  • Note: Cessna is not a sponsor of this channel and I was not compensated by them for making this video. All opinions are my own. Big thanks to ‪@CessnaAircraftCo‬ for allowing me to experience this incredible airplane and share it with others!
I've always wanted to fly a Cessna 206 Stationair since it is the big brother to my Cessna 182, and on paper it seems like it could be the perfect airplane long-term as my family grows. But I wanted to experience it in real life and see how it flew and if it was worth the hype. After spending a few days in it, I can say with confidence that this airplane is an absolute beast. I am working on a full debrief with my opinions on this airplane, and when it posts I'll put the link here.

Fantastic aircraft that does the mission it’s built for and more. Just can’t understand the current price tag on it, $750k? I feel like that’s a bit absurd especially for an aircraft that is good but isn’t much more than a slightly larger 182. You can buy significantly more capable aircraft for a lot less.
Extremely large price tag for an aircraft with pulleys and levers, aluminum frame, and the same cockpit avionics package as a 172S.
No doubt an extremely capable plane but just doesn’t offer anything else beyond being good at its mission coming with a premium price tag.

Yup. Diamond did it, and I bet Cirrus follows soon, but before Textron/Cessna. Once they jump, anything running LL and even UL avgas is a dinosaur. There were LL shortages on the east coast a few months back (hit or miss at various airfields), but Jet-A was plentiful. That will get much worse in a few years, especially since the UL replacement is proprietary (read: expensive and hard to make).
