It's only two up front on the show this week as Simon Jordan and Graeme Souness tackle some of the big questions around the Premier League:
Did Arsenal show an inferiority complex against Manchester City? Was Erik Ten Hag wrong to bring up Marcus Rashford's lifestyle and is Julen Lopetegui's position under threat at West Ham?
Graeme and Simon debate Arsenal's approach after they went down to 10 men at Manchester City. Did Arteta's approach show their fear of City or was it the best way to go? Graeme argues they were too negative and explains why he thinks City won't care that they haven't beaten Arsenal in their last 3 league meetings. They also discuss Trossard's red card and whether players should take some of the blame for bending the rules.
Please note that his episode was recorded before the news about Rodri's injury became public.
With just one win in his first 5 games, how much pressure is on West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui? Simon gives his verdict on how long he might have and explains the thought process of a chairman when the team is getting bad results.
Finally, Simon and Graeme look ahead to Manchester United v Tottenham this weekend and discuss whether managers should bring up a player's lifestyle in the press after Erik Ten Hag's recent comments about Marcus Rashford. This leads to a debate over whether Ten Hag can handle big stars, but is it also maybe the last chance saloon for Rashford at United?

You could save Simon’s family out a burning house but he would criticise you for not getting the tv and furniture out in time
Well done for the most stupid comment of the day. Congratulations.
That's just dumb. Just say you lack the braincells to comprehend his views.

These pundits have such a short term memory. Arsenal is boring, one dimensional, dirty, dark arts masters now ? They had Spurs, Atalanta, City all away within a week, missing some key players, and finished with 1 win and 2 draws.
Next few games are Leicester, Psg, Southampton at home and Bournemouth away. If we win these and score plenty of goals, what are they going to talk about?
As an Arsenal fan I want a winning and strong mentality...we had enough pretty football in Wenger's last few years and it didn't get us very far.
So what if your going to win the league
This bollocks that some pundits spout about expecting more from Arsenal once they were down to 10 men is just an excuse.
If Arsenal had done that and lost 4-2 they would have called them " naive to think they could go toe to toe with the best team in the country with 10 men". We rattled them and it was clear by the reactions of Haalands "Be Humble eh?" to Arteta and Bernardo' jibe at us not winning the Premier League or UCL.
Imagine if Havertz had said to Pep "Be humble eh?" The outcry from the media and the back in my day players like Souness would go on for months.
We've gone from soft touch to a team with it looks like some steel now and teams like City cant accept we arent the team they can just steam roll consistently.
Do shut up, you lot were a disgrace.

I’ll tell you one thing, city may not win the PL this season but arsenal definitely won’t.
A team full of sniveling cowards managed by one.
Arsenal had belief in their defensive solidity and almost puuled it off.
I have great respect for Graeme but I have to disagree. If you try to play aggressively with 10 men against City it could get very ugly and this season might well go down to goal difference!
Troy Deeney adds something to the conversation. I missed him. Southampton fan.
Well Arteta said it in his interview right. Last time we went down to 10. Xhaka got sent off and we lost by 4 if I remember correctly
Lord Elite Jordanite & Souness + Top LADS Proper Clobbers 💯 Facts + Troy
Absolute bollocks any other team had done what we did you would be praising them left right and centre and that’s a fact
So that’s 2 players who have kicked and thrown the ball at Arsenal players and twice no bookings
Haaland should have gone no question
Someone else would, I think it's a bit absurd to claim Graeme and Roy Keane would have slagged them either way. Those two have been the biggest critics of the way Arsenal handled that second half, and I think they'd have both praised Arsenal for going for the win instead of playing how they did.
The reality is that Graeme is right. Playing the way they did, Arsenal guaranteed themselves the tiniest chance of winning. They decided that because they were 10 men, the best they could hope for is a draw. That kind of mentality is a microcosm of why they've won almost nothing under this current management.
@@MinisterManDanyeah we should’ve just opened up and let city tear us apart. Great idea! As I recall Sounness was a shite manager and Keane was a championship manager at best
Jesus that intro, all Jordan does is slag off Neville, now he’s trying to be him 😂😂
Arguing about arsenal going negative when we were in winning game state until the last kick..
We went to 155FC and were winning with 10 man until the last kick of the game.. and we have inferiority complex.?
Yes putting all 10 players in box and not having single player out to even have single chance to counter . That show how negative Arteta's thinking was
That's why he was a bad manager 😅
Liverpool were 1-0 down away to Newcastle AND down to 10 men (Van Dijk red card) and won. I'm not a Liverpool fan
Newscastle, not city. Back in 2017-18 they got 1 man down to city and lost 5-0... They remianed rivals.
Bit of a difference in quality between man city and newcastle though im sure you would agree?
So Liverpool were down to 10 men against an inferior team and won? Because that's the same isn't it? City are inferior to Arsenal aren't they? Absolute tube 🤦 say you're thick without saying it.
If City scored in the first five minutes of the second half then Arsenal may well have come out more. The fact they frustrated City for 53 minutes they thought what they were doing was working so why open up.
You play to your strengths. Probably the best defence in the league. You have a player down and we're 30secs away. How is this even a conversation. Jesus
Id they played a 100 times 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Didn’t realise we play 100 times against the same team..
89 rings loud here. Graham. Thomas. Adam’s..
Arteta. We are back ❤
imagine drawing with man city, seconds away from a victory and getting criticism all week fucking agendas. Liverpool go down to ten men against them lose 5-0, we did with Xhaka lost 5-0 PLEASE name me a team who has gone to ten men against Man City last 10 years. and PLEASE remember we were 2-1 up 11 v 11 so all this selective memory everyone seems to have is boring. Pundits just pissed they can't say same old soft arsenal anymore... Arteta and the boys can use this build a siege mentality to carry us forward. Us against everyone it seems. Easy dislike
He said it was a horrible spectacle! Blame the ref then for a pathetic rule of 0.8 seconds booking someone for delaying the game
Arteta is many things. He is not attached to one style or philosophy. Some people will never understand that. Because they are too attached to one's thinking.
Simon said unless its same referee not being consistent...
Well Same ref didn't send Diaz for kicking the ball on yellow but sent Rice. Same ref that pgmol defended him not sending kovacic off, to not mess the game even tho it was red
Pedro wasn’t holding up play as the ball was already off the pitch, where as Rice kicked the ball which was to be used for the free kick
Newcastle v Liverpool last season. Okay, not Man City, but Liverpool still made some attempt to win.
This anti Arsenal agenda is ridiculous. My God! What is going on? Why do this people feel they have a right to dictate how Arsenal play? 😂😂 Get over it geez! Arteta doesn't owe anyone entertainment. DEFENDING IS PART OF FOOTBALL.
This man city result will be irrelevant at the end of the season lol same as last season it'll be not dropping points against teams we should be beating will win arsenal the league
I find this excellent and interesting , nice podcast 👍
This arsenal pile on is getting well out of hand now. The only time city have dropped points so far this season I, heck this calender here, is when playing arsenal. Yet somehow arsenal are getting criticised for it, make that make sense
D riding of ronaldo by greame is crazy 😂😂 united came 2nd before he came he took them to 6th ....and when he was packed they came 3rd ... he has 7 league titles in 24 seasons. He is not a team player as u saw when level high like euros and world cup he has 0 goal and gets 100 in kebab league ..just numbers .
Arsenal were winning 2-1 and were clearly growing into the game before Trossard went. The then were down to 10 men and defended resolutely. Their tactics were spot on. And in City own back yard I might add. The onus was on City to beat them, but they couldn't. Arsenal's critics are disingenuous which is borne out of jealousy.
Souness doesnt half waffle some shite. He doesnt want to admit arsenal are man citys main rival because in his mind he still believes its liverpool. Also how many times is he going to cover marcus rashford? Does he fancy him or something like he did pogba? We get it hes overated and he rarely performs, move on 😂😂😂
All these pundits and ex players wanted Arsenal to play attacking football with 10men against city to ensure that they lose the lead and probably lose the match so that they can glorify Pep and City.
And the English media is just coming up with terms
"Letter of the law" and "Dark Arts".
Where were these terms when Gabriel was pushed down to score a goal last season.
One again, City have a team jam packed full of WC players. Arsenal have 3 maybe 4 genuine WC players. Why go toe to toe with with City when we can beat them using other tactics, which was actually paying off until Trossard got red carded.
If Souness sure about ETH handling of Ronaldo. If one of his former players did an interview slagging off him and the club would he welcome him back with open arms or go in on him with a two footed lunge which he was famous for 🤔
Is it just me or has souness been talking bs more now since he left sky sports and now he is on talksport where it is seemingly compulsary to talk bs🤣 the question should arsenal have offered more with ten men vs m city I would flip the question around and ask should city have played better vs ten men I think for sure personally🤣
I always laugh when someone moans about Graeme saying "when I was a player" he was and was a good one, the whole point is to try and get perspective from all sides the only bit they are missing is a ref. You can see they are friends and love winding the other up regardless if its bollocks.
Ridiculous. We was doing great before the ref did the usual city backhander. Any team goes a man down to city you park the bus, especially if you are already leading.
Ive never seen this reaction about any other team who were winning and down to 10 men against the best team. Guy's are talking above style of play. Ridiculous
Talking about arsenal gets views and lots of comments, so let's talk about them non stop, they're the best team in the league just don't know how to get over the line. What's more SYM Simon.
It's amazing pundits and like Keane and sourness can be so out of touch but seen as great pundits because "they say it how it is"
Love how arsenal is now being associated with rule bending, dark arts, cheating and dirty football.
Everyone saw how dirty they were last Sunday, now more eyes would be on them and the referee will have it out for them too.
The refs not knowing if players are playing acting or not has nothing to do with them not playing the game. Pundits who played the game still can't tell the difference.
The only way City vs Arsenal becomes a rivalry is if Arsenal take the title. Not winning two games against them.
they played the low block against spurs too when they had xi men on the pitch.without odegard they are officially a counter attacking team with threat on the set pieces.
Lol now copying sky with the candid intros.
The most bitter, jealous little man... Mr "I hate Gary Neville" 😂😂😂
Pundits and ex footballers are frightened of losing their possibility of earning money through the media by giving a negative opinion on referees.
Has Jordan said I put money in to the game and you just took money out yet?😊
rashford really annoys me, the guy walks round like the worlds gonna end. He takes no responsibility for his actions he needs a reality check
Whatever the outcome they woulda had a negative spin for the media cycle - clicks and engagement people
Yeah let’s take advice from Sounness a historically shite manager
Maybe have a look how other teams innthe top 6 have doe against city after going to 10 men
Souness in his take on the Man City v Arsenal was really comical.
If arsenal got battered they would have been criticised for being to open can’t win
This is such nonsense from Graeme, if they opened up and got smashed he would say the opposite
Wouldn’t take advice from a failed ex manager 😂
Haaland is the most arrogant footballer I've ever seen in my life hes let it go to his head
I bet Arsenal will.end up 3rd this season after all this hype
What hype lol if anything its negativity
Agreed. I said what souness is saying here last year. They haven't adopted an elite mentality. When they celebrated like they had won something when they beat Liverpool and City I said they won't win a thing. They went on to lose points right after those games to end up falling short. If an elite coach was in charge they would have set up in that 2nd half saying we can't just defend for 45 minutes, we must try and pose some sort of threat and still try and win. If we sit back and defend for 45 minutes we will concede, and that's what happened. If city win the league by a point, it will be that point
This isn't last year mate. And your take is dumb. 2-1 up against a team who are superior to you. You open up and you're conceding. If you're too thick to understand that just say so 👌🏾
@crow1989 So your admitting city are a better team ?? So it doesn't matter what they do, city will win the league. An elite mentality would have realised that getting 3 points from that position was vital, it seems arteta agrees with you. So another season of nearly but not quite it is for arsenal then

Exactly.. its Inferiority complex. That’s the right words to use.
They were just booting the ball away, that’s a small team mentality.
it's unPC to say but foreign players have changed the dynamic. Diving and simulation is more common due to foreign players.
Shithousery has been common place for years. City's rotational fouling? Why now and why Arsenal?
Because it's arsenal and people don't like it 😂😂 they can keep crying
I wonder if Souness would say this if Liverpool produced this performance, doubt it... come on.
Interesting that Graeme and Roy Keane had basically the same take on Arsenal. I think I agree with them, I think I'd have felt better about Arsenal's chances this year if they dropped points but went down playing City with aggression instead of getting a draw like a League 1 team in a FA cup match that scores a lucky goal lead before turtling.
City are serial winners who expect to win. Arsenal expects to be beaten by them. I don't know how you fix that or win playing that way.
How could it be a lucky goal when arsenal have been the best at set pieces for the last 2 seasons. What a dumb take
@@crow1989 I didn't say Arsenal scored a lucky goal. I said that total defensive shell they went into at 10 men is the way lower level teams play trying to scrape a tie in FA Cup games after L1 teams snag a lucky goal.
It's just gutless and basically announcing to everyone "we concede there is no way we could possibly hold onto this lead, so we're gonna do damage mitigation and play for the tie." It's not how a team that wins the title plays mentality wise.
@@MinisterManDanCity can’t beat us and they know it, which is why they’ve started acting up. We’re inside their heads now and it’s only a matter of time before we rip that PL title out of their hands.

Up front copying the Overlap in having a candid conversation at the start?
Gary Neville famously invented conversation
the narrative against arsenal is a bitter one and they are all clearly rattled because it’s not THEIR team challenging 😂😉
As a neutral i just want to see the game played properly..i find it sad now, the simulation, the "take one for the team" mentality, the cynical time wasting, kicking the ball away, deliberately pinning the keeper on his line with a 2 player block, the holding on corners, diving, pretending youve been head butted etc. Then at the end of it all the ref gets blamed by both sides for the carnage. I did think laws were brought in to stop players surrounding the ref and yelling at him. Clearly nobody is taking any notice. We saw the same in the Forest v Brighton game by the way.
@@timtarlac3476 so you preferred arsenal to lose 6-2? weird they didn't want that to happen isn't it. especially after some two tier refereeing. try to not look at everything from one angle and feed the media echo chamber and it's narrative. in other words, you would have taken the beating instead of trying for a win or a point. arsenal were winning for MOST of the game may I remind you.
