It's been glorious to see the editing skills of this channel grow from the original Otomo Experience video. You've done a great job Pilps (and your team has as well, if you have one that is) and I hope to see more great content soon.
I have to say, having played most Total War games on record at this point, you are a unique individual who's able to switch thinking so easily between factions, your strategy, philosophy, diplomacy and tactics all reflect this. While the memes are hilarious it's astonishing to see, especially on such high difficulties that you play. Keep on fighting soldier!
Mongols in open field is more tedious attrittion than anything else IMO. You just spam armored (optimally Pavise) crossbowmen plus armored spear- or pikemen and then meatgrinder that shit. Toss in a couple field artillery pieces optionally. Timurids are kinda the same, except you definitely want some cannons to mulch those stupid elephants with.
I think most of us Total War lovers agree at that point that we dont need another fantasy genre. We just want the good old games like Medieval in new, for me personally they dont need to change that much of the Game Mechanics. More Provinces, on top graphic and synchonised fights, just a modernised Version of Medieval 2. Likewise for Shogun 2. Perhaps even Rome 2. No new Game Mechanics just a modern graphic, blood, same factions and units. Just new graphics and modernised models. Thats it. And 80% of Total War Community will even pre order these games. No Hero/General stuff like Three Kingdoms and Troy.
I'm glad you let the "holy crusade called" video play. I never skip it either. Even to this day, it is such a badass video. I'm glad they incorporated it for 1212 ad.
Venezia la Serenissima hits me in a sweet spot in this game. Not only because I live less than an hour from it, but also because it’s always fun to play as a mercantile colonial empire in the Middle Ages and by far the strongest Italian faction. Early game Venice is kinda mediocre (militia units are way better than most early castle units) but my lord… Mid to late game Venetian army is overpowered, it’s infantry in particular. If coupled with a good complement of mortars, you are unstoppable. I always bring AT LEAST four of those bastards when I’m attacking in a siege. The enemy walls become your best friends when you bring up the shiny hammer lads.
I wish there was a way to like a video more than once. I keep going back to the like button every time I burst into laughter even tho I already liked the video
i certainly admire your faction intro additions! they certainly give a unique and satisfying taste of fulfillment for surely each individual faction! good stuff indeed :)
As a good Honest Roman, this video makes my blood boil, but, great video! Loving your camera work and the subtle ways you are improving over time, even the simple camera panning over the battle shots have gotten so much better than before.
