Me and my wife absolutely loved Serendipity... She passed away almost 10 years ago now and I haven't been able to bring myself to watch since. She was a sucker for a happy ending. Miss her so much.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's hard when two loved ones share memories and once they pass, the one who is left can no longer enjoy them. I lost my ex-husband. Obviously, we ended before his passing, but we did have good memories as well. I can't watch the Sopranos anymore.
Wait how can you say in your last video that Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore had no chemistry in "Music and Lyrics" but then say it's an underrated comedy?
I love that movie. I feel bad Huge Grant was such a Jerk to Drew. And I love The Holiday, Fever Pitch, Just Friends, and now The Fall Guy. I’m a sucker for a good RomCom
I know- same! Chances Are was another good one. Disappointed none of his rom-coms made this list. They're not his best work but whatever, I still enjoyed them
"Return to Me" is my favourite 2000's romcom. Although the premise of "My Girlfriend has my dead wife's heart" is a bit silly", the chemistry between the leads is sweet to watch. Plus, Bonnie Hunt is the ultimate, supportive Best Friend character.
And, the supporting cast is great! Grandpa and his buddies, David Allen Grier and even Jim Belushi, who is not at all a favorite of mine, are all hilarious. It's such a unique film that combines tragedy and comedy in a brilliant manner.
I can not tell you how happy I am to see you include The Matchmaker! I developed a huge crush on David O'Hara as Stephen in Braveheart and was ecstatic when I saw he was in this movie. I remember seeing this movie in the theater and still have my VHS copy. Just wish I could find it on digital or even streaming, but no luck. Also, ty for including The Truth about Cats and Dogs, and It's Complicated
@dorothytenute2710 I've looked everywhere! Been looking for that one, How I Got Into College, Pump Up the Volume, and Connie and Carla. No luck with any of them, can only find physical copies (which I already have)
Oh, I love Kate and Leopold and The Truth About Cats and Dogs! Some of my underrated faves are The Love Punch, One Fine Day, The Story of Us, Laws of Attraction and Playing by Heart.
100% agree! I adore this movie! Such a good cast and the story of learning to love yourself before you can love someone else, the whimsy, all of it. Plus the kiss! Oof!
JUMPING THE BROOM is my pick!!! I enjoyed that movie way more than I thought I would. Mandy Moore has to be the most underrated actress of the last 2 decades. Chasing Liberty was super good and she was so charming imo.
@coco2.2 I read the book since I loved the movie and it was SO different. The movie only took a small part of the book's premise. They are practically two separate stories, so I enjoyed them both.
"Music and Lyrics" is so cute, and Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore are cute to watch together. I love the catchy 80's song preformed at the beginning, who knew that Grant could sing so well?!
list for anyone wanting to look them up 😊 wedding season roxanne the sure thing return to me the matchmaker deliver us from eva fever pitch the truth about cats and dogs music and lyrics french kiss what if / the f word obvious child celeste and jessie forever the big sick letters to juliet kate and leopold chasing liberty lars and the real girl think like a man the holiday leap year love, rosie friends with kids just like heaven definitely, maybe about time just friends serendipity it's complicated ruby sparks
Music and Lyrics is one of my all-time favorites. Sooo many funny lines -- Hugh Grant's character's especially. Also love French Kiss. When we are seeing new places for the first time one of us will inevitably say, "Beautiful, gorgeous, wish you were here!"
Not only is Ruby Sparks incredibly underrated, but in my humble opinion, Zoe Kazan should have gotten an Oscar nomination for writing the script. And Paul Dano for the acting, but I always say that about him anyway.
You can't find French Kiss on any streaming platforms. It's my favorite Meg Ryan movie. I literally bought a DVD player and the movie so I can watch it whenever I want. So happy to see it on the list.
At Middleton should be part of the list! No one ever talks about it yet it’s a very charming movie. And if there’s a romantic comedy more and more people forget about, it’s ONE FINE DAY! One of the best romantic comedies! 👩❤️👨
The Holiday and Music &Lyrics two of my faves. Btw, Music and Lyrics has an amazing soundtrack: Buddha's Delight, Pop Goes My Heart, Meaningless Kiss are BOPS!!!!
I love how favorite movie of mine (Serendipity) was placed at #2 on this list, but I would have loved to have seen Kate and Leopold and Return to Me placed higher in the list, especially the movie Return to Me. In my opinion that should have been placed in the top 5.
In Kate and Leopold, they dropped the Hugh Jackman being the ancestor of the Liev Schreiber character plot since it would make Meg Ryan character his ancestor as well as his girlfriend. Another Hugh Jackman underrated gem is Someone Like You with Ashely Judd.
My mom has been trying to get me to watch Return To Me for a while and I have never really been interested in it. But recently I learned what the storyline is and just that alone made me want to cry and watch it. Still haven’t seen it but it’s on my list of things to do this summer.
Kate and Leopold Confessions Of A Shopaholic 27 Dresses Last Christmas Return To Me Overboard Dont Tell Her it's Me(The Boyfriend School). A Lot Like Love is so funny and romantic. The characters r flawed and their lives weave together & apart as they evolve, until they truly know each other & fall in love.
The sure thing has a star studded cast from Anthony Edwards (with hair), Daphanie zungingia, Tim Robbins…..and has had one of the best scenes for a 80s rom com “chestnuts” scene. It’s one of my favorite 80s teen movies that flew u set the radar and made John Cusack more than just a bubbling idiot from goofy comedies.
You included many of my favorites. One I love but it seems no one has heard of is Alex and Emma (2003) Kate Hudson and Luke Wilson, directed by Rob Reiner.
The first impression is very misleading about how it's going to be a toilet humor kind of a movie. Especially with the casting of the male lead. I have not been so pleasantly surprised in a long time. And I watched it after someone on RUclips actually recommended to me, assuring me it's better than it looks. And I still had doubts.
The Sure Thing is one of my fav Cusack movies. "Don't you want to give me a riiide?" Everything about this movie was awesome! French Kiss is one I rewatch every year. A few of these I dont feel are underrated.
A Little Romance is my choice for #1. With a young Diane Lane. This is not only the best puppy love movie ever made, but one of the most mature and insightful movies
The two little girls on The Holiday completely steal the show. They are stinkin adorable! "We never have people here that are girls." "I know!" "I really like it."
👍 There are more of my favorites on this "underrated" list than on your "best" lists! I would have liked to see at least one of Robert Downey, Jr.'s late "80s-early '90s romantic comedies on your list. "Chances Are" and "Only You" are both great.
agree with almost all of the movies except serendipity that is the stupidest way to live a life. make a decision and live with it. return to me is the top of our family’s list saw it when it 1st came out, the supporting cast is stellar and the fact that 1/2 the movie takes place at a zoo and an irish italian restaurant just makes me so happy
Why doesn't MsMojo love her audience enough to give us chapters? I thought MsMojo valued my time as much as I value hers. Oh, well, maybe love isn't in the stars, and it's time to move on.
Just a liiiiittle sidenote here I can't just let go by, how was (and is) You've Got Mail in any wayever better than Sleepless in Seattle?! 😮 That one just threw me but maybe that's just me 🤷♀️🙃 YESS, Letters To Juliet, maybe my most watched movie everrr (at least (rom)com one, otherwise I'm gonna go with Die Hard hahaha) Oooh Kate & Leopold, yes! Hidden gem for sure. 🤔 Gonna rewatch it again soon I don't think The Holiday 'flies under the radar', it's just a bit slow when watching it. Love, Rosie. Yesss, also an amazing gem. Love the story and their chemistry throughout. Aawh Just Like Heaven. I love these two! LOVE Reese but just love Mark too and their chemistry absolutely! For some reason I never really felt this movie, Serendipity, even though I wanted to because people around me loved it. It's just not for me. Nice list though, have me some ideas to check out again haha 😁 thanks!
just like heaven and while you were sleeping just like each other but different characters and cast but same concept also underrated the vow me before you the proposal can't think of more but there is more
Lars & The Real Good is one of my top 10 movies of all time! It’s interesting yet very sweet. The Holiday is hugely popular and fun, and I’ve seen French Kiss, Roxane, Fever Pitch, and The Truth About Cats & Dogs many, many times. I’m surprised to see Music & Lyrics on your list. It’s funny and sweet, but I don't feel a big connection between Drew Barrymore & Hugh Grant.
Me and my wife absolutely loved Serendipity... She passed away almost 10 years ago now and I haven't been able to bring myself to watch since. She was a sucker for a happy ending. Miss her so much.
I hope that someday you will be able to watch it again. That it will bring happy memories instead of sadness. ❤
My thoughts exactly
Bunch of drunks at WatchMojo/MsMojo/MojoPlays they be
"Music and Lyrics" is definitely one of the weakest choices on this list.
Why is there a clown above your bed?
Yup.
The Holiday has become something of a Christmas classic, where people watch it every year now
They are filming part two of the Holiday this year! Yay
AND last holiday too i watch them every single year since i cant even remember
I return to Music & Lyrics every few years. I enjoy the playfulness, the music, and the celebration of nostalgia.
I love that movie. I feel bad Huge Grant was such a Jerk to Drew. And I love The Holiday, Fever Pitch, Just Friends, and now The Fall Guy. I’m a sucker for a good RomCom
The Truth About Cats and Dogs and Fever Pitch are two of my favorites and are never mentioned on any lists. Glad to see them get some recognition.
Great list, but you forgot a little 90's gem called Only You, with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr.
I was just coming to post exactly this! ❤
I know- same! Chances Are was another good one. Disappointed none of his rom-coms made this list. They're not his best work but whatever, I still enjoyed them
I don't watch The Holiday just during Christmas. I watch it whenever I feel down or stressed. It's such a beautiful and relaxing movie.
The Holiday is an annual tradition. Every Christmas I watch it
"Return to Me" is my favourite 2000's romcom.
@@IOAFan Carroll O'Connor! Loved his character. This was the movie I first thought of when seeing the title of this list.
I ADORE Music and Lyrics. It’s such a wonderfully sweet and heartwarming story with a GREAT soundtrack.
Absolutely love The Matchmaker!! Many people seem to have no idea this movie exists!
I've been trying to find The Matchmaker on streaming.
@dorothytenute2710 I've looked everywhere! Been looking for that one, How I Got Into College, Pump Up the Volume, and Connie and Carla. No luck with any of them, can only find physical copies (which I already have)
I have The Matchmaker as well. Love it.
The Holiday and Leap Year are my favorite holiday movies. They always bring joy to me.
Loved Definitely, Maybe. That was a very creative way to tell a love story.
As long as "Serendipity" is here, I'm happy. :) And yes, Return to Me as well
About time is my go to time travel romance movie. Bill nighy is brilliant
Oh, I love French Kiss (1995).
I still quote it all the time. "You peeeple make my aaazzz tweetch"
Oh, I love Kate and Leopold and The Truth About Cats and Dogs! Some of my underrated faves are The Love Punch, One Fine Day, The Story of Us, Laws of Attraction and Playing by Heart.
Ooh, "One Fine Day," I forget all about that one. It's delightful!
The Story of Us...Great pull!
There's also Birthday girl with Nicole Kidman
ohh, exciting to find a fellow fan of Laws of Attraction and The Love Punch! *high five*
Penelope deserves an honorable mention
James mcavoy’s?
@@pthk2874 yep
@@theamazingandtalentedblake8296then yes, 100%, I’m a sucker for a heartfelt kiss And Penelope has that
100% agree! I adore this movie! Such a good cast and the story of learning to love yourself before you can love someone else, the whimsy, all of it. Plus the kiss! Oof!
Aww I actually watched Music & Lyrics for the first time a few weeks ago! Really is a good time!
My faves in this list-
1. Serendipity
2. Just like heaven
3. About time
4. Definitely maybe
5. The holiday
6. Kate and Leopold
Definitely, Maybe is a Masterpiece. It’s a must watch.
Yes it is.
Totally 🥰
JUMPING THE BROOM is my pick!!! I enjoyed that movie way more than I thought I would.
Mandy Moore has to be the most underrated actress of the last 2 decades. Chasing Liberty was super good and she was so charming imo.
Just Like Heaven is one of my favorites!
Love this movie
please read the book which is 100x better 🙏
Agree! I still cry through the end parts!

I vote for "You've Got Mail" Circa AOL, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
it’s not underrated tho
It's one of the most famous classics ever 😂😂
"The Sure Thing" has one of my favorite lines: "You're flunking English. It's your mother tongue".
AND AND I LOVED JUST FRIENDS SO MUCH!!!! Especially Amy Smart. SUPER UNDERRATED ACTRESS!
Perhaps my favorite.. it makes me laugh so much
the holiday is such an amazing film and don’t get why it’s so underrated
Music and Lyrics is one of my all-time favorites. Sooo many funny lines -- Hugh Grant's character's especially. Also love French Kiss. When we are seeing new places for the first time one of us will inevitably say, "Beautiful, gorgeous, wish you were here!"

I love Music and Lyrics for the story and the soundtrack.
Not only is Ruby Sparks incredibly underrated, but in my humble opinion, Zoe Kazan should have gotten an Oscar nomination for writing the script. And Paul Dano for the acting, but I always say that about him anyway.
I was surprised at how solid the script was, I never really liked Zoe Kazan's acting overall. She is an amazing writer (runs in the family).
Speaking of Zoe Kazan, I saw this list and immediately thinking, "Damn, she's has been in romcoms way a lot than I thought"
Chances Are is also a very unusual romantic comedy! Don’t know if it’s underrated, but I sure haven’t seen it in a long time!
The Holiday ... that's all I need.
Must Love Dogs with Diane Lane and John Cusack!!!
I looooved French Kiss as a kid. They even adapted into a bollywood film.
You can't find French Kiss on any streaming platforms. It's my favorite Meg Ryan movie. I literally bought a DVD player and the movie so I can watch it whenever I want. So happy to see it on the list.

Yes I listen to it often, great soundtrack 🙌🏻
Wasn’t MsMojo the one who said that Music and Lyrics was a terrible blasphemy of lack of chemistry between two arguably excellent romantic leads?
Probably.
Yep
Just Friends is my favorite romantic comedy and never fails to crack me up.
I love how favorite movie of mine (Serendipity) was placed at #2 on this list, but I would have loved to have seen Kate and Leopold and Return to Me placed higher in the list, especially the movie Return to Me. In my opinion that should have been placed in the top 5.

Love seeing Celeste and Jesse forever here! Such a good and underrated movie
i’ve always loved Letters to Juliet ❤
I love Kate and Leopold and Leap Year! Return to me was good, but also sad.
It’s complicated- the best movie ❤
There are so many good movies on this list and quite a few that I can’t wait to watch for the first time!
My mom has been trying to get me to watch Return To Me for a while and I have never really been interested in it. But recently I learned what the storyline is and just that alone made me want to cry and watch it. Still haven’t seen it but it’s on my list of things to do this summer.
The beginning makes me cry so hard every time I watch it. It's a great movie when you need to let some tears go. Hope you love it!
I can't imagine anyone not enjoying "Return to Me." It's a great film. Yes, it has a tragic beginning, but overall, it's touching, funny and romantic.
Plus One from 2019 is another amazing rom com
People sleeping on 'Blast from the Past' and 'Stranger Than Fiction' too often.
yes, Blast from the Bast is one of my comfort movies 💗, Stranger than Fiction is slower paced but still cute and funny "I brought you some flours" 🥰
I love “It’s Complicated” ❤

While You Were Sleeping is not here? :(
Ruby Sparks is an amazing movie and I love that Zoe Kazan wrote the screenplay and starred in it along side her long term partner Paul Dano.
I loveeeee Music and Lyrics 😩
A Lot Like Love is so funny and romantic. The characters r flawed and their lives weave together & apart as they evolve, until they truly know each other & fall in love.
The "questionable premise" of "Return to Me" has to do with Catholic belief. It would have been nice if you would have done some research.
Yaaaay you included leap year!
Return to Me has a dark opening, but it’s worth a watch.
Keeping the Faith
That is a favorite of mine! Great movie!
Not sure I agree with the Holiday being on here, but I absolutely agree with Fever Pitch, About Time, and Just Like Heaven.
yasss my The Holiday is in here!!!!! ITS MY HOLIDAY COMFORT MOVIE!!!!
Wedding Season is hilarious! Excellent fun watch!
Find 'Making Mr Right' with John Malkovich and Ann Magnuson and 'Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands'
I think I am the only person who loves Longshot with Seth Rogan and Charlize Theron.🤷🏿♀️
Pleased to see Chasing Liberty, Kate and Leopold and Music and lyrics, two of which are a few of my comfort- cheesy cry movies
Green Card is my favorite underrated romcom.
Sleeping with Other People neeeeeeeeeeded to be on here! SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!
I wouldn't call The Holiday underrated. It's a MASSIVELY popular movie. Who makes these silly lists?!
The Sure Thing is one of my fav Cusack movies.
"Don't you want to give me a riiide?" Everything about this movie was awesome!
French Kiss is one I rewatch every year.
A few of these I dont feel are underrated.
Wild Mountain Thyme is weird and wonderful. It earned lousy reviews but Emily Blunt and James Dornan are stars.
not sure The Holiday is underrated, but it’s soooo good! I watch it every Christmas (hello Jude Law 🥵)
A Little Romance is my choice for #1. With a young Diane Lane. This is not only the best puppy love movie ever made, but one of the most mature and insightful movies
I just love New in Town. Great chemistry between Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr.
I’ve seen most of these and agree. The Holiday is my favorite but if I want a good cry, About Time wins.
The two little girls on The Holiday completely steal the show. They are stinkin adorable!
"We never have people here that are girls."
"I know!"
"I really like it."
Just Like Heaven and Think like A man are some of my favourite romantic comedies ❤️❤️❤️
Zoe Kazan is underrated rom com actress
Three movies on this list!
"Bye, Bye Love," "How Do You Know?" "The Timer" "Queen of Hearts" "High Fidelity" "Because I Said So"
👍
There are more of my favorites on this "underrated" list than on your "best" lists!
I would have liked to see at least one of Robert Downey, Jr.'s late "80s-early '90s romantic comedies on your list. "Chances Are" and "Only You" are both great.
I love Only You
👣 "Prime" (2005)

I think The Holiday is a pretty well liked known comedy, something of a Christmas classic
French Kiss and The Matchmaker are 2 of my all time favourites!
just like heaven and while you were sleeping just like each other but different characters and cast but same concept also underrated the vow me before you the proposal can't think of more but there is more

Addicted to Love is an underrated romcom. Meg Ryan plays against her usual character type in it.
Wild Mountain Thyme with Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan is good.
