Very nice video! I watch Valerie's Baron 58TC videos too, so I'm getting familiar with seeing Heaven's Landing! I love the paint job on that 206, but I'm afraid I'm not a huge fan of big TV screens inside a light aircraft! Give me the steam driven panel any day! However, maybe I should learn. I'm not a real world pilot and at the age of 65, I'm not going to be able to obtain a licence - so my flying has been restricted to flying FLIGHT SIMULATOR in it's various guises! Now 38 years of desktop computer flying and we now have a brand new Microsoft Simulator that gives us virtually real world outside, so it's about time I explored your part of the world! It's interesting to see the differences between your flying in the US and ours here in the UK. "turn 10 degrees left" would require a readback of the new heading to the Controller over here. Things seem a lot more relaxed in US airspace. I have done a lot of IFR airliner flying in Flight Simulator over the years (we now have real live ATC) in both the US, Asia and the UK and since I can never have the wonderful experiences you guys have, I get them now in the Simulator. But it's great to watch your videos and see what you do! I create videos too of my adventures in the simulator and products reviews. I have subscribed. Please take care in these difficult days. you make flying look so easy, you have a great attitude..and when things aren't going well for me sometimes , I watch your videos... just wanted to say thanks!
Very nice! I love the C206, have several hundred hours flying one for the forestry commission spotting fires. The one I flew came from Florida as a float plane there. Pulled the floats off for work in Arkansas. It had a full STOL kit, 40 degrees on flaps and the ailerons would also drop 10 degrees. Land on a dime. Wingtip tanks and you could fly that thing for 7 hours.
LOL... Yesterday two Cap 172's were fooling around at our local field... Next day there it was... a 182 with 2150 hours on it ! Still transferring fuel from Mom's Tank !
Thank You! I just learned something from watching your final approach that has helped me greatly! Not a real pilot, but a virtual one:-) on MSFS 2020, but love flying. Was performing hard landings even while flaring. On y'alls final, at 17:55 adding trim on landing!. Just tried that in the sim and had the smoothest landings yet! I know it's a sim, still developing platform at that, but I was able to do a touch and go at your departure airport, Heaven's Gate(Wow! Scenery) and my home airport(KJAN)...smooth! Enjoyed the video! Thanks again. Happy Flying. RB
That scenery taking off at Heavens Landing..just WOW! That would be crazy to wake up each day, and often fly in and out of. Can't believe someone didn't hand Capt. Mindy a bottle of water and a bag of chips though..of course letting her know that's a $9 charge now ;) Great flight, albeit to short though, and that new 206 is a nice comfortable plane. Have been in with the G1000 before, but that new NXi option..which can load up visual approaches is just amazing!
I bought a Stinson 108-2 last spring that was based at Falcon Field. I had a gentleman ferry it to WY for me as I didn’t have my private at the time. Thanks for giving me a glimpse of where it came from; what a beautiful area. Also, just took and passed my private checkride last Sunday in that Stinson! Keep up the great work, you are a great ambassador for GA!
That was our Stinson 108-2 that you bought! I hope you are enjoying the airplane, I really miss it and wish my dad did not sell it, but I hope you are having some good times flying it.
Wow! Tell your dad hi! The Stinson is flying great and in good hands. Your family took excellent care of it, and I really enjoyed getting to know your father through our conversations. Let me know if you are ever out this way!
I can only imagine what this thing costs. Just spoke to a sales rep. about a 2019 Skyhawk and he quoted me $495,000. FOR A SKYHAWK. GA is dead. Even if I was rich and the 172 was the last aircraft left on the planet, I would NOT give you half a million dollars for a 172. I'll buy an old one for $50,000 and dump $100,000 into it and be perfectly fine. Glass cockpit and everything.
Nice video Steveo!! Thanks for taking me back to my old home airport (FFC) where I got all my ratings and flight instructed for a bit before switching gears to ATC. We just got back from the Bahamas/Florida and listened up hoping to hear you on the radio...no such luck. Maybe one day. :)
did my first solo there and when me and a friend (he instrument rated, me private) flew a loop around Atlanta, We flew into there. I flew the approach and it felt like i never left.
Great job flying the 206 Steveo. I am sure you are accustomed to traveling a little faster in the TBM 850. Very nice little airplane for short hops and love the turbo for a little extra speed. With 2 flight instructors on board, you were under close scrutiny but a Commercial Pilot can handle that quite easily. Loved the scenic tour of Atlanta!
Loved it. I remember when they put the F-16 there. I was painting the "Kate" torpedo bomber at the commerative Air Force hanger back in 2009. I love your videos.
Agreed! It doesn’t hurt that Capt. Steve is so easy on the eyes. 😉 The club to which I belonged had a 206. It was not autopilot equipped, nor did it have a/c, and it was not a turbo model. I started my IFR work in it, thoroughly enjoyed it until an apparently lax maintenance program resulted in a cylinder head failure (CFI aboard and 400 mi.XC) and inflight emergency declaration on a day with weather much like that in the video. We made it to an alternate airport. “I learned about flying from that.” It was a very forgiving aircraft, good load hauler, and a great instructional machine.
We used to run beer from Tallinn to Helsinki with a 206 when my friend accumulated flight time. It had that big cargo pod under the belly of the plane. It was perfect for beer cases.

Joseph Jolly Do you have half a million just for the airplane and then all the hidden expenses? Cessna has lost their minds with their prices these days.
I think it is so awesome that you can drive your plane through downtown Falcon Field and the other many charming towns in the State of Georgia. It makes sense when you think of it and apart from modifications to the drive thrus at local fast food restaurants, it is a minimal public investment for a great return with so many airplane enthusiasts driving their planes around the town!
Thoughts become things, "tailwind again". Looking to get a 206 this year (2020). I was already sold but this video def added to my fuel. Great work. I'm excited.
Just wondered! if the engine were to (god forbid) fail would the plane just glide or drop to the floor?? I’m scared of flying and always think of these scenarios lol I applaud these pilots an passengers I couldn’t do it. Also very nice video 👍🏽 thanks.
Your standard 4 seater high wing airplane has a glide slope of 8-9 to 1. It would fly forward for 8-9 feet for every 1 foot down and land at 60-70mph anywhere it could if the engine stopped. A golf course, a long road, a football field...You could be seriously hurt, killed or survive with moderate or minor injuries. Depends what you hit and how hard.
It will glide, but only if you put the nose down and maintain a speed that creates enough lift. If you stall the wings the airplane will fall out from under you. Glide speed is very important when you have lost power. Life and Death.
MadmanB68 - just an idea - have you thought about having a trial lesson or pleasure flight in a glider? They're just an aeroplane without an engine and fly around perfectly fine.. no need to worry about engine failure ;) If the pilot can find a thermal (rising column of hot air) or use the lift from a breeze blowing up the side of a hill or mountain (ridge lift) then the glider can use those phenomena to stay aloft for hours.. Steveo has done some gliding videos..
Can someone bring me the "brand new 206"? I need to borrow it for about, oh... 10 - 15 years. I'll take care of fuel, maintenance, oil, etc. If you want to pick up annuals that's fine. :) The Heaven's Landing ATIS was awesome lol
Steveo, you should contact P1D to see if / when he will be doing another Porsche driving event. You might get lucky and have him invite you to one of the events and get to drive a Porsche. I would have loved to have done something like myself many years ago, but cannot fit in one anymore, let get out of one! Stay active and you will be very happy with yourself in the future! Kudos to the ladies and the flying experience.

thank you ladies and gentlemen for the excellent video. Back in the mid-80s I was working towards my private pilot license did my first solo at falcon Field!
I’ve met so many people who wished they had done something and never got to it. Imagine to be in your deathbed thinking about all those infilled dreams. If you really want to fly save a little each week and a few months you will have enough to go to a flight academy and book one hour.
@@DVolvoguy777-x7o If you aren't offering free flight time, then you clearly have a disconnect with financial reality for most people. I don't intend to be disrespectful, but when I say most people don't have the money to learn to fly, I'm not saying they just won't call their broker, I'm saying they are looking at a choice between making the rent and buying gas to get to work. Saying "just do it" is more than insulting.
Ohh, that new airplane smell!!! Its so shiny!!! As far as the landing, I really did not see a distinct touch down. Greaser...perfect. Nice airplane. I kept looking at the details and all of those unchipped rivets.

I saw it. A LIKE from me.
I love the 206. Having the opportunity to fly a new one is pretty awesome.

*I would love to fly a Plane someday*
Then go do it! Learning to fly is something you won't regret.
I’ve met so many people who wished they had done something and never got to it. Imagine to be in your deathbed thinking about all those infilled dreams.
If you really want to fly save a little each week and a few months you will have enough to go to a flight academy and book one hour.
Remind me a gain what the hourly rate is to fly. Then go on about how everyone should do it.
Just do it!!!!!
Oh I can see my house.
I saw the house I grew up in PTC. That was pretty cool.... even saw my office building dwntwn ATL. Enjoyed that one.
I can see my dream house.
You can go on Google Earth or Google Maps and stare at it all day if you like.
The takeoff took them right over my front yard, Dillard ,Ga.
The C206 is one of my favorites. Lots of room, plenty of power. Ya did good Steveo !
Really needed a Mindy cam like you had the last time she rode in the back...
