Palm Springs should be number 1 or 2. It is the most brilliantly written modern romantic comedy out there. Beats with ease 'Set it up' or others you put higher on the list. 'Set it up' has one of the best pairings, true, Powell and Deutch have great romantic chemistry on screen, but the movie and the script itself are not that great. The script has too many weak dialogues, and there is not enough screen time for a proper romance of the young couple, the bosses' love story is rather boring and gets in the way of the young couple's storyline. So the idea itself is not the best because it all starts with the bosses and it's just not interesting. That's why I want another, better-written romantic comedy with Powell and Deutch, and with more kissing scenes too, here we just got one at the end. I agree that Crazy Rich Asians should be high but not sure if number 1. For me, number one is def Palm Springs.
Powell and Deutch are great together but 'Set it Up' isn't underrated, it was not a great example of the genre and is nowhere near gems like the iconic romantic comedies of the '90s and '2000s. @@NaticzkaKaminskaHenryDolphin omg yes, I so agree with you! Glen and Zoey are great but the movie really isn't. The bosses' romance is boring as hell and it takes away the screen time from Charlie and Harper. Also, Charlie's girlfriend and his best friend played by Pete Davidson, are poorly written. Sidekick characters are poorly written in 'Set it Up', and this is what makes this movie not so great in the end. Most successful, iconic romantic comedies, beyond great storylines and a great main couple, also always had well-written secondary and background characters. 'Set it up' is bad in this department. Hope that Glen and Zoey will play in another romantic comedy together, a better one this time, and from what I saw on their IMDB pages and in their interviews, it is happening, so yay!
Where is "Love at first sight"? Such a beautiful and heartwarming movie. Haley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy have such an incredible chemistry together, and it also has some original things that adds to the rom com type of movies.
I’m so happy you mentioned I Want You Back, it is in my top three favorite Rom Coms. I love the chemistry between Charlie Day and Jenny Slate, and it makes me want more rom coms with them in it! It’s about moving on and to find someone who truly cares for you and you care for them because there is no “The One”. Love it so much that I actually watched it twice in the same week right after it came out, which I rarely do. That’s how much I love it! 💖
I know right? It’s my favorite romcom and it’s so beautiful. I watched it 5 times after my breakup. The message is great, specially the scene where she writes the letter in the subway.

I can't disagree with these picks but I'm suprised that Marry Me with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez was another classic I loved and brought back my love for rom com too.
Who doesn’t love a good romcom? Clever writing. Magnetic leads. Beautiful settings. Makes me want to draw a hot bath. Pop a few aspirin and unwrap a fresh razor blade!
Fire Island! It was hilarious. When the rain scene happened (think Pride and Prejudice), I couldn't stop laughing out loud. Happy with #1 and #2 on this list. As someone else mentioned, Someone Great shouldve made the list. Or maybe create a list for Netflix rom-coms.
When i do get a girlfriend, i bet her and i would watch any of these memovies anytime in the future. In the meantime, have a happy friday afternoon, Samantha. Take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia to you as well.
i love isi & ossi! the english dub is so cheesy but in german it feels totally different. half of it was also super cute. been meaning to watch candy jar but haven't heard of the others, so thanks! Other ones i liked but haven't seen mentioned in the comments are the broken hearts gallery and ibiza
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever and number one is one of my absolute favorite movies ever 😊❤
Remember back when Hollywood used to spend a fortune with a heavy cast, extravagant costumes and exotic locations? With all these elements in place, you could tell that very little was spent to make a decent script
Movie makers aren't making romcom anymore simply because they're not profitable anymore. These days movie goers keep decreasing and most of the time they prefer explosion and stunt packed action movies. Or thriller movies... anything that give them adrenaline rush.
Hot take: Happiest Season should have ended with Harper getting the boot. She was a terrible girlfriend. Abby and Riley would have been really interesting to see in a romantic sense.
On the same line as "To all the boys I've loved before" there was also "the kissing booth" which was also very nice. "Shotgun wedding" was super funny too and the other one of Jennifer Lopez... "Marry me"
"Big Sick" is an honorable mention while "holiday season" gets top 10!? FAIL MOJO. holiday season has unlikable protagonists while big sick is charming/heartfelt/witty.
You can't just include a gay movie in a rom-com list without some warning. That's like having a candy bar with chocolate covered meatballs in it, it's just abnormal.
The point is that those are all old--these are recent Rom-Coms, thus reviving the genre. None of the movies you have mentioned are from the last 2 decades.

Do you not consider the movie Ticket to Paradise to be a Rom-Com? Why was that missing?

The Hating Game! It's my comfort movie :)
The Hating Game with Lucy Hale should 1000% have been on this list!!
Marry me should be on this list
Set it Up is so underrated, I wish that it was discussed more often.
It was quite charming, and Glen Powell and Zoey Deutch had cute chemistry. Certainly better than his new one with Sydney Sweeney looks.
It really should've spawned more rom-coms. Or at least more projects with Powell and Deutch.
It’s like comfort food😭🥰

Crazy Rich Asians helped revive the genre with Netflix following suit with To All the Boys.
Agreed, they both came out in August 2018. And then Always be My Maybe came out in 2019.
They should make a Set It Up sequel, just focusing on their relationship
my fav romcom i should rewatch it
Yes, we never saw them as a couple ❤

What are your other two favourite?
@panshulsaxena5922
3. I Want You Back
2. When Harry Met Sally…
1. My Best Friend’s Wedding
Plus One should've been on this list. So good, and more heartfelt than I was expecting.
Came here to suggest this. Also, "Anything's Possible"
best romcom I’ve seen in a while!!!
The Hating Game is my new fave!
Rye Lane is one of the best films of the year let alone great romcom everyone should watch it
I think Wedding Season is one of the best new rom-coms, I have seen in a few years.
Please include Alex and Henry next time ❤️🤍💙
TATBILB really brought the classic romcom "feel" back so it has a special place in my heart
The lack of Someone Great actually shocked me. Even though it doesn’t have your typical “romcom” vibe ending, it’s definitely romantic and comedic!!
I know right? It’s my favorite romcom and it’s so beautiful. I watched it 5 times after my breakup. The message is great, specially the scene where she writes the letter in the subway.
I love that movie. Makes me cry every time plus the soundtrack is AMAZING
Yes! That soundtrack slays as well.

Saaaame. I think it's one of my favorite movies of the past ten years.
Love at first sight is pretty good, im sad for not making the list
„Set it up” deserves iconic status. I hope people will watch it in the future
Where is the Set It Up sequel we all need???
It's such a great movie and their chemistry is off the chart!!!!
I can't disagree with these picks but I'm suprised that Marry Me with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Lopez was another classic I loved and brought back my love for rom com too.
set it up, one of the best romcoms of 2020s ✨✨
What about "Plus One"? I also really liked The broken Hearts Gallery
YESSSSSSS
"The Half Of It" is a most excellent romcom/coming of age tale.
And from the latest batch of festive movies, everyone needs to watch "Round And Round"
I loved it too .
I was hoping to see Red White & Royal Blue on this. should take over Happiest Season didn't care for that as much.
Agreed, Happiest Season was not good. 🙃
Set it Up is my go-to movie, still enjoy it every time.
set it up is a classic
I love set it up watched it like 15 times or more 😂😂
☠️ "Last Christmas" (2019)
Thank you!!! I loooved Palm Springs 💗🤣🫶 felt so new off something so familiar. And big shout out to Set it Up. I need some rewatches!
Red White and Royal Blue should be on this list
I wish Plus One has n honorable mention…

I absolutely love crazy rich Asians ❤❤❤❤ glad it's number 1😊
I know its a Christmas Rom-Com but I love Single all the Way.
Los 2 primeros lugares son mis favoritos!! Y las vi mas de una vez. Lo que más me gusta es la química de los protagonistas😁
Holidate has been my favorite recent romantic comedy
YES!! Crazy Rich Asians deserves to be NUMBER ONE, although, Red, White, and Royal is just as good if not better IMHO.
What's love got to do with it (2022) was really sweet.
Love Hard is one of my favorite Netflix movies
SAME!!!
Seriously missing Single All the Way, which took on the holiday movie trope, but made it actually good, as well as queer. Fab movie!
Here are some of my suggestions.
Return to me (2000)
Just like Heaven (2005)
Forces of Nature (1999)
Sweet Home Alabama (2002)
Holidate!!
Some of my favorites if anyone wants more recommendations:
Izzy and ozzy
Half of it
Candy jar
Sing street
Dumplin
i love isi & ossi! the english dub is so cheesy but in german it feels totally different. half of it was also super cute. been meaning to watch candy jar but haven't heard of the others, so thanks!
Other ones i liked but haven't seen mentioned in the comments are the broken hearts gallery and ibiza
@@aaaarrgggghh3346 sing street is a very sweet 80s themed musical romance .
One of the best movies of the year was clearly Red, White and Royal Blue ❤️🤍💙
I'm from BROOKLYN NY. I'm African American. I honestly have the same mentality of the Brittan Mum.
I've recently watched If You Were the Last, with Anthony Mackie and Zoe Chao. It's a quite unique rom-com, it took me by surprise.
WEDDING SEASON!!! Suraj Sharma & Pallavi Sharda kill it as a rom com couple!
THE OTHER ZOEY!!
What about Crazy Stupid Love. Maybe the only RomCom I can handle XD
Absolutely indignant that not even an Honorable Mention for Red White and Royal Blue. Whoever did this ranking should be ashamed!
feel like holidate deserves a mention to
love at first sight should be one this list
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever and number one is one of my absolute favorite movies ever 😊❤
Set It Up is my go to feel good movie
Anyone but you is so good
no red white royal blue? really??? is the best romcom made since me before you
Remember back when Hollywood used to spend a fortune with a heavy cast, extravagant costumes and exotic locations?
With all these elements in place, you could tell that very little was spent to make a decent script
RYE LANE. RYE LANE. RYE LANE. RYE LANE. RYE LANE.

Something from Tiffany’s should have made this list!!
FIRE ISLAND YESSSSSS
The next one better include The Idea of You
Hot take: Happiest Season should have ended with Harper getting the boot.
"Marry me"
The long shot!

I usually like MsMojo's videos but was very disappointed in this list. "thumbs down"
Where's Falling for Christmas starring LiLo?
You missed Marry Me!
Think Like A Man
Ruby Sparks
Moonrise Kingdom
Train Wreck
Life After Beth
The Argument
The Incredible Jessica James
Love, Simon.
marry me should be on this list
me before you......not gonna include that classic?
I’m the only one who thinks that there aren’t any iconic romcom in this recap?
You can't just include a gay movie in a rom-com list without some warning. That's like having a candy bar with chocolate covered meatballs in it, it's just abnormal.
How is Sleeping with Other People not on this list?????????????
Happiest season? I don't think so.
I did not like Palm Springs or Always be my maybe, unfortunately.
I miss rom coms. Nowadays rom coms are all anti men hate except for the Hallmark rom coms.
Why Set It Up never got a sequel??? Is it THAT HARD to make Harper and Charlie to fight and some other cute couple try to set them up?
eh not everything needs a sequel
i love rosaline but the ending was awful sorry
❤
Lovebirds, seriously? This movie sucks, there are only the first 5-10 minutes that are interesting to watch...😐
"Love actually" "When Harry met Sally" "My best friend wedding" "Notting Hill" "Four weddings and a funeral" ...
The point is that those are all old--these are recent Rom-Coms, thus reviving the genre. None of the movies you have mentioned are from the last 2 decades.
Where is it RWRB?!? ❤️🤍💙
