    What elegant dance music! Without romanticizing the world of Bach is it quite a contrast with the disgusting and loutish world of 2016.

      So what's disgusting about 2016 compared to the first half of the 18th century?

      Oh, I don't know. Imagine 2016 orchestral suite where movements are named:
      * Twerking I & II
      * Crotch Grabbing
      Not that there is anything wrong with twerking (in Jerry Seinfeld's voice).

    Lot´s of fine instrumentalists:
    Jaap ter Linden, Ageet Zweistra, Jan Schlapp, Trevor Jones, Ku Ebbinge, Andrew Manze, Pavlo Beznosiuk, Marc Vallon, etc...
    Headbanging Ton Koopman is the best.

    Incredible recording. I wonder how Bach visualised and understood music; obviously a very clever man judging by the way he used his last name in his own music (B-A-C-H theme and the aparent usage of numbers and their meaning in his music). Does anyone know who the oboe players are?

    I believe they are playing on period instruments. The oboes are not modern, and I believe the bassoon is not either.

    Why does it appear to be the case that almost everything recorded 30-40 years ago regarding Bach or classical music in general, but specially Bach, seem to be more spiritually connected with what his music offers?
    Perhaps the degeneration of this decade, porn, degeneracy at everything seem to have finally caught up with the human psyche.

    Oh no not baroque pitch. It sounds like B major to even though it is obiously in C. It is a very good performance though.
