@@christopherhulse8385 in later years, until his retirement, he was presenting both the West Midlands and East Midlands editions. Both came from Birmingham, one of them being pre recorded.
Simply a more innocent time,
It's fascinating how Central allowed the two areas to produce an entirely unique looking news show to one another. Here on the east side, it was so different.
Never understood why the two and later three regions all have different introductions. Now all ITV regions have the same set, graphics, intro.
Same with HTV Wales and HTV West.
@@robertcomer2767 For me, part of the fun of going on holiday to another part of Britain was seeing how the continuity and regional news programmes differed from back home. Now they're all the same, unless you go to central or northern Scotland. And it's probably only a matter of time before ITV takes over STV as well.
Liked the 1987 to 1989 version with the Central News logo zooming down from Alpha Tower going into the Central Broad Street Studios.

The news intro music for the one from 1989-1990 is Crisis Point by Killer Tracks.
can't believe how long that guy has been presenting it. (I feel bad as I still can't remember his name) Fair play to him! Funnily enough I don't remember any of these as I was too young :^)

The last few intros were some weird shit
The first one in 1982 was the best including the set. It was probably the only thing they had ready in time!!! Let's face it certainly wasn't the continuity stills. It was the only thing Central did better than ATV.
I think the 1982 title sequence is my all-time favourite for a regional news programme. Pride of place was given to the Central logo, both on the titles and on the set.
I think the 1985 to 1987 intro is actually from Central News East, as it is the East Midlands region which is highlighted on the map.
That's my mistake, sorry.
Just wondering, where did you get the 1997-1999 intro from?
I got that from a dead YT channel called TVBits.

Could’ve started with the ATV Today intros from the ‘70s to 1981 for a more complete history.

I had noticed this. A strike on this channel, and I will remake it and upload it along with other ITV Regional News Intro to a new RUclips channel.
