Hi from the UK 😁 I just took a chance 2 weeks ago and bought a Pacifica 012 online from a pawn shop in the UK, to add to my growing 17 electric guitar stable (due to owning my only acoustic, an excellent Yamaha F130) ..In the UK these sell new for £180, i paid £99..it still had the plastic on the pick guard/pick ups and was like new!!! same colour as the one you are reviewing..it is so nice..i got a steal on it, beautiful quality and sounds fantastic! I was looking to buy a guitar up to £1000 , like a Jackson, Ibanez, Schecter, PRS etc...but after buying this beautiful used Pacifica..i think high end Yamaha Pacifica is the only guitar to buy for me!! 012 has fantastic build quality, just like my F130 acoustic at £110 from amazon 👍
I had the old Pacifica back in the late 90s. I still have a Weddington which I will never part with. I definately getting one of these. Rosewood neck though.
Sounds great! I hope there’s a way to adjust the swing on the vibrato arm-maybe a setscrew on the arm socket? It drives me crazy when the arm spins loosely like that-I prefer it to stay where I can reach it.
Finally, a 42mm nut in a Pacifica! I would be very interested in the versatility of the Pacifica Standard Plus's pickups, as the other benefits relative to more-affordable Pacificas can be found more affordably from other companies. For that price, I would opt for a Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder Exotic HT or C-1 Apocalypse (All three necks are quite similar.) depending upon desired aesthetic and output level: my high-output exemplar for my forthcoming channel is essentially a budget version of the latter, the Omen Elite 6 (Yes, the model names are silly.). By the way, I ordered a Free Way 5B5-01 ten-way blade switch for my Squier Nashville Stratocaster today. Rather than repurpose the push-pull tone pot to reverse the neck pickup's phase and have 15 tonal options, I have decided to use that to switch between two schemes for the selector such that it will have 11 tonal options without the need to trade the option to wire the middle and bridge pickups in series for the option to wire all three pickups in series. A joy of not using modelers is the freedom to slam the input in a variety of ways.
This one stays in tune now…the courier dropped it off no more than 10min before I filmed this video and the strings were all totally detuned…after playing it for a while it stays in tune now
From the video; appears the volume balance from front to back is really nice; is that your impression in the room as well? That humbucker also sounded very round and warmer than expected for a strat body, is that your impression with it in your hands as well? The single coil pickups seem to really have some nice chime and it has noticeable definition in the higher registers, not too much upper mids to muddy it up. Would love to hear further thoughts on your honest impression of the pickups.

I watched quite a few reviews for this model already and it seems like it's super quiet virtually hum-free.

I hope Yamaha will add more colours like sunburst and metallic red, it's really a cool guitar.

Fender bittes the dust
It looks really good. It's in the price range of the Fender Stratocaster Player Plus. I would like to see a comparison...
This guitar is much Better than a player plus strat,you have to compare It against the american pro II

I worked it out now…it seemed like a push in style trem…but it screws in too
Got one !! Not happy with the pickups as they are too toppy !! NO bottom end and definately overpowered !.. Will change them !
Please compare it with lower tier Pacificas and maybe also with Squiers
