Lads, he's not trying to impress you with his flamadiddle prowess, he's providing artillery for a sonic assault. You're allowed to not like the blast, but don't pretend you're ever so above it.
My man
No one is above the blast.
The blast rules all
Lord Punchings You deserve a god damn reward for this comment sir. Educating on the ways of the blast. \m/
Preach it loud and proud
This is so damn sick! Thanks for posting!
BRUTAL

^^
🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
PLS-🤣
That's to funny 😄
I've always had the hardest time finding videos of this guy. Such an underrated drummer.
So if you look up my RUclips Channel search Louie Rice I have videos for almost every project he has played in over the last 10 years. Subscribe to my Channel for new videos as i shoot them.
Louie Rice hell yeah,i remember meetin him in charlotte nc in a little store called (common market) i think, when he played amos southend with job and no one recognized him but me and yet they claim to be fans,i had my demonocracy cd and a marker just in case lol still have it and my cd,thanks charn lol
Louie Rice another funny story about that day was the cashier was like "so do u play in one of those bands" hahahah lmao he deserves more respect than that
Wtf underrated?
I'm a big fan of Inferno's creativity, but... Every once in a while, it's nice to see a drummer who doesn't just tap the drums.
Inferno used 5B's if I remember right. So imo tapping would still produce enough to cut through the wall of sound
@@BDyoungster1997 5Bs cut through alright. I use 5Bs for medium size venues. The way he hits the drums, the sound guy has to be pretty amazing. Unless they triggered the drums ofcourse. I normally can't imagine the sound cutting through crisply unless he uses at least 2Bs.
@@kingkongkungkwang i appreciate your input! I'm presuming you play drums?
@@BDyoungster1997 Ofcourse! And yourself?
I love watching drum vids and ive seen the cleanest of the cleanest extreme drummers but for some reason ive seen this video over probably a million times lol. Jon rice has a style i can watch all day for some reason.
I'm not into this kinda music, but mad props to this dude. To play that fast with both hands and feet and keep it that tight.....well done.
This style of drumming requires so much stamina its unreal. Honestly, this would be so stressful to play, haha.
Kyle Adams there are a few drummers out there that play Very hard but still very fast , ( Jon rice ,Dominator and a few more )
Seriously. Makes my forearms cramp up just watching drummers like this play 🤣😂
I know this is an old comment but foe what it's worth, it's less about stamina and more on control and technique.
@@njmontano1625 LMAO. Yeah cause reading a book will make you play like this 😂
It's hella stressful.
This is the first I've seen of Jon Rice. I enjoy this crazy direction metal has taken. The drummers have really pushed metal forward and this dude is one of the best I've seen. Thank you
People dont understand how hard it is to throw your arms around for over an hour. Technique is everything. On point👌🏽
Dont know how many times ive seen this, never gets old.
Dudes hands are literally a blur that's amazing. Long live behemoth!!! Metal 🤘🤘😈😈
my god - just recalled video with Charn soundcheking with Behemoth 10 years ago - when he was like "man, it's so HARD".
now he's playing with them
outstanding
Jon Rice killed it with them, he's always been a hell of a drummer. Having him back Behemoth is pretty dope.
Everything sounds amazing!
I'm not a big fan of metal, but no one can say this guy is a bad drummer. Gotta give him credit for playing at an enormous speed with that kind of precision.
Most extreme metal drummers play like this... I know you said you don't like much metal but check out ViolenceUnderground's top 10 death metal drummers list... there's two parts.
thank you VF for sharing material from all of your artists- including metal drummers!
Woah, Kiss sounds different than I remember!
LOL
Years of smoking wrecked genes voice! (I like behemoth btw)
Hahaha
This stopped being funny years ago. No offense.
The fact that he uses X55B sticks for songs that are this fast, blows my mind. The amount of endurance he has is incredible. X55B sticks are thick and heavy.
I saw them on Tour and Charn put on a killer show behind the kit. At the end he threw his drumsticks and by some miracle one of them landed in my hands. So now I have his drumstick signed "Charn \m/" Thanks, Charn!
Such a beast on the drums. Good for Jon! Glad to see he is still crushing it.
Wow, so many haters that can't blast, so they say blasting is terrible just because they can't do it. Here's one I have heard many times "I could do that, I'm just not into that style". Heard this from guitarists more than drummers
Or from those who's into blastbeat so much and thinking those bands who aren't into blastbeat can't blast. And again, it mostly came from guitarists. Ok im not lying here aight... As a drummer i had that kind of conversation when i was about to fill for my friend on a small gig. Contrary to his band that play tech death metal which was way more savage compared to my doom metal band. My friend was the only guy i knew well in person on his band, and during the practice session the guitarist kinda made fun of me, saying im not a capable kinda guy to perform their angry thunderous blastbeats so i asked him if he wanted to know how my gravity blasts feels like on his forehead and he was like "ok dude, you're in". So yup i can say that they ain't gonna stop say that until you perform the gravity blast on their forehead
Fantastic drummer! I saw him play a few weeks ago with Behemoth and he absolutely crushed it.
This guy slays.
Great to see The Charn again!
This is a testament to Inferno. He plays these tunes like Jon plays Job songs. Seeing one of the best extreme players out there struggle is humbling to say the least. Hell of a throne to sit in.
Where's the struggle?
Jon hits wayyyyy harder than inferno. I find inferno almost boring to watch sometimes . The velocity and speed Jon hits the toms is always impressive.
@@shawnhuk out of all the Jon filling in for Inferno vids... Ov Fire and the Void is my top favorite...... and it appears he's become comfortable having a camera in his face by then....compared to this video and Conquer All.
Jon is the man!! I always love coming back to this. watching him ‘struggle’ to sound check for them YEARS ago to come back and fill in and play miles cleaner than before just always amazes me. Dude has always been good, but he just gets better and better.
Wow, incredible drumming here! 🤘🏻🇺🇸
As a life long drummer and decade long Behemoth fan, I was super bummed to learn Inferno wasnt playing with Behemoth when I saw this tour...then I watched The Charn absolutely kill it. Huge shoes to fill and he did an absolutely amazing job.
i wish i had this master of the universe as the drummer of our band Baphometh , i had to say this because i was saying this in my head frm the 1st time i saw him had roo release it in a comment ,smooth drumming HAIL JON RICE
Could not ask for a better fill in for Inferno! You ROCK Jon Rice!
GLAD to see him back playing metal... as a drummer myself I am always open to crossing genres as a player... its what makes you a better more diverse of a player imo. But style and playing wise metal is def Jon's calling.🤘🏾
How do you "not" love this? Awesome!!!
This is goddamn amazing! This is how it's done! The way this music should be played. If you don't understad it, it doesn't make it bad. this takes a lot of time to get right, just because you can do fast singles, doesn't mean you can play good sounding blast beats. The feel doesn't just come from the speed, if you don't know this type of music, you don't get it, just like alot of drummers don't get Jazz, it doesn't make it bad.....
freaking AMAZING drummer!
Thats extremely difficult. The resistance that required and precision, completely amazing. My respects for this guy, who had to be more famous than who is actually.
just wow. thanks for sharing this amazing performance
*ring, ring* Hello Jon Rice, this is Inferno.... would you like to fill for me on the Slayer, Lamb of God, Behemoth tour? *hears phone dropping on floor*
Saw this live! What an awesome performance! Great line up too 🤘
it's magic!
Behemoth has always had very distinct vocals and riffs but I've found a great fondness to their drums.
amazing drummer
Jon Rice from Glendale AZ. Brutal absolutely brutal....what a cool summer job...killing it on tour with Slayer and Lamb.
Perfect 💥🤘💥
Улёт вообще! Красавец разорвал барабанную установку!
That is some sick drumming in sane Blastbeat skills...
So much control! WOW
I have an awful lot of respect for this level of top tier drummers!!
People have no fucking idea how much you have to practice to reach that level, let alone sit through a whole set!!!
I love when I scroll through the comments of a video and see comment after comment of people talking about haters talking shit about something in the video...and after 100 or so comments, I still don't see anyone saying anything negative.
Lol srsly. I gave up as well. I'll only scroll so long to defend the goat. His playing speaks for itself.
Saw these guys over the weekend and I tell you. They rocked the desert man. Glad the came to NM all the way from Sweden. Rock on!
Poland, not Sweden.
Just saw these guys not to long ago and jeezus christ this drummer melts ur face off
so full of energy i love this guy
Incredible!!!
tight! love this!!!!
*as lightening hits just 1 mile from me here and now*
too cool!!!!!!
Was at this show was epic watching him play
Not a fan of the music, but his control is amazing. Blast beats are pretty hard and he does it with ease. Great drummer
Snikendeskjultgulrotnepe his blast beats
OThe Erratic Drummer Jon Erik
from half of the song he lost everything - stamina, precision and other...
Ok I actually like behemoth now. This comment was posted when death and black metal were new to me. I like it now.

ppl doesnt like to loose their lvls of accptance, but once u feel it, becomes like a inner fire filled with emotions
Amazing. Great work. Tight as f**k. :)
Yes!!! He's still got it
Saw this exact show it was insane to see him drum for behemoth
I like him too. Has an amazing flow
Brutal drums man total energy and fuckin darkness
How am I just seeing this now? This guy is fucking good, remember watching him with 1349.
If I was inferno I’d be proud Jon rice is a beast so smooth and hits hard \m/
Great skills done from practicing much. Good work!
Incredible
The person who edited this deserves a raise. This is grade A shit. Excellent production. Immaculate
Its so impressive....so fast....keep playing this vid. Respect !
As each fast and accurate guitarist i mostly prefer to enjoy the work of fast accurate drummers with their amplitudes. Great job!
That was really relaxing
Behemoth FTW! \M/
Not an easy song to play but Jon nailed it!
Well played.
Yes 🔥
Like many drummers out there Jon Rice is a fucking straight up machine ✌️🤘👍 gotta love him n behemoth
Fuck me. That's a great technique. I would be crying for mercy after 10 seconds of this blastbeat
Damn! This is art.
Charn was the PERFECT fill in for Inferno!!!! He's a machine
Damn. Behemoths drummer really is the best out there
"Łyżwiarz wie, że kotek odkopał prezent!" \m/
Ach ta wersja alternatywna :)
Kaka demona
Wihajster chipsy dwa xd
klasyg
Wow very impressive. Very very good drumming 👌
Is this Jon Rice from Job for a cowboy?
Lee Austria yeah
Yes. He's quickly becoming the guy in demand too. Not unlike Tim Yeung was a few years ago. He's also played with 1349 and a few others in the genre.
its easy for some to judge and blindly say a style of music is bad, but play it yourself. theres different reasons for different styles of music. if you personally dont like the music then say what you mean, but dont proclaim that nobody should like it by saying "its bad" simply because *you* dont like it. these musicians can play more than one style of music. but what youre seeing and hearing is what theyre doing right now. its not all they can do. and its a pointless argument to say they should be doing something else. if they wanted to they would.
Couldn't have said it any better.. fucking Yoda Man....I totally fucking 100% agree
So sick I bow to you
Master of drums
Awesome...
He's fucking awesome! I salute!
Holly shit 💖 this is Lucifer playing 🔥🔥
Amazing
Meu amigo..... Que pedal duplo e esse!!!!!! E olha que ele não fica sambando o pé pra lá e pra cá viu!!!!! Esse sim manja de pedal duplo!
So fkn perfect
Brutal!
Good to see him doing some metal again.
Esse muleque toca de mais tá doido!
Quando acabar o show o cara nem tem mais braço kkkkk se é Loko muito bom
Nice to see real blasts.. Inferno hits like a child.
Glad to see someone else agree on how he hits. Never cared for how he hits like a little girl.
@@nathandrums0 Yeah, it is quite unnerving for mewhen watching his drum cams.
jon must be in his 20's
inferno is on his 50's, maybe more. Its super hard to play this when you get older. Go complain about Lars or someone that dont take their job done. Inferno moved many bands into this style, he was and still is a reference...he also was the mind behind those crazy unique songs.
@@hugorezende199 When he's not even blasting and has time to hit the drum he doesn't, songwriting is nothing to do with it. Not that I cared tbf but he's 42.
Fast smooth this demon kills it
Fuck yeah! Killing it
The drums in here, its just a masterpierce
Sounds so. Good
Jon Charming rice very versatile drummer !!!
