- Hey guys another quick video. Just wanted to talk about the drama surrounding the new case and that two of its skins the M4A4 | Temukau and AWP | Doodle Lore containing stolen art. But my main purpose for this video was discussion with you guys. What do you think about all of this? What do you think will happen?

Whether or not they are traced, f0rnez wouldn't be able to create skins without those references. Same with the doodle lore, Jimmba didn't even bother to change the colors. It is unfair to the original creators of the art to see their creativity being monetized by someone else. I doubt valve will ever make another skin contraband, they never should have with the howl in my opinion.
Overall, I think this reflects Valve's lack of care when it comes to using skins from the community workshop. Valve should (needs to) hire someone like TheDanidem who can verify the orginality of workshop content that it published into the game, rather than reworking skins like the howl, griffin, frontside misty, chanticos fire, etc.
I thought literally the same thing. Get some guys really invested in the workshop (like TheDanidem) who can verify all this BEFORE a case releases. It looks so bad for valve that the community has to do this for them after the fact.
I think they should contrabrand them both.

Yeah, the awp is definetly a much worse case of copyright infringment. The m4a4 is more of a collage of other people's work that f0rnez claimed to "draw by hand". To be fair, he made a lot more changes to the m4a4 than his other unpublished workshop content, but I guess we'll see if anyone DMCAs it.

The anime skin is very likely traced or at the very least "heavily inspired". When it comes to the AWP, to me it doesn't look like any of the artwork was stolen from the original piece, however it seems like the character design of the dragon was copied, so even though no work was actually stolen the character design was definitely copied from vexx.
Doodle lore is literally a copy of the dragon lore with different colors and you can cleary see the the dragon design made by vexxx was stolen aswell and subtlety changed.

i think this is just terrible. if you want to use a special piece of art for a skin, why dont you just ask the artist for a collab?
Yeah I agree. The artist might have been totally down to be a collaborator on the skin. If they go that route, none of this happens.
I hope i will still be able to get a Doodle lore in the future
I know right. I really like the new cases skins but I've only opened two and both were the mp9 😢

10:40 as an artist I don't think you can call that an "improvement". It is just a different ductus, okay, but it's not that uncommon for people to be able to do that. I have a lot of friends from the arts who draw in different styles. You cannot exclude people to draw differently, this would be pretty underestimating - but i also think the art on the doodle and the m4 are copied though
Ok doodle lore is cooked and is definitely stolen and has been removed from the game. But how is any of the anime stolen? Inspired yes, it's literally the same face but that's it, different clothes, eyes, pose etc, I really can't see a world where the A4 also gets replaced but only time will tell.
I feel the doodle lore is the worse case rly
