The only good video I've found that actually explains how to move. Everyone else it all "oh see what I'm doing? That's all you have to do!" And I'm all "Yeah would love to see what you're pressing."
sometimes they do show you, then they give the most horrible explanation humanly possible that it confuses you and makes it physically impossible to process whats happening on their controller because your trying to find out what they are saying because their lips are moving at 50 miles an hour.
Helpful tip: if you are struggling with the timing for the bunny hop, use the wingman’s reticle. You’ll know when you hit the ground cause while sliding on the ground the reticle is a small circle but it expands when in the air. When the wingman reticle changes, jump, air slide, repeat
Dude it is so fun to slide N hop with your teammates at Mach 5 It's kinda more common and amazing in Apex Legends, where you and your mates can easily slide down a hill together
Holy crap this video got some attention. Apparently people want to move fast. i hope this helped a lot of you! If you have any questions reply here and I'll try to help.
damn i came here just for a look on the past when i was a little noob and i cant believe people are still coming to and watching this video to learn about moving fast in titanfall! thats awesome
To make it simple, whenever you are in the air, make sure your gun is crooked (That shows you are crouching). You do not have to jump right when you hit the groung either, but that is recommend. A VERY good tip for beginners is whenever you go jump, slide your thumb across A and B. This makes it so you dont have to remember to press B. An example: say you are about to jump off a wall when wall running, instead of just press ing A, slide your thumb across A and B, when you land, slide your thumb across the buttons again. This makes you jump, then crouch without thinking about it.
@@fbr.09 ya see, mayo is fast yeah, I'm faster than. Iniquity aswell, I know more people who are. My point is that although mayo has a 12 second run and iniquity has a 24 second run, it doesn't much matter. They are both good times.
No, it's like the forwards bunny hopping from the old HL2 engine. The difference is that crouch sliding makes the timing much easier in Titanfall 2, so you don't need to bind the scroll wheel to jump in order to get it consistent.
The slide hop can be made incredibly easy if you turn on hold and not toggle for b, it makes it so u can just hold down b and jump without having to time it everytime, it’s incredibly helpful
when ever I try to bunny hop my first slide is good but I can't keep a constant speed. I start to slowly slow down after the second one. help me please.
AIRBORNE it just means you're taking too long after hitting the ground or you're not keeping the gun in the sideways position at all times. If it begins to come into the upright position that means you mistimed the crouch which will not allow you to maintain momentum
Connor Murphy go to settings and make sure toggle crouch is disabled and only the normal crouch is enabled (crouch as long as you hold ctrl), I had this set to no key, I set it to mouse5 and toggle crouch to ctrl itself, now whenever I need to bunny hop I press mouse5 all the time and it's much easier to do than holding ctrl. I tried so many times with toggle crouch, that thing just doesn't work, use normal crouch
I just got the game during the last Steam sale and was wondering how everybody's movements were supersonic compared to me lol. Thank you for this tutorial !
I've watched a lot of slide hop guides because I want to get as good at this and as comfortable as I can, and even though you've pretty much touched on everything I've heard before, it's still very informative. I play on a standard PS4 controller and yea I definitely recommend the Evolved control scheme because I can't for the life of me press X & O quick enough but L1 & R3 is actually a lot easier. The only thing you really have to get used to is your jump button being a shoulder button, you melee now being O instead of R3 which is now your crouch, and your tactical being X. I'm still no pro at it and I still have issues turning because I have to train myself to not hold forward but I can at least do it now and can even do it backwards like Gamesager does which I'm pretty proud of. Granted I'm not near as good as Sage, but at least I know I can do it and it's not impossible like I once thought it was.
GSix Zes Well you already had a 1up on the competition. I realize using it on the 4 main buttons handicaps you a lot because you get so used to it and it's hard to break away.
dude the way this game took off when it hit steam made me so happy because i have been following the titanfall games since the first one came out, but could never play because no one bought it.
This is a very helpful tutorial it really changed my game play from good to great. I do recommend new players and level 2 pilots to watch this tutorial to the very end
I have to thank you for having the controller up there. It makes a world of difference from "If you do X perfectly" to SEEING what that timing is. I know it must be an editing nightmare, but it really is worth it.
as a console player this actually helped quite a bit to have the controller setup on the side there. I've tried practicing it before but never with any real guidance on how to do it properly so I imagine this will help a lot for myself. Thank you for the video and keep it up!
air strafing is something i just can't do but "oh just let go of forward" no i can't i have to keep holding forward it's burned in my brain and it's a habit i can't loose
Very fast SpeedWagon screaming at hihg speeds I know how you feel, I learned to avoid that in CSGO because there it just kills your bhops in an instant. Try only to focus on not holding forward, nothing else, even if your speed is even lower. Then you can build up again
Iniquity Games Hey man amazing video as always! But I'm having trouble getting this down. I tried it in a private match for about 10 minutes and I can only get myself to jump and slide while maintaining speed for about 3 seconds then I slow down. I'm not holding forward on dpad and I'm not making sharp turns. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or will it just take more time and practice? I'm also on Xbox one using an elite controller. Also Merry Christmas!
Troy Moore just takes more practice. not just the dpad, don't hold forward on the left analog either. make sure to build speed on a wall so it's easier. work on your jump timing so it's not too early or you'll lose speed.
this is probably the best guide for air strafing, im on PC, but i literally mimicked your command input and after a couple of days im bunny hopping and air strafing. thank you very much! :)

Started playing the game a couple of days ago. This video got from thinking I couldn't possibly do the gauntlet in under 40 seconds to thinking anything over 36 is garbage. Now if only I can go 1 second faster for that trophy...
Hey for people without a Elite controller (like me) i found that the best setup it's jump on LB and slide on RB, also go to the options and put crouch on "hold" instead of press, this will help you a lot with the bunny hop, for the abilty i put it on A and the grenades on the right sticks. This setup it's not perfect but it's still an amazing improvement from the base game one. try it for yourself and let know!
A tip for you new players coming here from the new publicity the game has got from it being free on ps plus if u use claw or have a pro controller bind jump to L1(on PS) or LB(on Xbox) (or use the bumper jumper preset button layout) and change crouch to hold instead of toggle this way you can simply hold crouch while jumping instead of pressing it then jumping and then pressing it as soon as possible after the jump meaning there is less difficulty with timings (you only have to focus on the timings of jumps not crouches) this makes it much easier to slide hop if you don't use claw or a pro controller bind crouch to R1 or RB as well as jump on L1 or LB and you can do the same thing however you won't be able to cook frags so if that is something u want to do u may want to consider learning claw or buying a pro controller Sorry about the essay btw lol

Whipslash I hardly see anyone zooming around because normally if you do, you're vulnerable. You'll be busy focusing on getting your timing right while an enemy will already having you in the sights. I only ever see this performed on CTF and sometimes Attrition.
Whipslash Dude, all these techniques are honestly something only like 20% of the population *can* do, and the amount of people who *do* actually use them is even lower. The vast majority of people do and will probably keep using just the basic ways to move around.
3p1cC4nuck you touched on Respawn's biggest blunder with Titanfall 2. Almost every aspect of the game encourage new players to play it like COD which is a shame. If most people don't go out of their way to look up how to use the game's movement mechanics on RUclips, they won't even know what they are missing. It drastically lowers the skill level and frankly fun of any normal public game. Once you learn how to move pub stomping becomes very easy. Respawn could have implemented basic features to actually teach Titanfall like setting evolved as the default control scheme or making a gauntlet that actually teaches new players mechanics like slide hopping. It's a shame that they dropped the ball.
so, to anyone watching this on PC, I thought I should point something out: it is a bit different how to airstraife due to something called "straife lurch", which is a PC only thing due to the different way Titanfall handles analog control. I am by no means knowledgeable enough to explain this, and so I highly recommend bryonato's movement tutorials for anyone who wants to learn more. Still, great video Iniquity
Ok first of all Iniquity you are hilarious, when you make those voices, i bust a gut laughing. Thankyou. Second I have been playing TitanFall2 since it came out. I have no problem moving around fast. My problem is that i'm over 50 years old and just started gaming. All my money and time went to my son, now that he is 20, it's my turn. I love FPSers. My aim is good but I cannot get a high kill, I cannot even get double digits? I often end up first because of the scoring. I'm good at the objective, but bad at killing pilots. If I didn't make those stupid mistakes , I would have 30 kills a game I think. Please someone , explain to me this spawn point and how to find pilots to kill. I'm not going to sit and shoot as people spawn that would be no fun and not right. But I spend to much time in a game just trying to find a pilot. I play Attrition alot. Thanks in advance from anyone. Stephen
Stephen Michael Dirse all you have to do to find pilots is study the map you intend to play dont just hop into a game why dont you just spectate and watch an online match go on you will see which way both teams converge and when, and where the fights mainly happen at or around its what i do to get good at cod and its how i play titan fall hope this helped sir wish you luck...
I actually forgot you could walk in this game. I've had it bound on "auto sprint upon w press" for so long ahaha. Love the video man, you explained it all pretty well, good stuff
Good vid. I have a question though: in the video you mention that the Evolved control scheme is good if you don't have an Elite or Scuf controller, so what control scheme are you using when you are showing us the bunny hop? The button layout looks like it's flashing A-B during each hop, so I'm assuming whatever scheme you have set up has A bound to jump, and B bound to crouch? Just wanted to clarify what you're using - thanks!
+Iniquinty Games I have a question, i can slide hop a bit, but if I try to airstrafe, I fail. Thats because i press A and B very quickly with my thumb, which is away from the right stick for looking. But I see you pressing A and B but als looking around. How do you do that, looking around while pressing A and B?
I know this comment is ancient and all, but in case you hadn't figured it out yet, a lot of competitive console FPS players play with the "claw" style. When playing Claw you use your right middle and ring finger on your RB and RT buttons and you use the side of your right index finger to press A, B, X and Y, allowing you full control of all your controller's buttons without having to shift your thumb away from your right stick so you can Jump, Crouch, Reload and Swap Weapons while still aiming.
very nice video I love the controller display and how easily you simplified every thing even through it seems as if its a very impossible maneuver but judging from this video I now have a better understanding of how it works so thank you and keep up the good work my man
thanks for the great tutorial. Question though: even when i try to chain slides, as soon as i move from forward to strafe i loose all momentum, an as we have learned, while pressing forward you loose momentum. Also, i cant seem to unplug the concept of counter rotating ( left stick >> right stick
I saw Frothy's video on how to do this and it felt a little confusing. mostly cause he was saying PC controls, not hard to translate but the biggest help was that you had the controller on the screen. I didn't know about the "you don't need to hold forwards on the stick" thing. so thank you alot for making this, I'm gonna go practice... after work. lol
Omg I just tried the air strafe+slide hop technique in the gauntlet for the first time and it feels like I've learned how to rocket jump for the first time
Ice Blade type cl_showpos 1 in control console, then Just sprint until you're at max speed. Let go of the w button while pressing space and d at the. While you do this, turn your mouse 45° to the right as you jump. Then as soon as you hit the ground, jump again by press a and spacebar. At the same time turn your mouse to the left 45°. If you time this right you will be able to bhop. It's a lot like CSGO.
Scroll wheel on jump makes it as easy as scrolling to actually bhop, If you do that you can get about 3 or 4 jump commands a frame so it becomes hard to miss
Despite this style having it's weaknesses, I swap aiming on the left trigger with sliding and crouching so I don't need to make a claw out of my hand just for b hopping. It feels great for high speed, close up play while also conditioning me to hipfire more.
For a perfect wallop you have two options, 1 jumps as soon as you make contact with the wall like its a social interaction, or 2 master the art of cooking bacon, why bacon? You may ask, in Titanfall 2 there is a sound when you wall run and its like the same sound of bacon being cooked, the moment the sound ends you jump and you gain the speed boost and hopefully a delicious piece of bacon
This helps so much. I am on PS4 and my most recent peak on the gauntlet was about 39-40 seconds with just wall running and fast paced speed. Afterwards I started watching videos but nothing would help. But then a day ago I started a new tactic and apparently it’s also the same tactic that you were using in this video. Slide then jump, slide then jump, slide then jump, and repeat. Now that I could see the buttons this help.
best explanation on how to "bunny hop" going to try this tonight. hope it doesn't take me too long to get it at least once...wish me luck....great video....
Don’t hate on the comment. I know that the game tf2 came out first. I played the demo before apex was out and I just got the game... but I learned the b-hop in apex. Aswell as the wall mechanics. But! Titan fall still has the respect of the original movement OG. Thank u for your time
Best one ever yet! The thing I love here is that you're showing the buttons you're pressing. And complex explanation really love the video. :) Edit: I also subbed, liked the video, and watched other videos, because it really helps!!!
For anyone trying to slide hop on regular controls, first start your slide, then slide your finger across the jump button, then the slide button each time you land to do a slide hop.

The movement mechanics reminds me of Gunz.
Ah the good old times.
Spent about two hours today in a private match by myself, and I am proud to say that I can now truly bunny hop. Thanks for the help.
Why am I watching this at 2 AM? I dont have a controller, or even play TitanFall 2 bruh
so, to anyone watching this on PC, I thought I should point something out: it is a bit different how to airstraife due to something called "straife lurch", which is a PC only thing due to the different way Titanfall handles analog control.
Stephen
how is it now? your story touched me
Stephen Michael Dirse all you have to do to find pilots is study the map you intend to play dont just hop into a game why dont you just spectate and watch an online match go on you will see which way both teams converge and when, and where the fights mainly happen at or around its what i do to get good at cod and its how i play titan fall hope this helped sir wish you luck...
Never thought I'd see the day when Fallen Empire Legions rabbiting techniques would make it here... love it!
Slight humping is a whole lot like are strafing in TF2 like almost identical holding W or forward analog is a massive no no
I have been trying to do the slide hop for a while, but I never knew what to press, this HELPED
Welcome PS4 player... we hope you enjoy this MASTERPIECE of a game!
Already played this for 2 years. Such an underrated game
Lucho Vargas facts and my first platinum trophy
new to titanfall2!!! just got it for free on ps plus one of the best games out there for me
Thank you, other tutorials treat me like a noob and don't show me advanced techniques.
these techniques will get me places.

WHAT VILE MAGIC IS THIS
I actually forgot you could walk in this game. I've had it bound on "auto sprint upon w press" for so long ahaha. Love the video man, you explained it all pretty well, good stuff
I can’t be the only one who thinks the slide hops are hard
I am fairly new to the game, but am addicted, loving the guides thanks
Should've asked for a elite controller for Christmas...dammit...
Just use the bumper jumper button layout, thank me later ;)
Angry Brazilian Fanboy just use evolve controls
Angry Brazilian Fanboy no it's disgusting, has many flaws just search up the videos, sometimes they break within first use
Play claw
Hi I’m new to titanfall 2 and I don’t have experience with fast paced games such as tf2 and these types of videos help me thankyou very much
Just wanted to clarify what you're using - thanks!
crazeeguyJc yes he is using default but has his paddles set up to b and a.
Thank you for the slide hopping explanation. That was boggling my mind ever since I saw GS's gauntlet run lol.
+Iniquinty Games
I have a question, i can slide hop a bit, but if I try to airstrafe, I fail. Thats because i press A and B very quickly with my thumb, which is away from the right stick for looking. But I see you pressing A and B but als looking around. How do you do that, looking around while pressing A and B?
Kees Hovinga if you swap the jump and the crouch to L1 and R1 it's alot easier.
Kees Hovinga in the video he has the A and B linked to the paddles on his elite but it just shows up as A and B on his controller map.
Kees Hovinga that’s the same question I had because I can’t press a and b and move right stick it’s like he’s got three hands
What he said
very nice video I love the controller display and how easily you simplified every thing even through it seems as if its a very impossible maneuver but judging from this video I now have a better understanding of how it works so thank you and keep up the good work my man
thanks for the great tutorial. Question though: even when i try to chain slides, as soon as i move from forward to strafe i loose all momentum, an as we have learned, while pressing forward you loose momentum.
Also, i cant seem to unplug the concept of counter rotating ( left stick >> right stick
Yes there is a thing called strafe lurch that kills your momentum when you start strafing too early
OMG THX FOR FINALLY HELPING ME GETTING THE ACHIEVEMENT AFTER 2 YEARS OF PLAYING TITANFSLL 2
Still not working
Great explanation and showing the actual-time button pressing helps a lot. Much appreciated.
Who here in 2019
Definitely deserves a like
Not to mention the frontier reference at the end see you in harmony.

ayyyy lmao thanks fam
aidan wroth
Fuck you for saying that.
just... Fuck you.
none of your business Nope!! What?
What about ir
I saw Frothy's video on how to do this and it felt a little confusing. mostly cause he was saying PC controls, not hard to translate but the biggest help was that you had the controller on the screen. I didn't know about the "you don't need to hold forwards on the stick" thing. so thank you alot for making this, I'm gonna go practice... after work. lol
for all my pc players out there press "w" it's pretty easy guys
i know this is like a few months old... but you do know you should never press "w" when bhopping unless you're tap strafing or doing it sideways
Omg I just tried the air strafe+slide hop technique in the gauntlet for the first time and it feels like I've learned how to rocket jump for the first time
bunny hopping's nearly impossible on pc.
sarcasm? it's definitely not lol
Thank you so much for the explanations man, all the guides I've checked never said to not hold forward, that's why I couldn't turn!
that controller display is amazing. really helped me understand what you're doing on the controller & how it translates on the screen. GG
ROFLgator glad to hear it :D
I finally found the perfect video to send people asking me how I execute them in the first 5 seconds of a match.
Thanks a lot for the guide, really help make my gameplay much more smoother. Not only that, it made my Hard Campaign a bliss. Thanks Iniquity c:
Thank you for making this video getting fast on console is like trying to dig a hole in the sand with a fork normally
Don’t hate on the comment. I know that the game tf2 came out first. I played the demo before apex was out and I just got the game... but I learned the b-hop in apex. Aswell as the wall mechanics. But! Titan fall still has the respect of the original movement OG. Thank u for your time
God bless ya for telling PC players how to understand controller instructions! Small detail that helps a lot.
Finally found this video. Now I know why I haven't been going as fast as expected with my old bunny hop, they changed it to the slide hop.
I'm a new player off the back of the steam release that's been sprinting everywhere. Thank you.
Best one ever yet! The thing I love here is that you're showing the buttons you're pressing. And complex explanation really love the video. :)
Edit: I also subbed, liked the video, and watched other videos, because it really helps!!!
This video is great and you make more sense than other RUclipsrs.
6 years later still helping out
Honestly didn't expect much from this video, but wow dude very helpful. Subbed.
For anyone trying to slide hop on regular controls, first start your slide, then slide your finger across the jump button, then the slide button each time you land to do a slide hop.
the evolved control scheme helps so much.
I had the right Idea down but I didn't know about the left analog stick so this video really helped, thanks mucho
