The problem is, they need to focus more towards it looking _great_ than realistic because sometimes it ends up looking like one of those minecraft ripoffs with "realistic" graphics
Yeah, it's important to keep a game's art style in mind when doing any sort of graphics mods. And to keep the balance of "prettier pixels" versus "more pixels".
Well dont lie they look fucking amazing, but they are completely and utterly useless if literally no one other than Bob McBilly at nasa can run these shaders and packs
stratum + continuum is basically a combo made specifically for taking screenshots, given how continuum literally simulates an entire camera inside of itself, like that's ridiculous amounts of effort for a shader. So it's kinda like, made for specific situations where you use the blocks that fit together rather than playing vanilla with them on.
The actual problem is that people expect these resource packs to fit the minecraft artstyle when it's almost impossible to do so without literally removing the blocks. The pack makers aren't fucking stupid, the point of these resource packs are to have the highest resolution textures possible even if it sacrifices aesthetic and performance. They've heard this criticism a million times and they don't give a shit because thats not the point.

Yeah but basically no one uses them daily I imagine. It's not worth it over the performance loss. Everyone ends up playing with vanilla textures and maybe some simple shader.
How do the creators even make these kind of resource packs, wouldn’t they need like a supercomputer just to make it this realistic without the whole system crashing?
@@FedeXBL I can't even run shaders. I have a garbage computer and they removed shaders from pocket edition which is the only version I have. So why do texture packs with higher resolution than most people's screens exist?
@@na_man7989 Its that easy to create such textures. Even "bad" PC's are capcable to create and open such textures.
And these creators simply choose a real life scan of something and scale it properly to fit it in minecraft, which is kind of simple due to the textures are mostly squares, which have the same dimension as the texture resolution.
2k Resolution as itself is dedicated as really performance friendly normally. Skyrim modding offers 8k Textures to install, which can be runned consistent on modern rigs.
The problem with 2k and minecraft is, that every loaded block loads a 2k Texture at the same time, which bloats the Vram and Ram.
And another problem is, that the texture pattern is small compared to other games. In some games the ground relies on a huge surface, in minecraft it relies on a huge amount of seperately renderes blocks which repeat this 2k Pattern way too often. So this single 2k Texture gets used way too often and thats the problem.
Another problem is the one with Texturemaps like normals, speculars, parallax, bumpmap etc.
These need to be loaded for each diffuse texture again, and their resolution in these packs is often 2k aswell.
So every side of a single block can load up to 4 2k Textures at once.

Install Optifine, then you can run it. This man just knows how to properly set his graphics in the options menu. The standard GPU to run BASIC shaders is a GTX 1060ti.
Now you would want something more powerful if you wanna run it with mods, resource packs, etc. His 3090 being a prime example.
So you really don’t need a super computer to play Minecraft you just need to understand basic computer parts/graphics options.

i tried this with my pc. Its actually extremely beautiful. Especially when I'm in a foggy biome. It feels like I'm really there. Because of the smoke coming out of my PC its really immersive.

So with that being said, we make a card is best that we can make it. Then find its limits, then make a new one to surpass them. Rinse and repeat

@@burekking1960 in 12 years I would like to come back and use the exact setup he had to make 1fps. And how well it has improved over a decade. A decade for tech is a huge leap I wouldn't surprise if it actually get 60fps+.(of course with the max graphics card and cpu of that time to compare)

Basic navigation of menus was painfully slow. I don't know how it could have ever handled minecraft at a decent frame rate.

@@hi-gh9fy It's because java is crap for games unless they're very simple (such as vanilla minecraft was back in 2011). The bedrock version (made in c++) runs in literally anything.

My favorite pack is 256x256 R3D texture pack. I don't really remember the name of pack, but i think "r3d" is right. 6 years ago was last time i played minecraft. It was really good.
Second one was the best IMO because the textures look extremely realistic without taking the vanilla vibe away from the game. Too bad it's extremely resource-intensive.
Every high graphics gamer wants sheders in minecraft. But only true minecraft players know that nothing is better than playing minecraft with 480p resolution, 6chunks render distance, no sheders and lowest settings and getting 25 fps.
