Here is to the photographer who is valiant, courageous, & also adventurous. Thanks to him, we could enjoy watching & appreciate this rather rare intriguing doc. in Guiana highlands. If it were not for it, I was unaware of the existence of those native people. Now I've gained new insight into life of the people. My heartfelt gratitude to you for that,,,,,(08/22/23)
So wonderful to see a tribe like the Wayana people living of the land and not devastating the environment. When you look at Mimisiku one of their hunters, he has a perfect well built body and has never been to the gym. This a brilliant documentary, thank you Slice for bringing to us those who are still living their lives in tune with nature.
There is so much knowledge so called modern/ civilised man can learn from the remaining indigenous peoples across the globe.Knowledge on how to live in harmony in an ecosystem, preserved it in almost pristine condition, while benefitting from its renewable resources, using ecofriendly methods/ techniques.
I hate the fact that the Western trying to influence everyone to live like them. Leave people and their cultures and traditions alone. Now we hardly know the original people of America because their culture and traditions were wipe out. If they performed their dances it was called war dance. Only because you couldn't understand their languages and ways of living it was labelled as hostile. I grew up in Africa, they sing and dance in every event including funerals that if you don't understand you would think they are happy that the person is dead but it's their way of expressing their feelings. And they use singing and dancing to try and make any situation easier. But the western would call them barbaric. To be honest who is barbaric here
In this video i have heard the name anghei konyak....iam also a konyak from nagaland India..... konyak is a tribes name so I'm queries to know him more 16:01
They are using industrial medicine ,gloves and also modern system of education ....yet they are still Naked If im not wrong its quite confusing.....😂 😂
Most likely they were paid to put on their traditional clothes. Or rather. Get undressed. Lots of documentaries try to fake that stuff to gain authenticity sadly.
Hunting with shotguns, taking down a big beautiful tree in all its glory at its best time for ONE SINGLE little monkey instead of what true preservers of nature in other tribes that climbs them whatever the danger. Nah, feel like this people are on a dangerous path.
Some one should send them shipment of SPAM & other ready to eat organic meals so they dont nedd to hunt or chop trees. Maybe learn to raise some chicken for eggs, meat.

This is a very old video. Probably all of the forest has been cut down by now and these poor folks are probably living in some crappy Indigenous camp set up by the government.
Shooting games with rifles to preserve their culture, cutting down trees to retrieve their trophies, when animals and trees are in danger,is this a modern culture?
The big trees are reused the animals are eaten not killed for sport and game like you would kill a buck just to cut his had and hang it on your wall they don't do that shit this is survival and living one with nature not making a mockery of your ancestors way of life get a grip

Hardly comparable to what the logging industry is doing…and there are no “noble” savages…it’s a racist concept. Humans are capable of good and bad wherever they live but some cultures are more supportive of the better side of human nature than others. It’s clear from the condition if our beautiful blue home that the choices the majority have made have been profoundly destructive. And, no, I’m not ignoring the positive changes…I’m old enough to remember polio and German Measles, TB, etc.

Wayana spiritual beliefs are very correct.
When was this documentary shot? One of the guy was using a typewriter. A Typrewriter. Imagine I introduced them to the iphone.
Well amazing 😊
Very good hunter 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome 👍
Sweet 🤘
That guy was in such good shape
May they continue their traditions for years to come. Why do they blur
some images? Is it because children may be watching?
They are blurring the young girl's breasts and bloody gore.

I can’t imagine cutting a tree that size with a bolo. I would be worn out from walking the tree and cussing profusely.
traditional living with modern amenities such as tools, medicine, and clothing is the way to go.
🌴🌴< < < WHY HE EAT DA MONKEY ? 😂 🤣 😂 > > > 🌴🌴
Just a question,,why not climb the tree to get the monkey instead of cutting it?doesn't make sense, what do they do after cutting the tree?
Make sure they're preserving their cultures and languages.

Look at those traditional weapons
Why would they chop down an entire tree to recover one stuck monkey?.
Trees take way longer to grow than monkeys right
hunting not for pleasure they hunt for necessity
From arrows to guns. Don't know if preservation/ conservation is better using guns instead of arrows or blow pipes.
When you give modern weapon to stone age man.

Cutting a tree just cz a monkey is stuck ??
Not anymore pure tribe because they use guns for hunting
It should be bow and spear for them to be called purely tribe
The government’s should keep their nose out of these peoples lives, in my opinion they will eventually destroy their culture
their body are mosquito prove
Sweet delicious monkey meat. ❤
DESTROYING ANIMALS , DESTROYING TREES ... FOR ONE SMALL MONKEY CUTTING A GROWN HEALTHY TREE.. DAMN THEY R CRUEL TO NATURE.
Yes they do all those, but they have limits, they know when to hunt, where to hunt and how much to hunt. Nature provides them
It not the natives doing the harm its all of us , duh
They aint exactly the role models that I was expecting when started to watch the video🤣
Well said

You go and buy meat for them to feed them everyday or just shut up .. dont talk nonsense
Money is all they got and taste good
Give them automatics and I am sure they would finish it off the forest in a month
