  • Fishing a Ned Rig can be super easy - today I show off one of the most simple ways of catching fish on a Ned Rig. Ned Kehde prefers this technique around grass and windy situations. As do I :)

    I'm now a certified Ned Rig fanatic. Fun day on the water Ethan swimming that Ned super fast. You caught a ton and that's always fun. Wish you had brought in that one at the pool below the discharge. I wanted to get a gander of what he looked like. And I loved your taco analogy 😂

      Haha glad you enjoyed my 🌮 commentary... and yeah that fish was a solid chunk, would have been very nice to land 😫

    Old man schedule. 😆 I know that feeling very well.. Need to start doing this after work

      🤣 it’s my routine at this point! I get grumpy if I’m not to bed by 9:00 PM but seriously, I need to start fishing after work more often. This was so much fun!

    Great video as usual! If you want to fish the Ned as a topwater throw on a TRD SpinZ and reel fast to wake it on top; it’s amazing. I have caught many bass just reeling the bait in to make a new cast; it catches me off guard every time. As far as your old man sleep schedule; I go to bed at 830-ish every night; haha!

      Yeah we are on the same schedule Gary! And I definitely need to pick up the SpinZ and give that a shot, thanks for the suggestion!

    This would be a great scenario for the finesse bulletz. Hook up ratio isn’t as great but you’d keep the rookie off 😉 Those tiny walleye I sent ya pictures of were using this technique. Great video Ethan. I’d love to come be your cameraman but granola doesn’t pay the bills.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад

      For sure, a BulletZ would have been perfect! And yeah I wish I could offer more than granola bars 🤣🤣

    Alright I’ll come be your camera man, but are we talking the crunchy nature valleys or the soft ones? This is important. Also I may have been looking forward to this video all day. Allegedly.

      Haha thanks Tyler! I’ll provide a variety of both! 💚🤠

    Do you think the finesse TRD can be effective on a straight retrieve?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I think it technically can. Although I would probably incorporate twitches with that particular bait to make it glide a little bit. The straight retrieve is much better for small swimbaits and grubs.

    Hi, what setup do use for your gopro camera for video? resolution and FOV?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад

      I was using a chest mount in this video but often use a head mount in my kayak! I shoot in wide or superview with 1080

    What rod and reel set up are you using?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  5 лет назад

      That’s an old G Loomis GL2 Drop Shot rod with a shimano stradic reel!

    Oh man, you should totally do a video with the new TRD spinners that Zman has now. They push right into the Zman plastics and add some flash to your retrieve. Brian Lattimer, one of the top pro users of the Ned rig, uses this a bunch. Check it out!

    • @FishAnything

      Definitely will look into it Mike! Thanks for the suggestion my friend 🤠 they look like fun

    what is the definition of a ned rig. like what makes this a ned rig

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  4 года назад +1

      Great question - these days, lots of anglers call anything a Ned Rig but this should help... A Ned Rig is a small soft plastic (2.5 - 3.5" in length) rigged on a simple mushroom style head (usually 1/16oz but never more than 1/8oz). In this video, I used a finesse swimbait to add a bit of action. Usually, a simple stickworm is a great bait for it!

      Sorry about that! Quite honestly, I’m not entirely sure who makes all of these baits as they were sent to me without a package!
