he makes those blast beats look effortless
Declan Beyer he makes everything look effortless.
Thats the magic of heel toe technique for yah
He's just chilling there like yeah it's all good bro dw
@@aaronwilliams1835seriously though even his footwork looks effortless like goddamn
“You know what would make this video extra badass? A fan on blast for flowing hair and tank”
This is probably the best Whitechapel line up.
Damn. It sucks that he left, he was amazing.
He wasn’t happy in Whitechapel, and he wasn’t very passionate about extreme metal
To stay in a band for nearly 7 years isn't being unhappy. Ben was just tired of touring and playing drums in general. Everything will come to an end and now he is living life filled with other adventures....
ben has got to be one of the best metal drummers there are along with shannon lucas.
Dat drum skill doe
BurnThePope0514 sadly I can't like this comment on my phone
bakerXderek Holy crap bruh
Motovloggers commenting on all the stuff I watch
Awesome vid's dude!
Solid drummer period...for those of you talking about triggers....you act as if it makes the tracking or playing easier.....this song is difficult to play period and triggers help with a solid and consistent sound! A very talented drummer!
Don't mind the triggers, mind the medals that do two motions in one step
SirUncleCid Do you mean you don't like that he plays with the heel-toe technique?
SA FITNESS CONCIERGE do you really think playing with triggers are as hard as playing on acoustic bass drums? Do you really think that heel-toe technique will work well with acoustic drums? You won't even hear a tiny sound coming from the bass drums with such light hits on pedals. Beaters barely touch the drum head surface. I have respect for the drummer, for the ones who use triggers but do not claim that playing with triggers is as hard as playing on acoustic bass drums. Of course it makes things easier while tracking or playing live...
@@taylanokay6250 ...have you ever played the drums live? Number one heel toe can absolutely get loud enough to just be miced up like any drumset. Look at the video. He isn't pussyfooting at all here it is full range of motion. Number 2 for drummers that use triggers as a crutch, it usually doesn't do anything but make it more consistent if you hit the bass drum harder vs softer.
Not to mention, playing like this miced up to a mixer with compression would be just as effective anyway. Having played live for years now, being miced up might as well be triggered. Realistically speaking though, this dude can do this acoustic with no issues.
Holy shit. This was what I had a mental image of when picturing Ben.
Then I watched a video from 2016. He looks like the dude who ate this guy. He's fucking massive now.
Miss this dude in Whitechapel
Ben is unreal. Wish he was still in the band. This video is ageless and timeless.
One of the best drumming videos of all time! I can watch that all day. Amazing skills!
It's crazy to think that this guy now, in his own words, has no interest in playing drums anymore. Insane skill to just step away from. Fair play to him for following his gut.
Are you kidding me?!!
He's a mountain guide now if I'm not mistaken. He's the man. He definitely is missed.
This guy is the best drummer I've ever seen and I don't get how he does those amazing blast beats and fills
very underrated drummer yeah
ok it's official i can't stop watching this, i'm addicted to this vid, thank you MBR.

This is a brutal masterpiece.
great blast beating and double pedal!! It create a massive sounds,Great!!! I love the techniques
Well, as drummer and when i see this .... I realize how bad i am
i'm a noob drummer, doing mostly easy 4/4 songs and when I see Ben I think: damn he's good. Then I go about with my simple songs, perfecting them and trying to improve every detail. And I appreciate Ben even more :) so sad he left. Luckily we have Mr Rudinger for now.
Cristian Botiza Alex is a beast I wanna see him play this 😂
anyone else try to air-drum to this?
Christian Tillmann yup!!!!! I fucking crushed it!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂🔥
MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the smoothness of his blast beating on the snare drum. It's as if he's just flicking it. Amazing

Amazing drummer!!!
God, those toms sound like Tennis rackets...
Stellar drummer though!
What does a tennis racket sound like? Unless it hits something that makes a noise, tennis rackets themselves have no sound.
Andrew Teichroeb lol u asshole 😂😂
Those are classic Whitechapel toms....love that sound
Sick love the tone of his snare
That insane Blast Beat in the Beginning

This will forever be my favourite drum cam video fuck his double kicks alone send me into an organism
its awesome the way he plays the drums so quickly it lifts up his hair
this guy is just holy shit. dem blasts.
haha love the facial expression you have in that first gravity blast of the song you look like your so relaxed doing it
cheers dude
man, i really need to PRACTICE and not just play along songs. I need to improve all my techniques, just doing playalongs is just going through the motion. Im sure that to get at this level you need patience and start slow and get the techniques down tight
I really have no idea exactly what about you people, but i have been looking for a band like these for a lifetime!
*watch?v=ywhvj7UaDHo*
Fantastic, ah???

you absolutely right. bu a metronome, or download a metronome app for your phone. or even playing along to slower songs and practicing whatever it is you're trying to do. if you want faster double kick, play straight 16th notes throughout a song with a slower tempo. you have to define what you're trying to build up. don't be all over the place.
metalmessenger technique is a huge thing. I've watched people do graded exams, one after another or just play songs all the time and when it comes to tough technical stuff they just cannot cut it. I'm trying to build my blast beats and double bass which with both I'd use a metronome. With the blast beats, use your fingers to force the drumstick down, you virtually have very little grip but after that's sorted, build the bpm up each time you can hold the blast beat for say a minute or half of a song because it helps to hold the blast beat for a long time basically which can help with progressing the technique to a higher bpm. technique with double pedals is important but loads of people do it different. I use a strange technique but to build speed you just need to take your time increasing the bpm bit by bit after getting comfortable on each one. holding that speed for a long duration is a must and you can bed in the technique further to then gain speed and comfort so you're not over tensing. either way it takes a long time and I've practiced double pedal for two years or so and I'm up to some of ben's fast stuff but I struggle to hold it so I'm basically pushing the bpm back to where I can build it up from. patience is key, start slow, build up and get the technique nailed down....!
One of the best drummers out there , quite fitting for one of the best bands out there \m/ .
Sick!
Was great hanging backstage with the band at Mayhem. I will never forget it.

Got recommended this in 2020. How has it been 8 years? Time flies
This cat left Whitechapel for his own reasons. I saw videos of him in concert. Had no idea that he was this sick. His replacement was recommended by him.
@loudmuzik
Yeah I saw whitechapel live with him at drums during mayhem fest. They were massive. Was around when they had dropped section 8, one of My fave songs.
