Yes, as an American myself I can say Central (and to some extent ATV before them) had the most American/Hollywood/glitzy/polished feeling of all the ITV franchises. I remember reading in a magazine a long time ago that British TV evolved more from radio, while American TV evolved more from Hollywood.
I remember an animated 'Coming Next' on Central back in the day, but can't find it anywhere! It was definitely the same era as the ident at 1:32 though; anyone else seen it?
You certainly don't get logos like these nowadays. Now we get just one single identity. ONE SINGLE IDENTITY!
