calculate to get to one place, and also ignore the 4593457345 dollar of debt we have." an engineer would cry at this idea.
Could we get a equilateral triangle city where all roads meet at 60 degree angles? No Roundabouts, no curves, all angles are 60 degrees. Would make for an interesting grid system
As an architect student with a minor in civil engineering, this hurt me to see. But I could definitely see an architect doing this if they were to run a city.
Architopia's roads resemble mine 😂 I thought i was being organic and breaking free from the grid. But nobody is free bc they're all stuck in traffic lol - didn't pay for large roads and highways until lvl 10 😂
It’ll be great if you fixed more manic cities, but have unlimited money. I’d 100% love to watch how you solve every issue, but not having to worry about money, and also do whatever is necessary. Great video. 👍👍
