people like you are what makes the internet amazing! thanks for sharing this excellent primer, you're helping me take my first baby steps into mixing which I've wanted to do for years. THANK YOU!
I am such a fooking dinosaur (djing since 1989, I actually said to myself outloud whilst looking at RB for the first time...." jeez what happened to taking a 12 out of a sleeve".... this helped a lot mate. Greets from an old timer. Peace. dj clarkee.
I could not say THANK YOU enough!!! WHAT A GREAT TUTORIAL! down to the T! for a new user like me this is GOLD! hands on concise and straight to the point! YEAHH! even music choice is great! THANKYO!
I've wathecd them all, and I must say, this is the best intro to rekordbox on youtube. There should be a way for everyone to know this/ Watch THIS ONE!! THIS ONEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for this, have been putting using this device off for years, but now I gots to have it, and now I am ready to start using it, very useful, thanks again!
Hey cottsy, I'm feeling nostalgic.. Do you remember hardcore journey?? Could you post a track list?? There are so many good tunes in that classic set.. Much love. Cheers for another classy vid xx
Thanks for posting this video. My 2000 nexus 2s just arrived and this was very helpful to get me going! BTW, what was that track at the end of the video? Just the two of us???
Hi bud, absolutely great video really helpful to a beginner like me, can you please please make a short video, on adding & exporting tracks to a already established " analysed music collection. (I just want to add tracks to my USB.... ) Thanks 👍👍👍
i found this to be the best utility to convert your USB to fat32 no matter the size AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 6.3 hope it helps, it took me a couple of hours of downloading, testing and CMD
What if you have folders that have large collections of tracks and want to display them as folders on the deck. Can you still see your tracks in the folders you placed them in on the USB. I have a DCJ 850 whish is quick for me to find. ie folders inside folders. (hope that makes sense) I 'm registered blind so I only really want Recordbox for analysing tracks for quantizating Great tutorial and looking forward to moving up to NXS200s :)
Great video. Lots of great tips 😊 However , I wondered....... is there a way of stopping rekord box from analysing the bpm? As I use dvs together with my old vinyl at home , so don't want any mixing aids.
Hi, I just wanted to ask you a question. Do you upload your entire music collection to rekordbox ,or you just upload playlist you created. Also just starting up.
great video ....1 question how did you find the accuracy of the analysis? i have seen other djs videos which were playing house rekordbox and it was not accurate at all....thank you in advance, i cannot decide to go with rekordbox or serato
I have one track that I use in 2 different playlists. Can I use any kind of notation (color notation or a comment etc) for that track, to be different in 2 different playlists? For example, I have the song named "Midnight" and in playlist 1, i want it to have a red color notation. The same song "Midnight", its in playlist 2, but here i want it to have a Blue notation. Is that possible? (sorry for the confusion, im not sure how clear i was).THank you!
I just bought a cdj 850 and created three playlists in rekordbox then transferred them to the USB stick. When I inserted it in the cdj, all the tracks were there but it didn't seem to show playlists, the tunes just had to be scrolled through one by one. Can you think why this might be?
SONG IN THE BACKGROUND: I've been looking for it all day. I found the original song but not the version on the video.. It's called Seek bromance by Tim Berg (feat. Vicky jackson, i believe) If anyone finds it, please let me know! - Nice tutorial!
if i have my collection open, and i want to export my tracks to the usb keys. If i mark all of the files and drag them, will the same files already on the usb be duplicated or ''Ignored''?
hey man, I was wondering... how do I repeat a loop over a song? I've got some drum loops from my sample packs that i want to have repeated over some music
Hi their just a question ..once you import music to rekordbox and done with analizing then export back to the usb, you take the usb out. but how do you have the rekordbox collection still functioning ? do i have to save the music to the computer? Im using rekordbox in a separate laptop.
Can you please help - I am so desperate and cannot get hold of anyone. It's probably something super simple but ive been trying to work it out for 5 hours and can't so: I have the XDJ RX set up as a midi controller and it is working perfectly except the sound will only come out of the laptop speakers. I cannot for the life of me work out how to make the sound go back through the XDJ's mixer and out to speakers. I have the latest firmware on the xdj and have installed the driver for it but.... just can't work it out. I have been into settings - the only sound output options I have are 'built in audio output' and 'ishow audio capture'. I've re installed the software.... 5 hours of doing everything i can think of...please help Show less REPLY
My whole problem with Rekordbox is that it's all playlist-based. I want my USB to be organized how i want it. So if i have a USB with folders, i cant just say: "Hey Rekordbox, these are my folders...just analyze the tracks, but leave the folder structure alone!"
If full waveform availble only from PLAYLIST? I prefer to choose songs from FOLDER, but when I load the that from there, there's no full waveform at all (tracks were analysed before) on NXS2.
My music management if it intrests anyone: Music > "I don't fkin know", "Approved", "Emergency" (You know, just in case I need it but it's music I dislike) > *Music genre*, "I don't know what genre" (but sort it out later). So far, it works out for me.
people like you are what makes the internet amazing! thanks for sharing this excellent primer, you're helping me take my first baby steps into mixing which I've wanted to do for years. THANK YOU!

I am such a fooking dinosaur (djing since 1989, I actually said to myself outloud whilst looking at RB for the first time...." jeez what happened to taking a 12 out of a sleeve".... this helped a lot mate. Greets from an old timer. Peace. dj clarkee.

Is it better to bring your music in from ITunes or store your music directly in Rekordbox or does it truly matter. Thanks.
can you demonstrate how you use the tagged tracks ON the actual CDJ.
Thanks!
