Would you consider doing a review on the base vs the signature?
Don’t get me wrong, I am sure the signature is worth the extra cost, but I’d prefer the look of the planks sitting flush against each other as opposed to having that groove, so I’m feeling very torn as to whether or not the base is just as good of a product!

I have had Flooret Ashford LVP in my home for years. I like the look, performance, durability, ease of cleaning and anti-slip properties of this floor better than hardwood at a much higher price. The 40 mil finish is twice as thick as more expensive competitors premium commercial grade flooring. Unlike a lot of floors the planks don’t have wild looking knots that can be repetitive and too casual. Highly, highly recommended.

I used a heavy duty, wooden handle Stanley linoleum cutter to score my planks. It was more comfortable in my hand and allowed me to exert more pressure in a safe manner. It stayed sharp enough for an entire 14 x 16 foot floor.
The razor knife with heavy duty blades was janky by comparison.

Looks very similar to some I installed, instead of a jig saw, I had a piece of scrap 3/4" plywood... I used a cordless circular saw set just a tiny bit deeper than the thickness of the plank and it was so easy to cut

I used your advise when we first bought our house 8 years ago. There were so few vinyl and laminate specific detailed how-to’s that yours were someone controversial compared to the “common knowledge” (no floating through doorways etc). After 8 years we have not had a single failure with our Pergo Portfolio (top of the line back then) laminate, even with 4 rooms stemming off of at the back of the house. It’s been flawless. We went under contract for a new house tonight, and I will absolutely be looking into this flooring for the next one!

Always very informative, thank you. I just finished an installation at my house... I am happy with the product we went with, but had I seen this video 2 weeks ago, I would have definitely gone with flooret. Have you heard of Byork.. specifically hydrogen 6 model? If so, do you have any comments. I can tell you it is a drop and lock. The long joint went together like a charm. I didn't really even need a tapping block, but the butt joints were touchy. I ended up getting better results tapping the butt joints and securing the other end of the board in the long joint after by giving a good angled tug. Otherwise, if I did the whole long joint first, the butt joint had some occasional lippage. I dont think the planks were out of square, and my line was as straight as could be, according to my laser. I think the longing system on the butt joints was just very tight. The fork trst was good impact test was great. It's an scp, but i can't remember the ratio. Your videos really helped a lot. I am a carpenter by trade, I even have a few months of straight flooring experience, but your videos were a great refresher and/or taught me new tricks too. Thanks for what you do!

I just started installing in a 600 square foot basement finishing. Done about 144 square feet and noticing alot of crackling sounds when walking on. I've heard others online say the same and supposedly works out over time, hoping it will. I used lifeproof before and this flooret is way nicer looking, less brittle, nice and heavy, but it did not crackle like this. I'm hoping it's just the grooves wearing in. I did self level low spots and grinded down high spots making sure in spec. Also vacuumed and swept constantly. Using quiet walk underlayment with vapor barrier since on concrete.

The instructions from Flooret state that grout needs to be filled. I am curious on your thoughts and if you think this really needs to be done. That will be a ton of grout fill to do and since Flooret Signature is so thick and wide I am hoping it doesnt really need to be done. The grout lines are ~1/4 wide.

I am planning on installing some vinyl planks in my new addition's laundry room and bathrooms over Uponor's Quik Trak hydronic radiant heat system. I contacted Flooret and asked if their Signature LVP is compatible and, if so, would any product be need between the LVP and the Quik Trak panels. They said it was compatible and no other pad or barrier was needed. Watching several of your videos I've seen you recommend the blue padding that you use, My question is if you think it is necessary since it would have some negative impact on the effectiveness of the Quik Trak heating system? This video is perfect timing for me. I have been shopping vinyl planks for a few months now. I was pretty sold on Flooret in the base model. Still debating signature a bit with the added cost. We got samples, and they seem to be great quality. The only thing that is holding me back, is that the matte finish seems to feel kind of rough, and possibly abrasive. I'm not talking about the embossed texture. In your experienced opinion, is the Flooret Modin matte finish going to be potentially rough on socks, mops, and kids knees? Is it considerably different in finish than any other current vinyl plank option? Also, what color were you working with? We were considering Nakan. Thanks!

That guy says to use underlayment under all vinyl planks, even the ones with a pad attached. I heard you say in your 4 Common Questions video that you don't need underlayment if it comes on the plank. In some of your more recent videos, I see you are using a sound deadening pad. What channel? Most plank companies are now saying you can use a pad that is 3mm of thickness or less. Since I made that video this thickness of pad has become widely available. Prior to that, most pads out there were designed for laminate. I would still be hesitant to use it with a drop and lock. Perfectly fine to use with a tongue and groove plank. I am releasing a video on this next week.

I love Flooret, been checking out their samples for a couple years now. What color were you installing? Soho?

Can I install Flooret Signature over tile without filling the grout? I have ~3/16 grout gaps. The instructions say to fill it, but I am covering the entire house and really not sure I want to do that. What is the chance the grout lines project through the plank?

Great video. If we purchase Flooret Mdin LVP with the attached Pad, do we still have to or need to purchase another vapor barrier if we put it on the concrete main floor? I was unsure if your video says we should or if it is a suggestion but not needed.

Hi Joe, I appreciate this video you shared as I find it very educational information just as the rest of your videos! I have a question with regard to installing vinyl plank if you please. I am an older guy (72) and am wanting to attempt to install my own vinyl plank. I just had full knee replacement on my left knee this past 27th of April 2022. My question is "would there be any special specific knee pads that I might consider buying and using that would ease up the challenge on having to work with my knees so much? I was thinking of wrapping or taping some 4 to 6 inch soft foam or wrap a foam pillow around my knee that would give it some soft cushioning as a get around to make do. I may find that it might be too much of a challenge to attempt this alone. Your thoughts are much appreciated! TTHANKS!

I also have had a total knee done and the knee pads I wear are perfect for that. They are called pro knees and here is a link to my tools page where you can find them - www.sothatshowyoudothat.com/tools-supplies-materials-installing-laminate-vinyl-plank/ They are worth every penny!!!

Can you make a video on how to install between doors with the Signature line? We have the hardest times with our Nakan Signature and it staying “locked”.

Great vid! What would be your advice for stair landing? Im installing Modin soon, not sure how to go about stair nosing - and Flooret sold out my color (Nakan) stair nosing. Thanks for your knowledge!

Joe, sometimes you rate a product on a 1-10 scale. How do rate this Flooret product? We ordered samples today and used your code. Worked like a champ. Thank you! Tom

I heard you once say using a pad under is a bad idea when planks have a built in pad because it can cause the locking system to break due to flexing, is that the case with Flooret?
    Thanks!

Why do you like the tongue and grove better than a drop and lock style?

When laying on grade level Cement Slab what vapor barrier/underlayment would you use with Modin Signature?
I know you need the Vapor Barrier, and Modin already has a Pad that cushions and insulates, but is there something that adds a bit more insulation than just plastic sheeting?
    PS: Your vidios are great!

Do you cross the straps on your pro knee pads? (X pattern) That’s what I’ve been doing because it seemed like that’s how it was designed. After a full day though it’s sore where the straps were.

I do. You should loosen them a little. Honestly, they do not need to be very tight. I have been wearing knee pads for 30 plus years, but if I wear knee pads with straps that dig , I feel it to. These don't do that to me.

Love your videos and the knowledge that comes with it.
I got a question. I’m sure your familiar with Smartcore tiles the ones that are 12x24 and look like marble. These things are tough. That tongue or grove snap and lock is rock hard. I tried to find a video review from you on this tile.
    Also who makes this product?
    I can’t find a website or a manufacturer.
Also do they make this same quality in a plank?

Coretec makes it and they are owned by Shaw.

What about adding some gorilla glue to each plank you install so they don’t separate? I’ve heard even this plank can separate if sun hits it
