Thanks for this, I was wondering about why Jesus would called Peter the Rock when Paul called Christ the Rock. Both should have known that the Rock is a metaphor for God in the Old Testament. Your explanation confirms my understanding so thank you. 🙏🏻
I have always thought it was Peter's confession that Jesus was the Messiah which was the "rock" upon which Jesus would build His church. Moreso the many confessions of faith by all the converts who confess Christ as Lord. All of us little stones become One in Christ, therefore a Petra. I understand that Christ is the Rock, Petra. But we who are born again are now "In Christ" and we are described as the Body of Christ. We are not defined by a denomination but by our confession that Christ is Messiah, Son of God. This leads to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We are born into the Body of Christ, aka the church. "There is no perfect church" - - but there is! We who are in Christ are counted as righteous.

Thanks for your comment, GalaxyChild. I'm glad the video was helpful to you.
I've listened to a priest explaining their theory. I have a few Catholic friends. I love them but I don't believe the Peter is the rock theory.
