Thank You Rob, great video ... You make it look super cool for guys to sew!! My teenage son's friend saw the backpack I made with my son two years ago and had a fit ... He has been wanting me to show him how to sew a denim bag, and you're the perfect role model for him with an awesome project that's easy and fun to watch! Super love it ...

I made this for a man at work and he loves it and uses it every day. Thanks! I do agree there's a lot of talking, but the man in the video actually helps out with the instructions by doing this. He mentions things the woman perhaps forgot to mention so I don't mind that.

Oh have mercy! I didn't know this book existed! On my must have list right now.
I collect jeans from yard/garage sales. I go at the end of the sale and offer to take away all the jeans. My last trip netted me about 75 pair. Since I make all types of things from jeans, it's an easy way to collect up.
    I love the messenger bag.
Because of the construction method, there are is a great opportunity to personalize with some embroidery or applique.
Thanks For sharing this. You two make a great team!
Belated happy birthday to you Rob.

This is SO COOL !!! I am ordering this book asap, as I'm sure there are lots of other projects that will be fun to make too. I have ONE tip: when trimming before turning the strap right sides out, trim each layer at a slightly different width: it helps it to lay flat. This is true of any seam-trimming. I learned this from garment construction back in the 1980's when I was a teenager. Still works! ;-)

I love this idea and I have tons of old jeans to use so am looking forward to doing this. I do have to say though that it was a little hard to follow as I was watching the show the first time. Pieces of the jeans switching in and out so much and not the full way of doing it but have no fear I will persevere :) I will watch it several more times as I prepare to make the bags to make sure I get it right. Thanks for another fun thing to do :) We love you :)

There are other videos on RUclips that make this process so much easier. For a start, they use only one pair of jeans and only cut just below the crotch and use each leg for the handles, saving all that wastage. So, before you start cutting up all your jeans, check out the other, much simpler, videos on here.

Some people just don't realize that you learn from seeing, hearing, and doing. Explanations are part of learning. Without the explanations given you may not realize what you are doing. I bought my wife an embroidery machine and "inherited" her old sewing machine. When trying to figure out how to thread a bobbin I found your videos. Keep up the great work and videos.

Am I the only one confused? I love this project and love to recycle jeans...but the constant talking and the flipping of jeans confused me and I couldn't clearly see how it was done. Would've been mi h easier (I think) if each step was shown from beginning to end. Flip a pair of jeans open then. Lose immediately and switch to another pair...too confusing for my wee blonde brain. I need written instructions. 😊😊😊
