- The bracelets from Larry at Uncle Seiko are made by a Seiko nut for the Seiko nuts. We finally have a Seiko fanboy making the products we want and need at the prices we can afford.

Great review! Thanks for sharing, Rob. Incidentally, one of my nephews (not really) told me that if you flip the bracelet over and put the underside on top, you can turn it into a brushed metal bracelet! I hadn't realized this when I had them made, but it is a kind of cool alternative if you want a less blingy look. Keep it up, Rob. Great videos! -- Uncle Seiko
That makes sense, maybe will try that and show that option.
Someone below mentioned that the rattling of the z199 makes it sound like a piece of junk. As I shared with him, the rattle is from the excess bracelet being tucked under the clasp. If you don't want it to rattle, take off another link or two and don't store the extra under the clasp. It has nothing to do with the materials used.
Here’s some information for the misinformed here:
1. If a particular bracelet Uncle Seiko makes has a stamped clasp, it’s because the original version had a stamped clasp. It’s a specific design decision to replicate the original, not a cost cutting measure.
2. If a particular bracelet Uncle Seiko makes has hollow end links, it is to get the end link to actually fit. There is a reason why Seiko, in 2020 uses hollow end links on almost all of their sub $500 watches and it isn’t just cost. It’s because there is just enough variance in the tolerances of their case manufacturing that they could never get solid end links to reliably fit at the scale they produce watches. So Seiko, like Uncle Seiko, uses hollow end links which can remedy this issue and get a tight fit. A solid end link that doesn’t fit correctly cannot be bent and manipulated to fit.
3. To anyone mentioning the fact that Strapcode uses solid end links for these lower end Seiko straps, they recognise this issue to such a degree that they have multiple disclaimers about fitment issues. Their solution? They will send you really thin spring bars, which allow the solid end link to fit by creating a looser fit. This looser fit results in your endlinks moving and wiggling to quite a degree. Whilst we are on the topic of Strapcode, some if their bracelets are almost twice the cost of Uncle Seiko but with much worse finishing. Some of the edges are so sharp you can cut yourself on them.
4. Larry (Uncle Seiko) is a member of the community and hobbyist, designing and making from scratch bracelets which are intended to be “drop in” replacements for ageing, vintage Seiko originals. He could easily charge significantly more and still sell a ton of straps and bracelets but he wants to keep his products accessible to everyone, which in my book buys him a ton of goodwill in the watch community and I’ll support him at every chance I get. Strapcode are at best rebadged Aliexpress generic pieces cobbled together (yes, really).
Not to mention also that Stapcode super jubilee bracelet sucks because it's doesn't have female enlinks..
@@stuartcole4845 well, four years later uncle seiko offers solid end links and a milled clasp 😁
Thanks for the review...I've heard his rubber straps are great too
Thanks for doing a video on Uncle Seiko I couldn’t happier with mine. He ships fast and he’s easy to communicate with.
I LOVE his bracelet - I own one of his oyster and it's super nice. Plus you get kick ass customer service. I'm tempted by the z199
You like the super jubilee or Z199 better? Great video
What's that second watch? It looks like an SKX but the face is a very bright blue which I like.

Cool stuff from Uncle Seiko , I like his rubber straps too like the tropic
Strap it’s perfect for my 051
Yup. Push pins three seconds screws three minutes. Good looking bracelets.
Miamis4me
Push pin for the win. Just no collars please. Haha
Yes. Definitely grab some more for review. I've got all 3 sizes of his tropic. One on my SLA and one on my wrist on a 7002.
Thanks for the review Rob, the skx mod also looks very clean
Cool bracelets. Thanks for sharing Rob :)
I bought a z199 from uncle seiko and it is fantastic. I had a BOR uncle seiko bracelet that I didn't like though.
That beads of rice bracelet's clasp looks extremely similar to the Miltat ones. Especially the foldover and push-buttons. Loving the vids Rob.
I am sure it’s from the same parts bin. Many use them, very good clasp and keeps them affordable if everyone uses them.
I have the beads of rice bracelet for my 009. It is super comfortable and looks amazing, until you look close. The outside of the links are not machined evenly and a couple of them jut our on the edge. It could've been an awesome bracelet if it weren't for the poor machining!
Larry should make straight end links for his BOR. Nice guy and solid products
If I wanted to have some extra push pins on hand for Beads of Rice what do I need to order? I'm in process of putting order together on Esslinger to have some spare parts. Thanks in advance for help.
Email Larry at Uncle Seiko, I am sure he can help.

Oh don't they look great wonder which would look best on my SNE391 THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO STAY SAFE
Hi Rob, what model skx is that with the blue sunburst dial, I love it. Or have u modded it? If so could you post the link to the dial please
Awesome video Rob 👍🏻
They're both look great with stainless steel watch
I'm getting a z199, that taper looks so good! Does anyone know if there is a third party oyster style bracelet for the SKX that tapers to 16mm?
I know it’s three years later but strapcode does
@@mariog7213 well thank you :D
Nice review!!love tapered bracelets
Do you have to resize it for smaller wrist sizes
Hi Rob, have u tried swapping the clasp/buckle with an original seiko clasp/buckle? pls let me know. Thanks!
3:20 The second volume is a dreamlike beauty! :-)
The rice beads bracelet looks amazing. Wish they were NOT hallowed end links; that's one of the whole reasons to change bracelets for me.
The stock Seiko jubilee is one of my all time favorites and it’s all kinds of hollow.
Have a look at Strap Code.
Vegan Dinner Strapcode doesn’t carry the beads of rice bracelet. I have the bracelet and it’s a really comfortable bracelet. I’m wearing mine on a Samurai.
I bought two of those from the guy The skx007 bracelet was fine. The srp777 clasp didn’t close very well. Too bad end links are hollow. The srp endlinks had corners sticking up above the pad. Too bad.
The rubber straps are great also !!!
Hate hollow end links unless there rolex style. If solid end links are machined right, they always fit perfectly with no movement.
Hi Sir! May I know where u bought ur blue SKX & those bracelets? Ty
Bracelets are from Uncle Seiko on the web. The bright blue skx is modded and not something you can buy.
Ordinarily I'm not a fan of polished center links. They scratch like hell. But that Beads of Rice bracelet....ooooo boy. That's a sexy bracelet. I'm sitting here with an Uncle Seiko waffle strap v2 on my Turtle and I'm very impressed. It's only slightly less-comfortable than the Seiko OEM silicone, but it wears much better on my small wrist. Looks cool, too. But if Larry perchance reads this...go back to 2 keepers on the 22mm! It'd be perfect if that was the case.
Hmm.. The price is better than Starpcode but I would say the strapcode seem a bit more solid. I have a Hexad from strapcode and its great but it was expensive tbh
Thanks for the review! Does he do a solid end-links bracelet for the Alpinist (SARB017)?
I'm very tempted to pick up a z199, plus 1035 for my SMPc, but I had one of their Oysters a while back and I really wasn't that impressed.
Great Review! I´m really interested in a Z199 for my 7C43 as I normally use a nato, and I don´t like the strap it came with, DAL1BP. So this kinda pushed me in the correct direction :)
Thank you for your vids.
I hope he sends you a Razor to review.
Good videos by the way.
Show the other Bracelets please
I'm very interested in the Uncle Seiko President for an SKX mod I'm building. Cheers.
GEARY I just got the president for my 007 it’s very nice fit finish and quality is top notch
Yes!!!! Z199!
Gorgeous stuff. Now, please make a jubilee bracelet for the SARB033 - then I can die happy.
Thnx for sharing Rob, I tend to agree with you on all counts.. swell video
Think I'm going to have to get a Super Oyster from good 'ol Unkle Seiko.
Great review. Great watch Bands. What I would like to see from Strapcode or Uncle Seiko or Miltat is a better quality Seiko Monster Bracelet with the links at least 5-6 mm thick.. If You check out Aragon watches their bracelets make the Angus Jubilee look anemic. They are amazing.Just a thought.
Is there any uncle Seiko bracelet for the skx013?
Yes, beads of rice.
Uncle Seiko just came out with the all new RAZOR-WIRE for the Turtle. It looks insane. Please review!
I noticed that. They look very cool to me. I need to buy a normal turtle though to review it. Only have the black one and the gold one.
Can anyone share how the size (length) of the clasp of the BOR and Z199 bracelets compare to the one on the original bracelet. Thanks!
Could you give me the link on where to purchase anyone of these.
Like the link provided in the description?
I wish he would make these for the skx 013.... I especially want a solid endlink president for my 013, but I know thats alot to ask since it probably wouldnt be as popular a seller.
Also, I'm on the same boat in the push pin vs screw thing
Me too! Less chance of problems, i.e. the screw being stripped or falling out.
Can I use the Z199 for the seiko skx013?
Don’t think so
Another thought just occurred to me: does Uncle Seiko have any plans to make bracelets for the new mini turtles?
See what end links fit. They are 20mm lugs, most of what he has is 22mm.
z199 is a great bracelet, and i get the reasoning behind going with hallow end links and stamped clasp.
But $69 for hallow and stamped? hmm me thinks not.
I bought one... 1171 US president, waist of money... I cannot imagine how it feels comparing to my Omega seamaster bracelet, very cheap! Waist of money if you bought it for your luxury watch
I only watched the first 2 minute. The bracelet rattles around and makes such tinny noise when you handle it that it sounds like a real piece of junk. Maybe the original is like that, too. I don't know.
Actually, since Rob chose to put a lot of the bracelet under the clasp rather than remove the correct amount of links, it rattles. I was going to mention that to him but forgot. So, the noise you hear is from excess bracelet, not based on the materials used.
