Fall of '75, Philadelphia PA - The Black Student Union at Germantown Friends School had a Dance for the High Schoolers and many of the area Prep school P.O.C. were there...I thought King Kong was a silly song until that night when I saw 300-400 kids jamming all at once to it; it had my total respect after that

I love this song. Komo Sambe Kong! is my power lifting yell. 1975 - we all wore the same clothes (polyester), listened to the same music and hung out at the disco together. Watched American Bandstand and Soul Train all the time. Rocking down the block with my box on my shoulder. We believed in the possible. What happened?
