I was able to follow along and build much-needed control over my EZ-Drummer plug-in. --- I did notice that EZ-Drummer does not see 'Instrument' channels, only 'Aux' channels, which is why Mitch set up the Aux channels. --- Another thing.. Setting up individual Aux's for each EZ-Drummer output is CPU expensive. I created Aux's only for kick and snare, and it didn't hog as much CPU.
Hey thanks for the video. I finally understand what I was doing wrong with the routing. I made stereo instrument tracks instead of aux ones. Works so much better now. :)
I'm just a beginner. Using audio tracks for each drum path you get separated audio tracks, which you can still edit separately after recording. Could u explain why you use aux tracks and not audio ones? what is the usefulness?

when i try to input (min 2:40 and on) i cannot see EZ2, EZ3 .....and so on but instead i see only Out 3+4, Out 5+6 and so on. what am i missing please?
I bought EZ Drummer 2 and Protools 12 for a MacBook Pro. And I can not get EZ Drummer to insert on the Stereo Instrument track like this video shows before he made separate aux tracks. I can't get anything to load into inserts on mine. Anyone know how to get it to do that? Yeah I'm a beginner. If not, back to the manual.
Hopefully someone could answer this. I was able to solo each track up until the moment I add the Sub Master Aux. By the way i'm also using Pro tools. Can anyone explain why I cannot solo each track after adding it ?
A quick question: We already have the Drum submaster track which controls the whole drum volume. What then do we need the VCA 1 track for? Looks like a bit of the same thing to me. Anyone, please?
+Edouard Gahini I was thinking the same thing. I think the difference is that the VCA group controls the level input, whereas the AUX is the output and overall processing.

Hey, Mike! EZ Drummer is an outstanding tool. I've used it to write many albums worth of material. It can sound very good, but it depends on your ability to piece together the performance. They have many MIDI packs available with performance data to make that fairly straight forward. However, I would recommend massaging those chunks into place with fills and your own adaptations. That's why i was asking if anyone here has ever done an album with ezdrummer? and did it sound real?
Hey guys, my issue is that I have routed drum sounds from EZdrummer 2 to stereo audio tracks to manipulate them individually, such as a track for kick, track for snare etc. My issue is that after making these tracks and routing them properly, they only are audible when hitting either the record or green I button on them. Then I can hear them, however, they won't be in the bounced track. How do I fix this?

Hey, Dario. You can use pretty much any MIDI keyboard with EZdrummer, and there are built in presets for most of the popular electronic drum kits (Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, etc.). If you’re wanting to be able to edit or control the MIDI map of the EZdrummer kits to your keyboard, I would recommend checking out Superior Drummer, though. With that upgrade you’re able to do custom key mapping and set things up exactly how you want them. I hope this helps! Great. But why creating STEREO Auxs for individual MONO tracks like kick? Why not just 7 mono Auxs ,so that I can route them afterwards to a drum bus?

The AUX needs to be solo'd too

That is correct. Also another important point is that there is no audio signal going through the VCA

I found out the hard way as well. Really should mention that upfront & in the description.

What is a VCA? Is that something new in PT11? Im using PT9; I dont remember ever seeing any VCA function.

We'll see if we can put together a video explaining VCAs. Think of it as a "remote fader" that you can use to control the faders for other tracks.
Mitch Gallagher VCA Master is an HD only feature - you might mention that when creating your new video.
