Damn I can't wait I've been playing Alan wake since it first released when I was just 3 and ever since I've wanted more in the game and now that's what I finally get
Makes you appreciate that for an 11 year old game, it has aged very well. I would've preferred a sequel (Nightengale, Rose & Wake) but I won't pass up on a chance to replay this again.
See this is great, but playing at higher frames w/ray tracing AND 60fps is really going to heighten the atmosphere & moment to moment gunplay. It's wild cause this shows how ahead of it's time Alan Wake's lighting engine was.
@The V word It's the same engine though isn't it? 30 dollars for an updated quality of life remaster of a beloved classic to catch those up who didn't get to play the original? Sounds fair to me.
@@KingGargantuas Yeah the PC versions of the textures are honestly better in terms of wear and tear but otherwise it's rare these days to see a remaster that doesn't have serious issues or look worse.
Some of the redone character models just look more awkward, like Alan himself. And I don't think they redid any of the animations so now there's going to be these super detailed dolls with janky robotic motions. And why is the depth of field lowered so much? It was there to draw focus on characters but with it being so much lighter now it draws more attention to the unimportant backgrounds.
@The V word I saw that on the website, and some smaller movements seem different like hand placements, but the short clip of Alan in the trailer didn't look great, still looked like one of those weird Japanese robot dolls just blankly opening and closing it's mouth. And they are pretty detailed, especially for an engine as old as it is. Well you're wrong. It's pulling focus away from the actual point of focus and the DOF looks worse overall. And why make 3 separate replies?
@@JZStudiosonline I disagree, when looking at the scenes for the remaster, my focus is still on the characters themselves and not the background. The more detailed look of everything doesn't really take away anything from the story and gameplay, in fact I would say everything just looks better. And from the images shown, they seem to be putting more effort into this remaster than most like Bioshock and Batman Arkham.
@@kangshen1125 They're definitely doing a lot of texture work and remodeling of lower poly assets. The lowered DOF still reduces separation from the background though.
Never a bad time replay Alan Wake! Super stoked for this

They are suppose to have a sequel in development from what I've heard

It is confirmed that it won't be supporting ray tracing or HDR. It'll still look decent though I'm sure.
@@jwtrailers5317 Thanks for the heads up!!! Agreed it’ll still look pretty. Plus it’s Alan Wake, we all win.

A remaster that actually looks better? Color me surprised.
You'd be surprised how many out there deny that.
